Your control of the material is incredible, it’s like you have two dominant hands. Great looking fly.

Maestro, the simple looking flies are so deceiving. All I can say, it is ART.

    Davie ,
Another great fly ! I can't say thanks enough for the help and things I've learned from your videos over the years as I know thousands of others have as well. It's very much appreciated. Here in America, everyone's always trying to make money or sell you something on TH-cam or go to there website to buy this or that. Your videos truly help improve the sport of fly fishing and art of tying !! Thanks so very much Davie!!!

      Hi Sam,
I've only ever wanted to help anyone that wants to learn how to tye flies as when I was learning it was very hard to get any lesson as the only time you could was when a fair or a demo was organised and they were very rare at that time...I'm glad you still enjoy the videos and thank you again for the kind words as they do mean a lot to me....
      All the very best Davie

    Hi Davie,
Thank you so much for this! I enjoy watching a video when I go to bed. It inspires me to rush to my vice. My wife even asks me to put a video on, but she does it because apparently your voice has tremendous soothing soporific powers for her. She is usually asleep by the end of the clip! I have learned so much from your videos.

Nice tie Davie. I don't recall you coating the resin with varnish before. I've noticed that the resin on some of my buzzers tends to get cloudy and it's probably due to an incomplete cure with the torch. Perhaps the varnish would prevent that. Tight Lines!

      Hi Craig,
I've always found that resins left a tacky feeling after they set, even the old versions did this so I would finish them off with a coat of varnish to stop them going dull when touched or by even sitting in your box...doing this keeps the resin clear and looking good...I'm glad you liked the fly...

If I'm tying on a sunny day I'll open the window and set them on the sill which seems to do the trick. I'll try the varnish too.

Hi Davie, Thanks for another great video. These little flies are really eye catching, what time of year would the fish see something like them?

    • @DavieMcPhail
      @DavieMcPhail  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi David,
You can fish these flies right throughout the season as midge come off all year, this one is especially good at the beginning of the season...

really well tied davie. cause u use a silver tinsel for the body and some black wire for the rib or would that make the fly to bulky? thanks in advance.

      Hi Tom,
I use Bug Bond mostly as it works fine for me though there's many versions out there for tyers to pick from, they all do much the same job...Thank you very much for the kind words about the flies and the videos I make, it does mean a lot to me that you enjoy watching them...
      All the very best Davie
