Vault 44 was the antithesis to Vault 87, and it's Supermutants. This is where the Human-man Warrior experiment escaped.
They blasted Rock music while they slept, ate only steaks and protien powder, and only watched movies filled with action and TV shows with positive parental role models as the main characters.

I didn't freaking realize over an hour or 2 later until I saw in the comments that literally they put "vault 44" in honor fo Thick44. May his name live on in this community, we miss you Thick44.
Sometimes I feel that I missed out, coming into the channel when Thick was not well and only really doing cameos.
That said, my first quotable phrase I picked up, was indeed from Thick. It was "Those Canadian's are fucking crazy, I'm moving to Canada!"

For sure can’t wait to see more, what all is in it and the guys’ interactions with everything. Hoping that they group up with the Rad Cats and somehow all get some armor. Seeing them all patrolling the Mojave in some slick suits would be pretty rad.
Totally, hope this one will get a lot of updates. Playing 7 days to die in Fallout universe sounds like an amazing idea.

The first thing to ever kill me in a fallout game was a deathclaw within 5 minutes of starting fallout new Vegas back when the game first released like 10 ish years ago. XD second thing was a swarm of bees a few minutes later. I was NOT used to the way these games worked.

Hell, you not dying to radscorpions already meant you better than most players. Though that may be me from FO2 speaking, since radscorpions from Interplay was less deadly than FO3 n FNV.

I remember watching the Lunchlady video and keeping my own personal death counter. Dora and Neebs combined kept that ticking over nicely.

The Long Dark was better as a duo for sure but Appsro's solo prelude video? One of the better let's play type videos I've seen. Simon was great playing Poppy's Playtime by himself as well.

I was legitimately surprised at how much I enjoyed Simon solo gaming, when I watched Poppy's Playtime.
At the time I came into the channel, Simon was getting a lot of crap (iin the youtube commenrs) about being burnt out, annoying or generally an awful gamer and not in a good natured ribbing way. It's hard for some of that to not stick with you, when you don't know about them much as individuals being new to the channel.
Now though? I've come to really appreciate them all for different reasons and some of my favourite moments are when Simon succeeds at something.
Seeing the Vault 44 at the beginning gave me a smile like you won't believe. Love y'all, keep doing what you do.

Probably the most excited I've been for a new series in awhile. Always love your content, but this is a mix of two of my favorite games/series which elevates it to another level.
The vault door rolling was cool
Appsro referring to the lockpicking minigame as "skyrim like" while playing a fallout inspired mod with fallout being the bethesda game that first introduced that style of lockpicking is hilarious and infuriating.

To whom it may concern, most radioactivity from a standard nuke is gone after 24 hours. withing a week its safe enough to go outside. 2 weeks and your fine outside long term. There are other types of nukes that intentionally make tons of radiation for example cobalt bombs.
Note that Airburst Vs ground burst also matters.
Which is where things get funky.
An Airburst is more destructive, it's used to destroy installations, factories, troop columns and cities. However, most of fallout would not be dispersed immediately over the area, so, with the more energetic and short-lived isotopes, 48 hours post nuke is safe. Likely higher background radiation but not likely to be dangerous.
A ground burst is used against hardened targets.... Like the ICBM siloes. This results in more radioactive fallout.
While fallout would have settled within 48 hours, approaching the blast crater is ILL advised, as long lived isotopes would be concentrated there.
This also depends on how many nukes n etc, esp since these would be strategic counterforce, aka aimed at nukes, the radiation will last much longer as nuclear material from your own nukes is also there.
Otherwise, the dangers of post nuclear exchange 48hrs later would be consuming or inhaling radioactive isotopes, although none of this is likely to be immediately lethal. Think cancers and like, although contaminated water may build up significant amounts of isotopes.
In general though, if you living in a city without strategic targets nearby (nuke silo, submarines, bombers), 2 weeks post exchange should be perfectly safe as long as water is filtered/treated.
With nuke siloes nearby, waiting 2 weeks should be safe to exit the bunker, but don't eat/drink from nearby sources and evacuate carefully, avoiding places where the nukes drop.

Thats the thing folks don't understand about any of the new ones. its Hydrogen, not uranium, so less radiation but much bigger boom.

This mod looks fantastic and I'm excited to see the crew back in 7dtd. Just enough difficulty to add natural excitement and the only game simmon enjoys enough to push himself forward.
I've been hoping you'd do this ever since I watched Guns, Nerds, and Steel do his playthrough.
Edit: Pretty sure the bowling balls are the ammo for the nuke launcher.
I like it better when the guys are playing as a team. I also like the chaos of this series. Nice mix of 7days and Fallout. Appsro saying "I am just going to shut the door" was great.
A new 7DTD series is a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.

Im halfway through episode one and have laughed SO hard on multiple occasions. I hope this is a VERY long-running and new series that will continue with multiple seasons. Thank you for the endless hours of entertainment through the years. Also Vault 44 was a fantastic homage.
I'm certain if anyone on the crew even sees this they will forget it, but just so yall know, nuclear fallout from a reactor Luke chernobyl lasts along time because the materials used to make nuclear energy are still present, but in a nuclear bomb, the nuclear materials break apart and spread out, and to oversimplify it, an average nuke would only have damaging levels of nuclear fallout for around 2 weeks

In my own head cannon of this, this series picks up after the series where Dora made the massive death hole under the huge wooden inn thing and they been trapped in a bunker down there since, lmao

Worst early game weapon. Not terribly fond of it later, either.
Currently using the spear a lot. Probably best melee weapon for horde nights, due to reach. Club is all around excellent. Pipe baton is okay early, but gotta switch to stun ASAP. I always have a knife on my hotbar. Mostly for harvesting, but also for melee backup. Especially early game, when stamina is such an issue - tag 'em w/ bleeds and evade until stamina regens.

Technically speaking you only need to stay in a fallout shelter for 8 weeks after the nukes..... I literally just watched a fallout documentary talking about this right before this episode
One of my uncles lived in Kansas, some tiny town I've since forgotten the name of. Some of the buildings had nuclear fallout shelter stickers on the windows. It was pretty strange to me at first. But he was so sure that those bunkers were maintained and clean and filled with years-worth of supplies. He never believed me when I told him years in such a small space just want realistic.
I think this is as close as we're going to get them to playing Fallout 76. I'd love to see a mini series of 76, or even a couple of episodes of the guys TRYING to survive the wasteland.
That would be cool, especially since they adding that new area next month

the one where you guys were basically "solo" in competition wasn't really hitting the same like when you guys play together in team and complement each other amazingly.
Fun fact, nuclear radiation is particulate based. Meaning as the radioactive dust blows away radiation levels fall. It only takes a couple weeks for radiation levels to fall to safe levels depending on wind/rain etc.
