Here is a simple and healthy Ragi Idli recipe for you:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup ragi flour (finger millet flour)
- 1 cup idli rice
- 1/2 cup urad dal (split black gram)
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
Instructions:
1. Wash the idli rice and urad dal separately and soak them in water for about 4-6 hours.
2. Grind the soaked urad dal to a smooth paste using water as needed. Transfer the batter to a bowl.
3. Grind the soaked idli rice to a slightly coarse paste. Mix it with the urad dal batter.
4. Add ragi flour to the mixture and mix well. Add salt to taste and mix thoroughly. Let the batter ferment overnight or for 8-10 hours.
5. Grease the idli plates with oil and pour the batter into the idli moulds.
6. Steam the idlis in a steamer for about 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
7. Once done, remove the idli plates from the steamer and let them cool for a few minutes.
8. Serve the delicious and nutritious Ragi Idlis hot with your favorite chutney or sambar.
