      I just had my transplant.
      I had the exact same thing but with a different clinic. The communication wasn’t that good. I didn’t actually sit down and explain what I wanted. I really wanted to draw on my head with the surgeon what I wanted. But it was just a vague goal of filling the gaps.
      During my operation I pointed at a place I wanted to make sure they filled the gap (the very front above my forehead). They didn’t do it which i discovered after removing the bandages.
      Also since I paid them money. I have been messaging them questions and they don’t really respond anymore.
      When they were selling me this product they answered in 10 seconds. But now they sometimes take days to reply or don’t reply at all.
      I have had to go to Google to get answers on serious questions. I do feel
      Like people who go turkey need to realise that the doctors are top notch but the service is terrible.

      I agree with you 100%. Today is my 8th day and I am back in home from turkey. Here are few things to look for .
      1. It is painful procedure. There is no needle free procedure.
      2. What ever clinic you go they will upsell you their services, So watch out.
      3. They will sell you their product no matter what.

    I’m so glad you’re honest in your video and reminded me of my experience. I almost felt very overwhelmed. When I got there, the consultant was very nice but he mentioned I didn’t have the best donor area and that made me question the transplant. After the drawing lines on my head, there was a young kid with a camera taking pictures and making me do poses which I didn’t like. Overall the hotel, service etc 7/10. Their communication can be a lot better, perhaps it’s just a culture or language barrier.

    Amit, great feedback. I literally just got back yesterday from my transplant from Vera Clinic. I do agree with most things you said. Very similar experience for me. I picked up a 6 month supply(Yikes) as I was told I absolutely need it and you're right; everything moved so fast that I just said yes so well see. I'm from the U.S and also went by myself just for this so indeed at times it was scary but hoping it all works out. Overall a good experience I'd say apart from a couple of things. Agree on the oxycure session a 100%. I knew I had to get on the plane the next day and the 1st session made me feel like I was on the plane so even though I paid for it I told them I wouldn't go for the 2nd session of it.

      I think the actual problem is them leaving the crown totally empty. If it was me, I’d prefer some density at the back in case I can’t do another procedure. Yes the frontal area won’t be as thick but it’s easier to camouflage and looks better if you have some hair vs completely bald

    • @amitposthair
      @amitposthair  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Usually on the second day after a HT, you'll need to go back to the clinic for a wash and follow up with the doctor. So realistically, you'll be only free after the 3rd day. I waited till the 4th day to fly back (my journey home was about 12 hrs). I would defintely recommend wait a day or two before flying, just so you're more comfortable with moving around with the banrages on your head!

    Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm heading there this coming Sunday and will be there for 5 days, doing there top package - the stem cell + oxygen thing. Feeling very nervous because I'm going alone, it's a traumatic experience, foreign country etc. Gotta put my big boy pants on I guess. Do they include giving you meals at the hotel as well or are just left to fend for yourself after they kick you out of the clinic each day?

    • @amitposthair

      once you're in the hotel they only provide free breakfast in the morning, but everything else is you gotta handle. But they do pick you up and drop you off to the hotel after each session. Honestly it isnt that bad, but if you have someone to go with it would be nicer for the company in the hotel room. But dont worry, you have this channel to give you company for any post care of your trnasplant if you need it! :D

    The more grafts they transplant in one session the higher the risk of transected follicles which means less survival rate, the longer technicians work the higher the chances of them making mistakes due to tiredness, the more follicles they transplant in one session the higher the chance of traumatizing your scalp, etc etc. High end clinics don’t do mega sessions, they try to stay under 2800 grafts for best results.

    • @grantthomas2727
      @grantthomas2727 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Curious about your opinion as I'm planning on going for a second HT in a few months (have been reading plenty of forums, watching videos, etc.). My first session was 3,500 grafts and I'm happy with the coverage but want more density and need to cover the crown. I'm 26 and healthy and have been told by both my first doctor in the US and by the online consultants in Turkey that I have a good donor area. I'm not sure if 4,000 this time around is too much, obviously don't want to overharvest but also am quite eager to get my hair to where I want it to. Does that seem like too much?

    • @tjed1071
      @tjed1071 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@grantthomas2727 personally I think it’s too much specially being the second procedure, I’m not saying you won’t get good results but you’re pushing your luck. It is very tempting to get 4000 grafts for a low price but make sure you have enough donor grafts with a microscope not just an online consultation before you pull the trigger and regret it the rest of your life, remember your safe zone for harvesting is very limited and not 100% of the grafts will grow the rest of your life so medication will be mandatory in order for you to keep your transplanted hairs. At 26 years old I would try medication first if you are not already on medication and see how you respond to it. Best of luck on your next procedure.

      I cant say much about Hair of Istanbul, but I can only recommend you Vera Clinic as I went there. It really depends on you and who you feel is a better option for your needs. I would suggest reaching out to the clinic and explain to them what you are looking for, they will definately be able to help you.
      I did take the package! The package included the hair transplant plus the two sessions of oxycure, which amounted in the total of 2850 Euros at the time i went.

