Yes, thank you! Ok, that's great to hear. Still might slow down though for any beginners out there watching! Thanks for your thoughts and I appreciate you watching! Have a happy holiday, mate! 😉
Thanks for this vid. I was wondering about forktail blue eyes as a tankmate. I've wanted to keep them for quite a while now but you sold me on the combo. Now I'm even more excited about setting up my new tank!!
That's awesome to hear! In my experience, they thrived together, because if the gourami gets a little nippy, the forktail is way too quick for it, and the forktail doesn't care about any other fish usually, so they make a great combo! Good luck with your fish girrl88 and thanks for watching!
Awesome stuff bro, I’m picking up my Gouramis tomorrow, I’ve made some cave systems for them and I think it’s gonna look great, thank you for the ideas. Keep it up
Great to hear Matt! They'll love the caves mate! Good luck with those Honey Gouramis! If you have any questions or run over any problems, I'm hear to help! Have a good one mate! 😄
@@Lazarusthefishboy Thanks, it’s actually been 2 days for me since and the 2 honey Gouramis are well established in a tank with a school of Siamese algae eaters, 10 male fancy guppies and a cobalt blue gourami the set up is awesome, you’re video definitely helped with the decisions. Cheers
@@MattStrike great to hear! Keep an eye on the blue gourami with honeys, as different types of gouramis together can be... unpredictable. But if they thrive well together, then there shouldn't be anything to worry about! Glad to hear this video helped and best of luck with your tank and fish mate!
Thanks so much for watching and the sub! Means a lot Sabrina and glad you enjoyed the video! Have a very Merry Christmas yourself and welcome to the community on this channel haha! Great to have you aboard and if you have any questions, feel free ask! Cheers! 😄

I LOVE rosy tetras (white tip) best fish ever. Initially I wasn't interested in them but then I got one rescue and I love him. I got more so he'd have a school and they are colourful and so cute to watch. You will never get bored with them, they are super robust fish as well.
Yeah, glad you think the same way! Thank you so much for watching!!! I will be making a whole care guide video on them soon! Have an amazing day, ShorKie! 😉
Loved your video and learned so much about many fish. I’m getting my first 2 honey gouramis on Wednesday. I’m so excited and I’m also getting some Platys too. You asked if you talked too fast to let you know. Well, I think because you talked fast, it required me to really listen hard, and I learned a lot. So in my humble opinion, although you did talk pretty fast, it wasn’t too fast! Great video! I look forward to watching more.
Wow! That's awesome, mate! Glad to hear. Hope you enjoy the experience again and learn a couple new things along the way! Thanks for watching mate and have a great day!
Wow! You are a very intelligent knowledgeable impressive young man! Great informative presentation kiddo. And no you were not too fast. I’ve only been in the hobby a few years with planted tanks and I have my first 2 honey gourami ever with a school of Forktails and a school of Corys. It’s a great combination. Being the honey gourami are slow, I do have to make sure they get their fair share of food, but they also like helping the Corys eat their food. They have good appetites! The problem I am having is, the two honey gourami are both male and have decided after living peacefully together for a few months, that they don’t like each other anymore. Have you had this experience? I will be removing one of them to another tank for the sake of peace. Everyone else is happy! Good luck to you! I can see your channel growing in the future and doing very well!
Yeah, I've seen with all gouramis they take a while to find the food haha. Male Gouramis in general get really aggressive, so usually best to have a species only tank with a bunch of females and a couple males, otherwise just one gender for a community tank. I had to separate my 2 Pearl Gouramis, and they were super peaceful afterwards. I didn't have any aggression in my two honey gouramis though, and they were both males. I guess you just get two aggressive males by chance! Thanks so much for the support and I appreciate you watching Connie! Have an awesome day! 😄
Note on Rams: Better off kept in species only tank because of picky parameter needs. Also, Rams like to pair off naturally. Throwing a random male in with a random female will not work. Its best to find a couple already paired off in the store.
Thanks for watching, man! Grabbing some botanicals or putting almond tea leaves in the tank will add tannins really nicely. Also non-boiled driftwood and leaf litter free of any pesticides or chemicals. Or you can add any caffeine-free teas, like herbal teas. Have a great day, Ackbar, and good luck with your tetras!
Hey there. If you happen to see this i have a question i want to get a hpney gourami or 2 but i have platy molly and guppys in a 20 long. Im not sure they would get along as i dont want to overcrowd.......but i kinda really want a lil gold guy to call my own 😅
Yeah as long as you've got adequate filtration, add a honey gourami, test the water to see how it reacts, and if it's fine and you get no deaths, you can get one more and have a pair if you want. It should be fine because all those livebearers you have are very peaceful towards gouramis. Good luck mate!
Thanks Ted! I probably do talk a bit slower now, but always makes my day to read these sorta comments! Thanks for watching mate and have an awesome day!
Hey quick question can i put 5 honey gouramis in my 29 gallon with 8 rummy nose rasboras a candy striped pleco 4 sparkling gouramis 3 yo yo loaches and 5 blue velvet shrimp
Yeah it sounds like it should be fine. Don’t know how they’ll go with the shrimp. They do have pretty small mouths but there’s always a chance they go for them. Everything else will work well tho mate 👍
They could get a bit curious and hungry at times but if you got an established shrimp colony with dense vegetation, it should be fine. Just keep the gourami well fed and it won't have the urge to eat any shrimp
