On D-Day June 6, 1944 the 101st. and 82nd. Airborne paratrooped into the Cotentin Peninsula of Normandie. Colonel Sink and his 506th. met fierce resistance. The battle of Brecourt Manor led by Lt. Dick Winters performed admirable.
