This channel is so underrated (probably not for long though). Not only is the host clearly a real professional with a ton of knowledge but he's also such a good speaker. Also, I know this sounds weird, but I find his tone of voice very calming. I would love to see a video about Ralph Lauren, or actually even several videos. I would personally be most interested in their somewhat more limited stuff like the Respect Wildlife collection or something similar but anything would be great.
It's all about presentation! A steak eaten in a beautiful Steakhouse is a very different experience than a steak eaten in a diner. The packaging is about evoking emotions. So paying attention to product and packaging is what creates a all encompassing product experience!
5:00 - This is indeed a bad example of branding variation. Cav Empt over-dying their arm-patch along with the entire garment are a good example of it. You can add variety to your labeling, so long as it's done intentionally and in character with your brand. Another great video, thanks for uploading. Break down of a Cav Empt hoodie or sweater - ideally something pre 2019 or a comparison with then and now - would be cool to see.
We'll definitely be brining it back! We are doing construction right now with our office. When we bring back the fittings we will be bringing alot more along with it!
I would like to know the brands you work with so we can support them. I'm not sure if that is a conflict of interest but they need to see the value you provide and vice versa.
Really Appreciate it! We are still not sure how to navigate sharing the brands we work with. We don't want to give favoritism and change the focus away from creating really awesome products with them to just marketing 🙏
Great advice about packaging. Obviously a brand like OVO sells to the glazers of drake, but an up and coming brand for sure needs to do this. Satisfy has great packaging and hang tags. Love their stuff. I guess I'm a satisfy glazer myself lol
I still wear the OVO merch I have, but this video convinced to never get OVO again. It's really just too overpriced for such basic stuff. I have to say that they were on point with marketing the brand and their products real strategically tho. Great video!
A little while ago I was at a cut n sew shop in the east end. The owner was giving me a tour of the facilities and I saw them unstitching Gildan labels from a large pile of black tshirts. I asked him about it and he gave me a smirk and said "its for a Toronto rapper. We'll be embroidering his logo and adding his label to these. Not worth the $80 but the kids eat it up!" A product is only worth what you're willing to pay.
I literally couldn’t care less about packaging. In fact, I hate excessive packaging, it’s bad for the environment and does nothing for me. If it was reusable, then it would make me happy. It’s sad to see companies like S.I spending so much on packaging to support their online sales. I’d rather my garment be made in house by people that love the company they work for. I used to love the fact that S.I was made entirely in house from start to finish. I didn’t mind paying a little extra for this. In fact, I wore my jacket with pride knowing almost everything was done in-house by people that were hopefully doing a job they love doing. Not saying people in China don’t love what they do, but they never see the whole, they only see their part. I’d like to see Chinese fashion brands of their own make it in Europe, not just support us lot with cheap labour.

Another great video. I like the idea of nicer bags/tissue for the basic packaging, I would like to see a video about that.
You got it!
Agreed 👍 ❤
Great video. Would definitely love to see one about packaging
On it!
@@Shiftfashiongroup I agree that’d be an interesting video, I always appreciate and never forget nice packaging!
You absolutely should make a video about packaging. It's unfortunately an often overlooked part of clothing brands.
depends... the garment should speak for itself and not the packaging... I've seen amazing packaging to cover up the shitty quality of a piece.
@@SonOfOdin777 The garment is priced at 10x its real value. You are paying for the brand and the experience. You should expect good packaging.

I’ve seen designers purposely leave their labels in garments before garment dying to show “proof” it was garment dyed…
😂 if they need to do that then they need to work on building trust and a good reputation with their customer base instead
lol why did you have to wagwan delilah me ffs was not expecting that
😂😂😎😎
Debossing is not raised. Embossing is raised.
Correct
You should do a video on WonderLooper, a new made in Japan company. Specifically the 701gsm sweatshirt.
Awesome video, as always. Please do an overview of Nike's NOCTA sub-brand, and how's the quality compared to the OVO brand.
Will do!
NOCTA quality better no cap
I really wanted to grab the new OVO line for Canada Skateboarding and this has me feeling pretty glad I haven't jumped on it...
Great series
Very cool concept! I just subbed and I will be consulting your videos before spending a bunch of money on clothes from now on :)
Awesome! Thank you!
Garment dye, pigment dye and mineral wash are all different techniques with different results it would be helpful to have those breaking down as well
We will!
Great video! I miss those parts where you’d wear the pieces and display their fitting before cutting them up, though.
We'll definitely be brining it back! We are doing construction right now with our office. When we bring back the fittings we will be bringing alot more along with it!
Would really like to take apart a garment dyed t-shirt that you think is the best in the market, and do a quick comparative analysis.
Thanks
We're finding out together!

@@Shiftfashiongroup thx 🙏🏻
Loving the content man, one day you should take apart some denim. I recently got my first pair of Japanese selvedge and it go crazy
We have a pair of purple denim in the Lab! Joe has been avoiding it because it takes so long to take apart denim 😂
@@Shiftfashiongroup Awesome! Your guys content is really for the people! 👖

At the end of the day a brand that will stand the test of time is great product + great marketing
You just gotta look for the material for certain things, some clothes are made in Canada and those are better quality

I wasn't #teamkenny before but this t-shirt teardown persuaded me
Now say O…V HO… OVHO
Funny
guy wearing a black shirt says he wouldn't wear this black shirt
One is a heavy weight pima cotton t shirt that is tight knit. One is just a basic tee shirt designed to check enough boxes to sell
