This might be your best vlog from Romania. Sorin is like a father who is getting super excited when his "kids" understand how to pick mushrooms. He has a kind heart and so do the ladies cooking in the kitchen, it reminded me of my dad and grandparents. Bucovina is such a special place because of its people! Thank you for sharing this incredible experience with us 😊
The yellow mushrooms that looks like "corals" are called "The Rooster's Crest" which are edible and actually are considered the best for a lot of dishes, mainly for "Zacusca" (mashed vegetables - commonly with red peppers and then you add your veggie of pleasure...eggplant or mushroom or...others) which is spreadable on bread. I can't believe they skipped those first ones (L.E. now i saw you got some after my comment :)) )

Love the vlog, these is exactly how traditions are passed down from the elders in the village. It's common to go "mushroom hunting" right after a rain. 15:20 Zacusca can be in different flavors, you can have eggplant zacusca, mushroom zacusca, etc. The base is the same, with red peppers etc., but then to get a different type you add either eggplants, or mushroom, or beans, or even fish and you can have fish zacusca. The most popular one is the eggplant one.
Hi guys 👋🏻 this is amazing , I never foraging wild mushroom before , I'll just pick them in the supermarket 😅 that mushroom picker guy must have years of experience in foraging , he knows all types of mushroom in that forest , really interesting 👍🙏🏻 Wow best part is seeing the two lovely hosts preparing mushroom dishes and entertaining you both like family 👍 awesome guys 😊🥰😘

Wild mushrooms fried in pork fat with garlic...God bless our grandparents, thank you for the beautiful advertisement for a country so rich but impoverished by others.
You know what i like most to this video, is the expert mushroom actually teach every young viewer how to pick and select mushrooms. Something that young people no longer get to learn or have no such experts to explain them the mushrooms and why some should be avoided. Had lot's of fun with you picking mushrooms with Sorin and Beni. You should value your experience in the places you stay on google maps, this is more likely to support them work and activity towards some other visitors :) He teach you survival stuffs in wildness ;)) . The language difference between you and him actually made this more fun, as he did his best to explain by body language what he means. Even i am thinking to pick mushrooms, now after seeing you guys :).
I'm loving all your videos. I remember collecting mushrooms when I was little and we were told not to pull them up but to cut them close to the base to leave the roots so they can regrow.
@Franco phile yes, i can try ;-) .....i´m 41 years old now, about 20 years ago i went with 2 friends in the forest to find some "funny" mushrooms.....we searched for "Spitzhut", a little brown thing, to have some fun ! We did not find any of those.....but we found a lot of "Fly Agaric"....so we took some of them and just ate ONE piece.....about 10 centimeter diameter, 2 young guys and a girl ! About 20 to 25 minutes later......the voices of the other two people got "slow motion".....and their faces got broad and tall ! We got all sick, very fast ! BTW.... i driven my car out of the forest, with this 2 young people....... PLEASE DON´T TRY THIS BY YOURSELF..... without a "Master" who knows how to prepare some poisonous mushrooms. Greetings from Vorarlberg / Austria
Gosh they are the greatest vloggers!! They travel into the deep of romanian villages! What a great place and day to spend with them. Salamat po. I'll always follow u wherever u guys travel ! Love and health ❤
Great fun foraging for mushrooms, the most sort after as you said was I believe was Porcini. There are so many variations of fungus that a local person is essential, some of the differences are so slight from being delicious or dead. When collecting mushrooms in Slovenia it is almost law to collect them in a wicker basket, this allows the spores to drop through, thus ensuring the supply. We went out and found some mainly chanterelles. Locals all have their favourite and most often, secret spots. Mushrooms can grow so quickly, we had a rainstorm one evening whilst having dinner and one hour later the owners collected mushrooms that had grown on the lawn of our Penzion.
This is video is so refreshing to see, as a kid growing up in Rep of Moldova we would go and pick up mushrooms and sell them on the side of the street, love watching you guys
Damn in less than a year, you saw and did more things in Romania, than many locals (including me). I envy you but at least I get a share of the fun via your channel - thank you for that!
they prepare mushrooms the same ways as we do in Czech Republic, well we have probably more variations of food from mushrooms, because here it is something like national sport to pick mushrooms
Steve, you have such a "gift" to find only deadly mushrooms!!! 🤣🤣🤣The one at 9:28 I think is The deathcap mushroom (Amanita phalloides), and the red ones are The fly agaric (Amanita muscaria). Don't even touch them with bare hands! I had so much fun watching this video!!!🥰🥰🥰
