They won the 2nd place. At that time, the main vocalist and guitarist of LUCY was Lee Juhyuk, but he returned to his other band GIFT after the show ended. LUCY officially debuted under the label MYSTIC STORY in May 2020 with the single-album “DEAR.”, featuring the track “Flowering”. The 4 members of LUCY are : - *Shin Yechan* (born in 1992) : violinist, leader. He used to do busking before he joined the band. His face is full of passion and concentration when he plays the violin, yet he can be really playful and funny on stage as well. He can imitate various sounds with his instrument (seabirds, car horn) but also the chirping of birds with his mouth (see their live-cover of “Cry Bird” at Music Hall). - *Choi Sangyeop* (born in 1994) : guitarist, vocalist. He first debuted as a solo artist and released a bunch of songs and OSTs. He also participated in SuperBand, and then joined LUCY as its new vocalist and guitarist. His voice is clear and powerful, he can also play the piano (ex in his song “Stay as you are”). He’s clumsy sometimes but is described as the mom of the group because of his caring personality. - *Cho Wonsang* (born in 1996) : bassist, producer, vocalist. He’s part of a producing team that already worked for other artists such as Cosmic Girls. Apart from composing and producing LUCY’s songs, he plays the bass extremely well and mainly does backing vocals, he sings beautifully (you can hear him rap-singing in the song “Watermelon”). He often acts playful on stage and creates little choreographies with Yechan. - *Shin Gwangil* (born in 1997) : drummer, vocalist. He initially plays the guitar but had to switch to drums during the contest as they lacked this instrument (he had previous knowledge but had to work really hard). Apart from playing the drums very well, he has a soft and soothing voice (see the song “Enough” which he wrote and composed himself). He likes to tease the older members. They are all extremely talented, sweet and funny. Their music is very interesting in the sense that they tend to incorporate original or unexpected sounds / melodies to create various atmospheres and sceneries, which the listeners will be able to picture in their minds (ex : when they first created the song “Flare” during SuperBand for the final round, they went to a fair and recorded fireworks sounds, then put them in the song to convey the themes of hope and celebration). One of LUCY’s strengths is the richness and complexity of their songs’ instrumentation, as well as the poetry of their lyrics : i recommend checking out the video “PANORAMA Commentary Film” on LUCY’s YT channel to see how they work on their songs and how much thought and care they put into their work (the video is similar to SKZ’s concept with their “INTRO” videos where they explain the creative process for their albums). i remember the first time i heard it on superband the solo violin part was so great it made me quite emotional it's been more than a year now and it's still the same thanks for the reaction guys!
I'd say at this point this is my favorite Lucy song, it's just soo amazing. I've seen some other people suggest you react to hoppipolla, and second that. They have some really beautiful original music (Enough is my favorite) and some incredible covers as well (may I suggest their cover of creep).
I third the suggestion!! Also wanted to say that they just had a comeback with a mini album yesterday with the title song 'Your Ocean'!! It'll be awesome if they react to them~~