    Thanks brother for your transparency good honest video. I had one FUT transplant already done 2 years ago. Truthfully you'll need a second transplant because you want to cover that crown area that's the reason why they asked you to come back. Typically the amount of hair they extract is enough per a portion of coverage you'll need in one transplant. Especially if they're knocking out several transplants a day they wouldn't want to spend those long hours on one person I'd imagine even though your obviously paying $$$ I couldn't imagine them working on one person for 12 hours or so that would be incredibly tiring. I hope you get great results and you return for the crown section. Perhaps it's better to go to a different clinic just to get a different experience hopefully satisfactory on every level. Thank you again 😊 I liked your detailed video.

    Hey mate, thanks a lot for this review I know it must be a bit nerve racking. Can I ask why you only got the front to mid hair done? .
    Also one major thing to note about Amir's video because many people do naturally compare/refer to his journey.
    I believe the fact he had a camera out and recorded A LOT of the steps where Dr's and others were able to be seen in that moment, as well as verbally explaining and asking them to explain or confirm etc obviously would have had a massive impact on how the Dr,s & other Nurses conducted themselves in that moment and throughout the day considering a camera phone is recording. Not to mention the considerably large following/audience Amir has here on TH-cam, that I do believe they would have been made aware of prior. I know I'm probably pointing out the obvious and don't want to come off as an arse I just think it's worth pointing out for anyone who perhaps hasn't taken these things into consideration when comparing their own Vera Clinic Journey. I also understand and agree with what your saying on the things about the service you experienced that weren't so great as I would have felt the same if I was fortunate to be in a position to get such a treatment too.

    • @amitposthair
      @amitposthair  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      My hair loss was pretty severe, and the doctor at the clinic told me if I want more desnity at the front, i'd have to forgo the crown for now, and come back for a second session to complete it fully. I wouldve much prefered to do the whole thing at that one time, but it was recommeded to let me donor area heal and regrow as they extracted quite a bit of grafts from it to just cover the front and mid hair.
      I agree! Alot of people will compare their experiences to Amir's, I know i definately did. And as someone who watched his videos, I definately thought it would be the same way. The reality is that yes the cameras were on and they were probably showcasing themselves as a certain way, but I guess that goes with any company that is trying to film an "adverstisement" I guess you can call it.
      Regardless, without those videos, it wouldve never encouraged me to get this done, so i cant complain too much about it. I'm happy with taking that step forward, and now hopefully i can pass on the information to those wondering if they wanna get one as well!

All these videos are really just to showcase the experience I had and what others can look out for in the future. All they gave me was a referral link which I could possibly get a discount for if I do another transplant from them, but in all honestly for me it's more about being as transparent as possible for others.
      I wouldn't rate then 5 stars cus there are still some flaws about them, but so far I'm seeing progress with my hair transplant so I still wouldn't say they are the worst. The first experience may not be what you expect but they still do produce results. Just my 2 cents

    I am in no way trying to ruin your experience. I am just torn on whether or not to go through with this after talking to a plastic surgeon who quit doing hair transplants. He works at the hospital I work at.
    He told me that he quit doing transplants because of the unrealistic expectations from patients. He said anything bigger than the size of your fist is not going to match the density of the rest of your hair.
    I am a Norwood 6 and I still have some hair that is slowly thinning. He said at Norwood 6, you are going to really thin out the donor areas and at best get a decent comb over if you let your hair grow out enough. He also said I will be on finasteride for life which most likely only greatly slow down the thinning of remainder hair or at best stop it. And if the non transplanted hair falls out, you will have bald patches all over your head and not enough donor hair to fix it...... We are semi friends and he finished by saying just shave your head and accept that it's gone.

    As someone who is leaving the airport after having a transplant done at Hermest in Turkey, I 100% agree with literally everything you said here.
    1. Felt very quick/impersonal/efficient once there. Very military-like. I should know, I’m in the active duty armed forces
    2. The shots definitely hurt. They didn’t mention that it would hurt at all, and that shit legitimately was painful. Doesn’t help that it’s about 20-25 shots and they’re one right after the other. I have a fairly high pain tolerance due to breaking several bones and tearing several ligaments, not to mention armed forces. And even I was definitely trying not to make it obvious it hurt (the guy giving me my shots even said “you are very strong sir”)
    3. Hermest only had 3-5 clients at the time I was there. They handled everything very well as you mentioned Vera did. Booking/hotels/transport was all top notch
    4. I also agree you should try to take someone with you. It was my first time traveling internationally, I had to drive 7 hours beforehand just to get to my airport and then had an 11 hour flight. I didn’t tell a single person where I was either. Family and friends were asking all weekend where the hell are you?? So not being able to talk to anyone about the process, traveling internationally for the first time, and a 20 hour travel day made for a fairly long day

      It's really best to get as much info from different clinics as possible. Each clinic will have their own sepaarte views on your donor area, so its good to get different opinions. It is also important to look at more trusted clinics and those with reputable testimonials. That will help in your decision in choosing the right clinic with the right advice.
