10lb Hogfish Challenge - 160 Mile Ocean Crossing to Great Harbour Cay - Bahamas Hogfish Spearfishing

In this video, we travel over 160 miles across the ocean in search of massive hogfish. Most of the Bahamian islands close to Florida have been fished out, and the real fish are found 90 miles across the bank.Our number one challenge for this trip was to shoot a Hogfish over 10 lbs, which we dubbed the "10lb Hogfish Challenge". Conditions on this trip were rough, the wind blew between 15 and 20 knotts the entirety of our trip, but we got it done anyways!
Great harbor cay is in the berry islands, the closest true "Out Island" to the states. This island lacks the casinos and resorts that you'll find in Bimini and Nassau, but the lack of tourist attractions keeps the fishing and diving pressure down. This is a perfect recipe for monster fish!
Along the ride you'll see us dive for massive hogs, as well as big dog snapper and huge cubera snapper. We also catch our limit of conch and show you how we make our conch salad in a quick "Catch Clean Cook" during intermission. On this trip, we did not see many black grouper which we found surprising!
