- What would it have been like to live in Anglo-Saxon times? This video demonstrates the different tasks that people living in the past might have done.
This video has been made for illustration purposes and is not an instructional video.
Made in partnership with Suffolk County Council Archaeological Service and West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village and Museum, for the Rendlesham Revealed project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

I was impressed by how quickly you got the flint to work with the cloth, nicely done. Thought the video may have cut off then come back a bit later! It’s never easy
I wish I had known about these videos when they were first being released. Because they are well shot, well presented and really interesting.
Wow, I can’t believe how much I bloody enjoyed this! Really informative. This is the stuff that we hardly ever see. Wish there was more of this stuff on you tube. Thank you so much for this! I’ll watch the others now. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
Fantastic video. Loved this. Great job!
not the goose poo...
once again, love this series & so glad i discovered!
The split Hazel running across the thatch is a ledger and the twisted peg is the spar .
I enjoyed that. Very educational. 👍🏻
Imagine how many things need fixing on any given day: clothes, houses, furniture, tools, animals, etc. Much of the day must have been dedicated to just maintaining things
Goose poop on the foot got me
Oh no those downhill spars 🙈😅 great videos though love them
?
RELY NICE EXPAING
The sharp points or the spar should be tilted toward the roof so rain won’t follow them under the thatch, he’s got them tilted so the rain will run right into it unfortunately.
My students would like to know if you used real goose poop! Thanks :)
Hi, yes we did! We washed it off really well afterwards.
I wonder whether they discovered that, have goose, will step in poo, but hey, that yarrow really helped my foot! Next time I get stung I’ll just try the yarrow!
I love it
Il y avait aussi de nombreuses colonie Saxonnes en France.
