I was a heroin addict for 2 decades...clean 11 years now...I wish she had received this gift that lives beyond addiction. This little lady was certainly more than she’ll ever know to so many people. Can’t tell you how sad her story makes me. Once in a lifetime kind of performer lost too soon. From her voice to her look she was so unique and sorely missed by so many of us. Makes you wish you could have just grabbed her up and shook her-you know-try to convince her how valuable and worthwhile she truly was, before it was too late. She is an example to be taught to our own daughters about their value as people. So many young women walking down that same road as we speak. Allowing men to dictate their value as people and losing sight of their self-worth and image. We must teach our children from birth their value as human beings. In my opinion, this fundamental idea should be imparted to them as soon as we possibly can-or risk losing more children in this way. I was on her last gig which was in my town 18th June 2011, most painful thing to watch. Stumbling, hardly standing on her feet and singing, crying, public booing cause heard nothing. They were pushing her back on a stage to continue singing to fill time signed in contract when she was running away,, band was laughing. I was mad as hell and sad cause I knew what meant not feeling well and people forcing you to look normal. It was 5 days after I`ve got out of neurology hospital still had some issues, plus I knew what losing close ones cause of booze meant, brought some memories. Moby who performed after her commented I hope someone will get help for her...35 days later she died. :( Such a waste of talent and life. :(
Its her label and management. They wanted money from her and they didn't really care about her wellbeing, if they did she would have been forced off of the stage until she got help. It's a sad situaution though because she would not accept help, you can't get fixed you have to be willing to help yourself first.

@S G Actually, the video was published 3 months before her death. However, the gig in Madrid was in summer 2008, so in fact 3 years before she passed away.

The onez with her cry'n, & fall'n, I can't bear 2 watch, I luv her earlier videos, when she was yung, fresh, & sober, she was so pretty then. She did'nt think she was pretty, poor thing.
+Kimberly Griffin I think you misread her. Every song is personal and none of them are very happy. She was a very aware person and that awareness gave her a lot of pain. She didn't know how to not see and understand the things she saw and understood. That was her pain. Her songs shared that pain. This moment of despair was just that. Previously she shared her pain with us and that helped.This is one of the moments in which she couldn't see a way out.
It's possible, but I'm a pretty good judge of ppl, but I can b wrong, she did keep sing'n those same sad songs, over & over, enough 2 depress any 1. I do know her songs were extremely personal, that's y we, (fanz), loved her so much, but those very songs probably kept her in a funk, I can't remember of all the songs I've heard of Amy's, not a 1 being a happy 1, that's sad. We didn't care, we just wanted her voice, & she didn't know how 2 say no. It took us havin this convo 4 me 2 realize what I'm now say'n 2u, weird.

But you're saying the same thing as Kimberly Griffin. Amy wrote all those sad songs - what kind of mental and emotional state do you think songs that despairing and sad come from? To imagine that Amy is just 'in the moment' on the stage above is to be in denial of her very clear and deeply upsetting state of mind. I agree with Kimberly and Bacon Tablets - the life is gone out of her eyes. It is very painful to see it. She is drugged of course, but it's the fact that she had ceased to get any joy out of performing that is so sad. She is just (about) going through the motions. She had stopped writing by then too - a sure sign that the fire had extinguished. She was brain-damaged by this stage, from drug-induced seizures. Her life was ebbing.
I agree 1000%, she just was show'n up, she had lost the will 2 live a long time ago, just goin thru the motions, sad, she had so much more 2 give, not just sing'n either. Amy's voice could've effected changes on many things.
It saddens me every time I see or hear such an amazing performance that I will never get to see my favorite artist live ever again :(. Love you Amy.
