ABOUT ME
My name is Odette, I have a background in Economics and spent most of my time creating new Google Sheets spreadsheets for my Etsy shop: Haye Ameri. I try to design spreadsheets that are functional but minimalistic and aesthetically pleasing in design that will hopefully not only make keeping track of your business or personal finances a bit easier, but also more fun!

I love your budget spreadsheet. It’s the best I’ve seen from most of them out there. The one thing it is missing and I’d love to see added is a column in the Spending category that shows how much is left to spend for each category. It’s great to see what has been spent but it would be better to see what is left. Then this spreadsheet would be 100% perfect!

I get paid every week so I'm looking for an app or excel formula that will look at all my income and the dates I get paid, then look at all my bills per month and plot out where to pay them during the month (example.. I have $100, bill is $120, so then it automatically figures out how to spread that out).
Do you offer an app or something that will do this for me?
@@kbanghart hi! I recommend saving up a small amount so you're not living paycheck to paycheck. Solves this problem immediately! If you're budgeting already, and can save even 1-2 thousand dollars, keep that in the same account your paychecks are sent to. Then you just spend less than you make and pay bills before they're due.
@@Bisola_Adekoya I have zero-based budget, but I also use sinking funds, so they carry a balance.

Mine doesn't work at Mobile Phone. I can't see any graphics and spreadsheets. Guess it's only for PC or Laptop. I updated things on my laptop. Then, few hours later to update on my mobile, graphs, charts and data were all gone.

The Google Sheets app is more limited in design. All graphs and info work but it hides numbers (such as left to spend) as the backgrounds are made white instead of transparent, sorry about that!

Can you add more columns? I have more income sources. And can this be like 12 tabs and then one master for the year?
hello! will changing the color of the different headers and such mess up the formulas?
It will not! You can change these to whatever colour you like.
This has some nice features but when I bought it there were a few faults - Budget I - the spending chart wasn't added and Budget II had columns (Actual) in Income, Savings and Expenses colored out with a warning not to change it. It doesnt match this tutorial video.

We have updated it to allow for more features, the most up to date video is linked on the read me tab.
The spending chart should be on both tabs and the second tab has a different setup where you add all the transactions in the log, but we explain this in more detail in the new video but if you have any other questions send us a message!

Unfortunately there is no easy option to put them in order. It might be easier to duplicate the template and then one by one readd them in order, sorry about that!

You could duplicate the tab 12 times to create monthly overviews. Unfortunately we do not have any add ons that are compatible with this spreadsheet to create an annual overview, but we have other spreadsheets available that do have this compatibility if you want to check these out!

Hi, I loved the Budget planner and plan to purchase as well. But I'm confused what is difference betwern Budget and Actual? What are we supposed to write in Actual field? Also, Is currency option avaiable in PKR?

It works with any currency, you just replace the dollar sign on the top left with your currency sign or abbreviation.
And budget is for those who want to plan their budget, so plan ahead where they want to spend their money. Then in the actual fields you keep track of when you have actually spend the money. So in there you write the actual amounts!
I love your sheet. I don’t have the budget yet to purchase this but I am trying to recreate your sheet but I am not sure how you did the charts as it won’t automate just like yours. Did you do pivot on this one? I hope you can maybe explain how you did this please?

Glad to hear you like it! None of our charts are made with pivots, they are created with formulas.

On the Google Sheets app the backgrounds are white instead of transparent so the number is not visible. Unfortunately the app is a lot more limited in design and function. The number is still visible in the cash flow overview on the left!
I purchased this and went to download and nothing occurred it just asked to me sign in to account again and when I did that purchase was nowhere to be found. Didn’t get an email receipt. No indication that I made a purchase other than my account being charged. Not sure if this is a scam or what but not cool.

When you add expense categories up top (under the orange expense header) the dropdown will automatically update will all your expense categories!
Hey I just wanted to will I have to duplicate tab for each month.
We do recommend this to start with a empty expense tracker each month. This way you will not have to delete anything :)

You cannot edit the categories but you can edit the subcategories in both this template and the monthly budget +!
@@HayeCreatives As in I cannot edit the Bill and Expenses as they are main categories. But I can remove grocery and write/create new subcategory of stationary instead? Right?
Exactly. So bills, expenses, savings, income and debt cannot be changed but all the subcategories can!

what is the difference between expenses and the expenses tracker below?
The expense tracker that is below is for individual transactions, the expenses section up top shows the total!
So, to create the next month... Do I save and copy the original to start from again?

@HayeCreatives thank you. I love the product and have had a few friends purchase as well. I have another question. At times I am not able to make changes to the (actual) categories. It shoes the code instead?
That is very kind of you! The actual subcategories have formulas in them that load the totals for you so we do not recommend changing those! If you enter the transactions in the log below the totals are calculated for you by these formulas :)

The breakdown chart shows where your income went so how much went to savings, debt, bills and expenses!
There is also a spending breakdown where you can see exactly where your money went with a breakdown of all subcategories!

On the top left in the orange overview section, right next to start date and end date you can change the dates! It will update the month on the top automatically.

There is a new version included that has the option for an annual tab add-on so you can see a month by month breakdown. This will be linked on the NEW! tab!

It won't automatically add the amount to the expense column. how do I fix this?

It could be that the formula was deleted! Send us a message on Etsy so we can help to resolve your issue.
Be sure to also check the following:
* Are you using it in Google Sheets? The spreadsheet will not work in Excel
* Was the amount added as 10.00 and not 10,00? Google Sheets cannot read the latter.

How do you change the date on the budget sheet
You can adjust this on the top left! Double click on the field and a calendar will pop up where you can select the date.

Why is my actual in my expenses not populating?

This is taken from the expense tracker section below. If it is not populating be sure to check if you entered your expenses as "10.00" and not "10,00", Google Sheets is standard set to read numbers with a "." not a ",". And be sure to check if for each row a subcategory is selected.

Do you mean in this template or in Google Sheets? In this template all charts shown are preset and will update automatically when you start adding info!

Thank you for your message. This spreadsheet, our simple budget, can be used monthly but we offer a monthly budget spreadsheet as well.
The main difference is that this is a one tab spreadsheet, our monthly budget, however, has multiple tabs. It has a separate log tab where you enter all transactions (income, savings, bills, expenses and debt). In addition it has a calendar tab that can be used to keep track of bills and payments as well as a priority tracker.
Our monthly budget is also set up to be compatible with our add-ons, such as our annual overview, the account balance tracker and more. These add-ons are not compatible with the simple budget.

You can change it on the top left in the overview section. Simply click on the field, hit the backspace button and then type in your own currency sign.
