- My two year anniversary of filming Pomona Swap Meet. We had great weather for this one with temperatures in the mid eighties. Hundreds of classic cars, muscle cars, lowriders, hot rods, customs, pickup trucks, antique autos, Volkswagens, and other vehicles of interest on display and in many cases for sale.

Question for you and your viewers..... I'm a Ford guy. But we have a 1959 Chevy Apache setting in the field at our old homestead. Been there as long as I can remember. And I'm 52. I know nothing about Chevy's. The badge on the side says 38 Apache. What does the 38 mean? It's titled as a car hauler. And does have the ramp bed, dual axles, the whole 9 yards on it still. I've debated on selling it. My son wants to do a rat rod on it. I didn't know what the 38 meant. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks
The 38 means its a 3800 series one ton truck. Make sure you update the wheels if it has the original split rims.

I've been watching you since you were way under 10 k subscribers. Enjoy it. I have a 29 roadster pu, 30 Ford fordor, 72 jeep commando and a 50 Jeepster. But I love VWs. Wish you spent more than 1:18 seconds on them. Just my opinion. Thanks for what you do.
By the time I got to the VWs I was very tired and most had already left. There is another guy who films just the VW section.

There's a guy named "Steve" who sells bicycle parts near or on an end cap back from the entrance... I would avoid doing any business with him whatsoever.

Kissel was one of those companies that pretty much died during the depression. I believe they used a Continental 6cyl engine.
There were hundreds of automakers back in those days that didn't make it to more modern times.

Mike I really like the way you film and present these cars. Thank you. I have noticed that there are very few Mopars, at these California shows, especially from the Virgil Exner years, is this common for California shows?
Many of the California rust free examples have made their way to Sweden. There are forward look cars that show up at local shows. I have a '59 Plymouth wagon myself that I need to get working on someday.

A couple of months back you showed a 52 Ford with a flat head engine that was a 51 engine not a 52 were V8s then they use up the flat heads before they install the V8s
Ford put flathead V8s in US cars until 1953. The Y-Block started in 1954. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_flathead_V8_engine
Mike, most people don't know that the swap meet section at Pomona is as long as the car show. It would take twice as long to video it without stopping for a deal here and there. You need someone else to video it for you
There's simply no time to film the parts section. I wouldn't even know how to keep it interesting for the viewer. "JohnIsRusty" has filmed the parts section as a vendor and his channel is worth a look if you're more interested in that part of the swap meet.
Love this channel. Wish you would travel to the Eastern states to do videos.

1953 was the final year. They went to the Y-block V8 in 1954
