I love that with every episode there's at least one "I hope he'll do that someday" or "I can't wait for him to do that" or "he does this/did this" about your son. It's so cute

As a preschool teacher here in Australia, the effect bluey has made on the way kids play and communicate with each other and us is so wonderful, so many things they're likely to attempt because it's "just like on bluey". Also it's given some dads a little confidence boost, we've had an increase in dads asking us how to play certain games or activities the kids do at school so they can play at home. We get a lot of new dads that worry about not being as fun as bandit but they needn't worry, their kids rave about them to us 😂
Calypso is one of my favorite episodes of the whole show. I love how she gently encourages the kids to play with each other without forcing them to change anything about how they're playing - just intermingle their games. I also love the detail of Rusty gladly taking care of Polly while Indy's at work - boys playing with dolls is representation that I'll always appreciate.
The Rusty thing actually gets expanded on later in the series. He plays "mums and dads" with Indy in the episode of the same name where the instigating event is them arguing over which parent should work and which should watch the child.
I feel like "The Claw" episode shows how Bandit isn't a perfect parent, he makes mistakes sometimes just like everybody.
"They're learning a lesson AND the house is getting cleaned!"

He was teaching a really good lesson though. Gambling is an addiction and he tried to show Bluey and Bingo how wasteful it can be to spend money on something you wont always win at
Hearing you guys say you're coming to Bluey to decompress from the emotional shows:
Boy, you're in for it in the coming episodes.
Bluey takes place in our current world but dogs evolved into bipedal sentient animals instead of apes, making them Dog-People rather then people that turned into dogs. Their knees grow in at 2yo and that only gets more confusing in the episode "Baby Race". There are a lot dogs with human names like Pat, Janelle, Chucky, Winston, Audrey, Wendy and Bluey has a double first name which is Bluey-Christine. There's no canon ages for the parents other then the dad being 10yo in the 80s, they're probably in mid-late 30's and would've had Bluey in their late 20s. They are also always naked, we see some dogs wearing shirts and pants as part of work uniforms, as well as a whole episode in purple underwear. Also all the "bush wees." Now you can sleep well at night.
The game Double Dragon came out in the late 80s, which we see Bandit play when he was 10. Knowing that the show takes place in late 2010s to present day, we can safely say that Bandit is in his early-mid 40s now. In 2020 he would be about 42 years old according to some quick math.
We don’t know enough about Chilli to figure out her age quite as precisely as Bandit’s, but it’s safe to say that she is within a year of Bandit’s age.
All of this. The way I see the clothing situation, Fur = Common Clothes. Anything on top of that is for personal expression, used more like accessories, as uniform or simply for recognition for the audience. However the underwear situation still confuses me xD

Bluey has become an Oasis in the mouth of hell. Everything from Acolyte killing all the best characters, to the boys being…well, The Boys, this show is just a comforting hug and a lavender bath to wash off all the blood and tears lol.

my fave part of these is Every single time Jay talks about dad stuff, Adam looks at him with a smile so happy. Love seeing dudes being happy that their friends are happy. And yes, its EVERY TIME. Every time you talk about being a dad, hes so happy for you.
I cannot WAIT for them to get to the Octopus episode, because I think that one will be Adam's time to shine. 🐙

If I can of soda used to be 50 cents and now costs about $2-$2.50, getting $5 for a tooth makes sense.

That claw episode is so relateable. When I try to teach my little kid a live lesson it ends exactly in the same way. No lesson was learned and I pay with ice-cream. 😂😂

Hey, I caught the reference to the troubadour from Gilmore Girls, who was played by Grant Lee Phillips, a pretty great singer-songwriter in his own right and lead singer of Grant Lee Buffalo.
The best advice I've heard for playing pretend is "don't try to make it more real or improve it becuase they'll take it as 'my pretend wasn't good enough', you gotta just keep it at their level".

Calypso is one of my favorite episodes of season 1. every time I watch it, my educator senses perk up. she’s so amazing! 🤩 plus, I love any episode with Rusty.
Yes look up the controversy of the banned/edited bluey episodes that for some reason the US cant handle
People blow the editing thing way out of proportion, only the vasectomy talk being edited out makes a big difference in the episode, and of course Dad Baby just has no reason to not be on D+.

Chilli gets more involved in Season 2 on because the series started off as Joe Brumm basing it on his experience raising 2 daughters. So he leaned heavily on his own life for ideas.
My brother is father to a two and a half year old, and he takes such inspo from Bandit on approaching him in games and stuff now that my nephew is starting to get things. No better references, Jay!

Not sure if you're watching the censored episodes of Bluey, but in the Markets episode, right when the girls finish saying goodbye to Buttermilk the pony, the pony poops in the original version and the girls run away screaming. Disney decided to edit that bit out when they put it on Disney+

Tipping isn’t really a thing in Australia. The minimum wage is about $24/hr. And on public holidays hospitality workers are paid about $50/hr. So, we don;t need to tip. We only tip if the service is EXCEPTIONAL.

I agree $5 is a lot for a tooth even factoring in inflation, but that's also $5 Australian. Factor in the exchange rate and it's $3.33 American.
Given that there are references to laundry and owning pets in Bluey, I view the "pogs" (people + dogs) much like the characters in shows like Hello Kitty and Aggretsuko. They're meant to represent humans, but they're also dogs in a humorous, superficial sense. They own human things like clothes and can even have pets, we just don't get to see them.
Your bluey reactions are Great also outside of Australia some of the episodes are censored and cut in other countries like for instance in the episode Markets there was a scene of the horse pooping and it was cut outside of Australia

If it helps 5 Australian dollars is like 3.30 US dollars. Also yeah a dollar in the 80s is about $3.81 today, so about right.
Also kids have 20 baby teeth 32 adult teeth. Dogs have 28 puppy teeth and 42 adult teeth. So a bit more but not too bad of a difference on the temporary teeth.

I like how you picked up on Chili not being in the make believe games very much- In a later episode Chili admits she struggles with make believe open ended games that don't seem to have a definite purpose. I think a lot of parents can relate to that.
