Also San Isidro has a huge farmers market. I forget what day it is but I have been there and found organic produce too. Don’t miss it for super deals straight from the growers.
You are correct. Happens every Thursday. But I usually seem to miss it, but I can go anytime at my favorite produce place...but I think you can get even better deals at the La Feria...you are talking about in town.
I actually really appreciated seeing the inside of the big chain store! I had been wanting to see the inside of one as I had been hearing "you can't get this" or "you can't get that" in CR and just from the brief clip I was able to see a little selection of what is offered in these stores.
I'm thinking about actually doing a walk thru of a couple big stores...for example Walmart and some other big or popular grocery stores here...would that be interesting to you?

Yes of course! San Isidro is nice and comfortable...but if you want to get even cooler...go either Tinamaste which is in between San Isidro and Dominical Beach or go up the mountain from San Isidro to Rivas... The Closer you get to Mount Chirripo the cooler it gets.

@@warriorqueen8285 Correct mostly. Perez Zeledon is a huge Region. You can look at it as a state with a lot of cities inside. San Isidro, Tinamaste, Rivas...all great place to live, grow garden, etc and are cities that are within Perez Zeledon
I live out past pejibaye in the mountains, if I have to go to Perez it's by bus, do a quick trip around for what meds I need and get out asap. Way too bustling and noisy for me.

Driving ATVs on the highway is legal if you have plates. Most every ATV in CR has plates and gets inspected each year. If you have plates on your side by side...you should have no problems traveling on the highway. What is a Pacudamundo???
@@OffTheGridHomesteadCostaRica Pacudamundo is a chain of stores. A cross between a dollar store and IKEA. They are fairly large warehouse style stores, slightly smaller than Wal-Mart. They have them in San Jose, Liberia and Puntarenas, that I know of.
@@calebmora4831 Yes, I was trying to spell the name from memory. We have shopped at the Liberia and Puntarenas before and stop everytime we fly into Liberia. Lots of household items and a smaller grocery area in them than Walmart.

I don't know if they will, I would think that they would...but CR is very different. I do know that when I take my Apple MacBook Pro in to get service, they do honor any warranty work.... So, they do for Apple. I would think they would for Toyota too, but I can't say for certain.
When we are able to move, if the tax-free importation went quicker/covid, we'd bring down a Fiat 500, but would want a new slightly bigger vehicle in Costa Rica. If I found a new $15,000 vehicle, what would the taxes be? Or total price? Thank you!

Alot of the side roads aren't paved.. but locals tell me they like it that way to keep people (hopefully) from driving too fast. The only problem this time of year with that is the dust. Still.. I'm from NJ. Prefer the dust to the sloppy snowstorm they just got. Hated driving in that

Some put up a fabric that looks like a shade cloth across the front of their property in order do hold the dust back from going into the house. Dirt roads are a THING most people learn to live with in Costa Rica.

Depends, but you would probably get a better maintained car in San Jose. Here...there are a LOT of bad roads and the car would probably be fairly beaten up a lot more than if you bought in San Jose.

We seriously want to retire there but I couldn't take the extreme heat by the beach, so we are looking extensively at Tinamastes and Plantillo so we could be somewhat close to the beach but still have cooler temps. Thank you for your videos!

Thanks... it depends on what you are looking for. There are places where it is not touristy and there are also places where most of the tourist comes in.
It is true that there are some drunks and beggars in San Isidro, however, I believe we have seen drunks and beggars in EVERY CITY we've been to in Costa Rica. It's just a part of Costa Rica...but in reality...you can find drunks and beggars all over the world. But in my opinion, you don't see that many in San Isidro. Thanks for your input.

San Isidro is a great town to shop....it's not a touristy town to go look at.
Thanks... it depends on what you are looking for. There are places where it is not touristy and there are also places where most of the tourist comes in.
Unfortunately,San Isidro, downtown has been taken for beggars and drunks asking money.
It is true that there are some drunks and beggars in San Isidro, however, I believe we have seen drunks and beggars in EVERY CITY we've been to in Costa Rica. It's just a part of Costa Rica...but in reality...you can find drunks and beggars all over the world. But in my opinion, you don't see that many in San Isidro. Thanks for your input.
@@OffTheGridHomesteadCostaRica thank for responding bro. I agree with about it I know that there many countries dealing with this, that's true, I was born in San Isidro and I remember when things were different. But you're right there are still many worthy things in our city.thanks
