so far the only thing I don't like about this game is being limited to 2 stances at a time. it seems like it woulda been better if you were able to hold left or right on the d-pad to bring up a stance wheel to select whatever stance you wanted hotkeyed to that button at any time, even if this was something that was only unlocked in NG+.
The stances could've been done in a similar way like Ghost of Tsushima, where we can switch between 4 stances very quickly. We could just click once for a stance then click and hold the same dpad button for a different one or something like that
As much as I would like to have this feature in the game now I feel like they're going to save that for the potential third and final game with several other stances available
@@laynesinclair6170 i mean... What other variations of lightsaber combat you think there could be, aside from these 5? Blaster stance is also OP against big bosses like Spawn of Oggdo. All you need to do is use charged shots right in his face which stuns it and then do a normal attack and charged attack again etc. It stun locks everything.
I beat that cheat double ogdo fight on like third try with this tactic, and swapped slow crossguard stance for good. Never leveling that stance specially with the buffered combat system and the poor framerates on any performance mode (and I play on ps5)
Blaster/Crossguard has been my set up for almost my entire playthrough at this point. I like Double-Bladed most stylistically but can't doubt that blaster effectiveness!
Yep, blaster stance used form 2 makashi like Dooku, compared to the ataru style of the single saber, or the jar'kai style of the dual saber, or the soresu style of the crossguard saber.
I like playing with crossguard and blaster stance. Blaster stance when fighting light enemies. When you have to wait for someone to close in you can use crossguard stance to uppercut them.
With crossguard stance you get drop kick. Just sprint towards an enemy then press attack button to perform it. This staggers them a little giving you time to evade or do a follow-up attack. Use this with mullet for Road House trophy/achievement
I find it hard to put down the single bladed old vanilla lightsaber. It just looks right. Usually run that and dual wield bc it’s new. Double bladed is so OP now. Feel like dual wield needs some timing buffs to its attacks. Like instead of pausing to flurry, just hold attack like the double blade. Also should have a force attack and the force parry could be like both bumpers at same time instead.
You are playing it wrong mate, you can animation cancel from any chain with dual wield, making it the most risk free style you can quite literally spam light attacks, start chain, hold left bumper and dash out. Try it out.
I find myself torn between using crossguard + double bladed or crossguard+ dual wield. I'm a huge fan of double bladed weapon's in games but using dual wield (fastest stance) and crossguard (slowest stance) feels really good 😅
I'm also a dual wield and crossguard main but mostly dual. The amount of pressure with that stance I can do in tandem with perks that basically obliterate an enemies block meter is obscene 😂
I used dual wield until I got blaster + cross guard but then swapped blaster back to cross guard + dual wield after a few hours. Blaster is super fun but I love being able to cancel attacks into parry at any moment, plus you can parry into dodge to avoid unblockables too
Air dashing through forcefields reminds me of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. You essentially do the exact same thing to bypass biometric forcefields in that game. I think it was called "phantom dash."
I said to my friend when I started playing that this game is pretty much Ratchet and Clank with a Star Wars skin haha, ngl this game hits all the right spots and was an instant classic for me.
The 2 stance limit gives me the issue of "Man Idk what to choose." Like I really enjoyed using Dual Saber, but once I unlocked blaster and crossguard I set those up as my 2 stances. I kinda don't like crossguard at all, but I know it's useful in certain circumstances. Blaster is quite a bit of fun though, so I see that sticking around even if it's not necessarily as "good" as double bladed probably is. Really my only "issue" with the game is that you have 5 different weapons but only 2 slots, and so I personally struggle to choose. If they make a 3rd game, I'd love a super fluid weapon change up like what God of War has. Swapping freely between all 5 stances could be amazing, just not sure there's enough buttons to do it lol.
I kinda like the specialization it demands. Makes each play through feel unique and gives me a reason to keep playing the game after I beat it. That’s my take tho
Yeah, remapping prevented me from taming animals. I was stuck on the screen where Cal tries to tame a flying mount (I forget the name) for a solid 30+ minutes. Turns out you can't change it from R1 because you only "tame" a few times so it's not in the controls page to remap. I had put pull to R1, changing focus to L2, and the game even said "press L2 to tame" in the cinematic to tame the animal, but it wouldn't work and Cal would just stand there with his hand out. A friend suggested resetting the controls to default and that fixed it. Had I gone back to those controls after, I wouldn't have been able to call mounts either. Basically, there's some controls that aren't even listed on the remapping page and if anything is changed to that button (even if you remap THAT one to another one), the preexisting control won't work. First game I've ever encountered with this problem.
@@Im_Blitz yeah it’s really dumb. I’m pretty sure it’s due to how remapping works and it sucks that you can’t see everything, once you unmap something everything tied to that button is removed. It’s really dumb tbh, I scrapped remapping as soon as I saw that.
