- The Ukrainian Catholic Church is moving away from a Church calendar affiliated with Russia. The move means that Ukrainian Catholics will now celebrate Christmas on December 25th. Previously, they celebrated on January 7th, the same day as many Orthodox faiths who follow the Julian calendar. For now, the faithful in the country will continue to celebrate Easter on a later date from most of the world's Catholics and Protestant Christians. EWTN Vatican Bureau Chief, Andreas Thonhauser, joins to tell us more about that. Thonhauser explains why the change of date is significant. He discusses how politics play a big role in the Orthodox Churches in Ukraine.
