Re-upload because original uploader closed his youtube, bringing down both his account and the videos altogether. I just happen to have (almost) all the tracks saved. This is by far the most complete collection of BL2 soundtracks, totaling at about 5 hours of music. Enjoy.

It’s amazing how much effort goes into a completely optional area
Yeah, the Caustic caverns are used for a handful of side quests and a cool couple of references and world building but that's about it. Other than that it's just an area full of the most annoying enemies in the game to fight.

@@lilacocto9103 omg yes. I've beaten BL2 probably 15-20 times and the lost treasure mission is by far my least favorite one, even if the caustic caverns has one of my favorite ambient tracks

Honestly it’s the lore in this map that made me realize how dark and depressing Borderlands deep lore is. All these family men, scientists, miners and such driven to madness while the corporation they worked under turned tail and ran without a second thought.
100%, surface level BL lore is nothing special, but it's the optional areas that really give you a reason to look deeper, and when you do you are rewarded, every time.
and then tried to kill the descendants of the people who worked there and take back sanctuary (fight for sanctuary DLC, where many important borderlands 3 characters are introduced, and the story of how all of pandora thawed out and became just desert)

I love it when Badass Pyro Threshers appear when you are already being overwhelmed by varkids and Land Thresehers. Love it. 😐

I wonder if the Crystalisks have any connection to the Eridians. In one of the audio logs where the Crystalisks seem to have been first discovered, the Dahl miner mentions she has found one by "alien ruins", and you'll see statues of Vault Gaurdians and arc formations around the place. At the Vault of the Warrior there's also those Volcanic Crystalisks too. Also does this mean that there's more Eridian ruins in The Fridge, perhaps under all that ice?

forgot how good this game was once you get past the pain in the ass first chapter. this theme suits Caustic Caverns really well, one of my favourite exploration themes in the game.
I feel about this during all my playthroughs, the start is really slow and kinda boring, but once your character gets going its fun

I love that there are hints of half life blue shift and opposing force in some of these soundtracks. Gearbox never forgets.

I played Borderlands 2 YEARS ago, but I still remember this area and this theme vividly. One of the highlights of the game tbh.
Oh God was this area INTENSE! But the music was so good

Every borderlands game has one map where things are dark and scary, from the music to the enemies:
Borderlands: Nine Toes Cave. The music here is the creepiest in the whole franchise (Traversing the Deep)
Borderlands The Pre Sequel!: Vents of Helios. Zombies.
Borderlands 2: Caustic Caverns.
Borderlands 3: Jakobs State. The ambient music in this map is awesome, really creepy

Atmosphere is unmatched
My favorite too. Had no idea it was optional my first time playing back in 2012. The atmosphere is almost crippling. I replay the entire game, sometimes, just to try to relive this monumental area
