    My dear friends, " I need your precious help"
    One question please , if we (1) Reduce the rpm of the Generator and if we (2) Increase the rpm of the Generator what changes we can see and how the Generator will perform with 100% load or 80% load is my question.
    ( 1)
    Increase in rpm :-
    If the Generator having 2 pole or 4 pole with single phase or 3 phase running on 100% load or 80% load with increased RPM from 1500 to 1800 rpm ( the Generator original design RPM is only 1500 ) if there is an increase of 300 RPM more than the original rpm what will happen ,
    (2)
    Decrease in rpm :-
    If the Generator having 2 pole or 4 pole with single phase or 3 phase running on 100% load or 80% load with decreased RPM from 1500 to 1200 rpm ( the Generator original design RPM is only 1500 ) if there is an decrease of 300 RPM less than the original rpm what will happen ,
    To correct this imbalance and mainten proper Hz , amps and volts what should be done or what is the best solution.
    Please give me the details, a humble request 🙏

      1. Low speed with excitation - overfluxing phenomenon will occur, protection present at both avr and Grp to trip the machine. Gen designed for a certain v/f ratio and if ratio exceeds that limit of manufacturer then machine may damage due to heating, Stator end is weakest zone during overfluxing. Load angle and MW will reduce instantly. Oscillations in mw may occur and governor will try to bring back to normal rpm.
      2. If high rpm then chances of pole slip, heating due to eddy currents. Overfreq prot at Grp may act. Load angle and MW will increase instantly and oscillations may occur incase sufficient de accelaration torque present to control pole slip.

      @@drsrinivasbhaskarchaganti3653 In my experience I have seen first line of action is control by speed governor and second line of action is initiating trip by protection system.

    One question: When the rotor carrying dc field current rotates, it produces a rotating magnetic field. So is that rotating field moving relative to the rotor or is it moving with the rotor with zero relative speed between them?

    • @electrocean6684
      @electrocean6684  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rizwan Khan rotor magnetic field is aligned with the rotor but the resultant field will have different axis but relative speed is zero wrt rotor

    • @RizwanKhan_99
      @RizwanKhan_99 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      So would that resultant field create back emf or self induced emf in the rotor?

    • @electrocean6684
      @electrocean6684  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rizwan Khan " Induced"

    can you plz explain why would class-B (or turbine trip )is initiated due to negative sequence overload.Because it is rotor of generator which is getting overheated due to negative sequence component not turbine.

    • @electrocean6684
      @electrocean6684  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      hitchandan27
      Rotor winding or stator winding both are classB, because overload withstand capacity (in time duration) is much higher than the time delay of generator isolation through classB trip

    • @hitchandan27
      @hitchandan27 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Point me if I am wrong ,but when ever is tripping is initiated because of fault in generator then it is termed as class-A trip .if trip is initiated to protect turbine then it is termed as class -B trip .

    • @electrocean6684
      @electrocean6684  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      hitchandan27
      Yes you are absolutely correct,
      But in some conditions where delay is possible we can trip the turbine from gen relay and gen will be isolated by pickup of low forward power protection in relay
