I got frustrated a little with the failed sky rocket kick inputs
This is my first Tekken game and I also chose Hwoarang to start with. Bro I was sat doing that last combo challenge for a stupid amount of time. Tekken is deffo different from any fighting game I've ever played, but I'm really digging it. Getting my ass beat tho lmao

@@ElectricNikkiGamestekken is even that remotely close to mk if were talking about the older versions yeah but mk just isnt 3d or 2d whatever it was a while ago plus tekken is way more advanced and requires more precision and patience.
Easier way to hit the sky rocket mostly every time is to do it from his Right Foot Forward stace. Ignore the down input, just simply F> Df> and 4. Just make sure to hit 4 at the same time you hit DF. You're welcome

If no one told you, the star means a slight pause, almost like you’re crouch dashing forward, and then you do the movement and the button.

something thats been a thing in Tekken since like T4 and 5, is that the sample combos/combo challenges are ALWAYS harder than they need to be, and I always found myself making my own combos to do because they were always easier. Hwoarang is like my 3rd pic in this game, you got this Super, can't wait for more Tekken!
These combos are extremely easy. It can be a bit difficult for total beginners, because the notations can be a bit vague, but overall it's very straight forward.

When it comes to Tekken combos it's best to stick to the basics till your confident enough to do the hard stuff
This isn't MK, it's Tekken. Where the big boys come out to play
For someone who doesn't even know what the notations even mean you did very well. As a reference the [4 3] thing meant 4~3, meaning you need to press and and then 3 within "a few frames". The timing is pretty generous, but you still need to be very quick about it. You can't press 3+4 instead, either, because that's a different move (his stance switch). You also just needed to hold d/f when doing Sky Rocket, but you figured it out eventually. I hope you stream more Tekken 8 in the future.
P.S: As some of the other comments said - the star means returning to neutral, not pressing any direction, for at least a frame.
Never thought id be interested in tekken im pretty bad at fighting games but definitely interested to learn a new one and see what i can do. Might wait till its on discount though
You can play the demo if you are struggling with money, otherwise I suggest paying the full price because its totally worth the money, unlike mk1.
Super good video! cant wait to see you in a week destroying ranked and yes as a newcomer some combos are hard but not all combos are good (damage wise) so stick with the safest route and consistent combo and you will crush
as other have mentioned star means neutral then input there should be a somewhat frame of waiting in Hwo combo right(return stick to neutral but in gamepad is just stop pressing) then input down diagonal in a sweep motion(if gamepad)

its so interesting watching super struggle with Hwoarang combos. growing up with tekken makes you realize that its really hard even for seasoned fighting game players.
This is my first tekken really I played tekken tag back in the day but not seriously. I play mk1 and sf6 and I have to say the combos r tough lol I am having fun learning tho. I just been trying to get the more basic ones down for now.

im not sure if this still works in t8 but in t7 you can do a sky rocket pretty simply in my opinion. just by pressing forward then down forward without the down input it works and made it easier for me when i started playing hwoawrang
@super While rising just means you input a move before you finish standing up from crouch. Another way to say it is "while standing" also for the forward neutral inputs just imagine your doing a shoryuken.

The star means that you have to return to neutral. You have to let go of your pad and the do down into down down forward 4. you can also only do the big kick in right foot forward stance. Left foot forward does not have this move.

I just started playing stick and the trade offs from pad is that I find myself struggling with the DP motions as well as the hadoken motions. Ps5 pad I feel it’s harder to hit the buttons simultaneously and sticks it’s easier. Good luck on your challenges!
I spent the longest time on azucena's combos, actually taking a short break helped because i was getting so tense and frustated. Maybe one day ill be decent at tekken.

Tekken was his first fighting game before mk
Don't think of it as a dragon punch SRK motion, it's a crouch dash. What makes it a crouch dash is the down before the down-forward. That may help with your timing of that motion.

I've been at combo 11 for several hours. I don't know how anyone could land that shit in an actual match. Parts of it have to be inputted lightening quick, and some require a very specific delay. Shit is insane.
Online, the second part 3+4 stance switch and backlash 3~4 is part of hworang's combos even after b3 and especially his optimal wall enders
I know hes kicking in combo ten, but the way the character just flies across the screen its like he has a magnet pulling him from his groin to the other character. Like physics go our the window like hes just flying through the air with one leg up.

These combos are exceptionally easy, it's just like most fighting games - you need a few hours to understand the input system and the notations.

I played hwo too but never used his JFSR combos. After practicing Reina EWGF for weeks, JFSR is not a trouble anymore. But i still can't do his ➡️➡️3️⃣➕4️⃣, (3️⃣~4️⃣)

The move you were stuck on is unsafe on block I believe, but if you do the just frame version it becomes safe and shows blue sparks
Thats the thing about tekken you can spend 2k hours in the lab easy lol
take a look at the controller setting, you can map alot of useful buttons

Tekken combos are hard
I'm scared to play Tekken 8 because I love Mortal Kombat and is having fun with mk1, but I don't wanna to feel like I'm abandoning mk1 like everyone else
I think it's OK to take a break from something. If you keep playing mk1 you will get burned out and start to dislike the game. So playing another fighting game will only let you appreciate mk1 more for when you get back to it eventually
As soon as all the dlc for mk drops I'm definitely deleting it permanently
Both are great games. Tekken 8 is like street fighter 6. I play both mk1 & T8 on the series x

If its your first time playing tekken, i highly recommend using kazuya, hes very good for teaching the big fundamentals of tekken like spacing, whiff punishing etc

Kazuya is more on the technical side of things as he is a Mishima. But if u wanna play him that's fine. A beginner friendly character would probably be any of the new 3 new characters, Lars, Law, Lili, Asuka, Feng
