i think the reason for the witch buff is because in java sense they nerfed the raid farms. and raid farms in java was a source of alot of Redstone. they had to buff witches to balance the need for Redstone.

Omg the old piston sound was great they just needed to lower the volume
I know I've said it before but I feel like the main problem with the new piston sounds is that it just sounds too "wet"

They destroyed Java raid farms which was Java main source of redstone
Didn't like also effect bedrock raid farms?
They are no longer 100%automatic

@@shilasarkar6003 we were talking how to farm redstone. Java players use stacking raid farms since they are easy, Bedrock players, at least myself, find the witch farms easier for plentiful redstone.
Ngl thats a good thing, raid farms were too op anyways. Lets see how people like mining redstone now 😊

Tango Tek was complaining about raid farms being nerfed and not having a good redstone source anymore.
The piston now sounds like a washing machine 😂 Major nerf is to raid farms….in re redstone….the whole raid-won’t-start-until-you-manually-implement-it thingy.
for those wondering about the 2 capes coming to java, they will be there on June 8th. Just make sure to redeem the codes before June 30th to get the capes on java
so, petrified oak slabs: long story short they have been flattening the ids for blocks gradually throughout 1.20. Three previews ago they have flattened stone slabs and accidentally deleted the petrified oak slab for 1 preview, so they added it back in the following preview. that's it no updates have been made, the only change is that you can get it directly with a command. no arbitrary data values are required
Someone please save all of us by making the piston to have the old sounds
On one hand, i think the new piston sound being more subtle is actually good for a few Extremely popular uses of pistons in general gameplay. Like secret doors. It’s not a secret if someone can hear one is in the vicinity from like ten plus blocks away in any direction.
It also wont be as jarring when a contraption at yours or a friends base suddenly fully activates next to you.
On the downside, you are entirely right in that the classic sound seems much more powerful, like a large amount of force was suddenly exerted. And hearing that resounding noise from a massive contraption, like a tree farm, and watching it not literally disassemble/harvest itself at the same time is pretty rewarding. And i will miss that feeling.
agreed. honestly if Mojang is gonna go this route with silencing the pistons, just make it a separate item in the game so we have the OG Loud Pistons and then change the crafting recipe slightly to make the Silent Pistons. I think that would be the best move that way both sides of players are happy.
Old pistons= sounds like wood metal and rock, like how items were made in the good ol days.
New pistons=sounds like cheap plastic that will break any second....
But i kinda like the new sound. The old sound was really obnoxious. But it will be weird and different.

If you think the sound of pistons is too loud just turn down the redstone volume slider. Or if you like hearing the sounds of other devices there are resource packs such as vanilla tweaks (and bedrock tweaks, it's port to BE) that have an option for that.
Reason redstone drops are more is because some mojang employee was playing Minecraft and needed redstone from there farms. Can’t tell me other wise

It's cool that the witch farms are better now, but i still can't get them to work on my server even though everything works fine on normal worlds.
New piston sound honestly sounds like two things
1. Lego building sound effect
2. The timed switches from Ocarina of time
I actually don't mind the new piston sounds, they are less ear-killing, but yeah it is weird

Anyone that hasn’t yet. Stack up on wither skulls & tridents I guess. Possibly tridents too like suggested but I hardly see it needed as they clog up storage so often.
this doesn't effect skull drop rates.
The problem with the looting change is that it’s balanced around big farms. I don’t do big farms, so for me getting less armour and bows is going to be very bad
Now they just need to fix the problem with the Deep Dark that was fixed with mobs spawning everywhere.
I know most technical servers are running out of redstone even though they have op raid farm, so witch buff may be what they have wanted I think.
I always got my Redstone from clerics... but this change has me wanting to build a witch farm now.

I always kept the gold swords from my gold farms in a chest near my anvils if they had a ton of enchantments on them an would disenchant them for that last nudge of xp I always seem to need
Or just expand your gold farm and you'll get more XP. A quad portal ticking gold farm gets you to level 30 in under 2 minutes
All the changes sound okay to me. I'm definitely in the quieter-piston sound faction, and I can deal with the 30% gold reduction due to the lower volume of swords.
Any plans on the futur raid farm ?
Gonna be spending a lot more time at my raid farm than I am currently so I can get the easy witch kills and fill up my redstone storage

I think the redstone buff is because of the new crafted. I am constantly running out in my own world, so this is a huge change!
What about all the bows being used in the Redstone devices!??? They were very easy to get ahold of in the past

Hey silent. Always look forward to your videos. Are the villager nerfs coming in this update, or is still an experiment? Cause I want to nerf the nerf by building a villager breeder in every necessary biome then make an ice highway or rail network to them, possibly in the nether, all to a central trading hall. Should I prep that or continue with standard orthodox methods because it’s still an experiment, or is it implemented in the update

From my experience, I watched 15 minutes of Stream and after that, I got the notification in my inbox about the code. After that, obviously I redeemed the code on the Minecraft official website. That's how I got the Twitch cape.
You still can get the code before 1 June.

they increased the drop rate of witch because they nerfed raid farms and for many people like me the main source of redstone is raid farms.
Just got the twitch cape..... didn't care about the tiktok one though.
If tridents are also nerfed, it went from 37% drop rate to 28% drop rate with Looting 3.
As someone who has spent hours mining for shulkerboxes of redstone dust, I am very grateful for the increased drops.
I actively avoid using pistons in my redstone because I find them terribly obnoxious. That said, I don't think the sound itself is bad. They are just waaaaay too loud.

I am not upgrading my world to 1.21. The less looting from trident killers, raid farms COMPLETELY NERFED, pretty much everything in 1.21 is what is making me stay on version 1.20.13.
Are they taking redstone away from villagers? That is the only reason I can think of for the buff.

I bought java and bedrock for 20 without a discount about a year ago. Why its 40 as full price 💀
I think the main issue with farming mobs. they all have overlapping loot. Witches drop redstone. But clerics sell redstone. Which is safer and easier to farm. If the mobs each had something a villager could not provide. Then I def made a farm from another mob like a witch. It gives more desire to do. Sorry, still no interest in farming, hager, and her sister. No need. (Hands ems to cleric villager for redstone) later.
