Hi guys. Anyone had some problems with this router's speed?
On the 1st day, I was able to get around 600mbps which is my speed plan, but the following day, it suddenly dropped to 490-520. This is via LAN connection.
I did not change anything with the configuration. When I try to connect directly to my modem, I'm getting 600Mbps.
hi, i have not encountered any drop speed... have you tried to use the built-in speed test?

Hi. Maby a stupid Q. But is it just 1 of those thats need to be conected to the internet whit a to cabel en the rest is conected wires and can give ethernet out of ther ports?
This wifi router is can be connected to the internet by the main modem router, then the lan ports can be used to conect devices to this router, and devices can also connect to its wireless network.

Between asus tuf ax5400 vs ax 6000 wich one more powerfull & best build qualiy ?? I need gaming port for ps5
both are actually good. In terms of power, the ax6000 have better hardware, especially helpful if you have a ton of devices connected to your wifi network.
In terms of wireless performance, both almost perform the same for range and stability. (maybe a little better on the ax6000)
If you have money to spare get the ax6000 for its hardware and can handle more devices compared to ax5400, but if you just have less than 15 devices connecting, the ax5400 will still be a good option and might save you a lot of money. :)

sir bakit kaya nde mabigay nung asus router ung max speed ko, pero kapag naka direct ako sa mismong converge router nabibigay naman. may kailangan ba na settings para kasing nafifilter nung router ung mismong internet speed. Kapag ginamit ko ung built in na speed test ng asus router, nakukuha nia ung max speed, pero kapag sa browser na internet speed parang halos kalahati lang. Thanks sa pagsagot.
Hi, usually dapat makuha mo din same speed sa browser, pwede mo po i check kung mag lan cable ka connected sa laptop or desktop kung anung speed nakukuha mo po (on asus router)

Huawei Optixstar po ung modem na provided nila. ang speed ko po kapag gamit ko ung modem nila is more or less 600 mbps tama po sa internet plan ko, pero kapag gamit ko ung asus router is mga 280 to 310 mga ganun lang nakukuha ko wifi and lan halos same lang po.@@JKChavez

Hi Arvin, unfortunately hindi po, Wifi router lang po ito, wala po syang modem capability, which is ung modem part na bigay ng PLDT is needed para magka internet, kaya additional lang po ito..

I've just tried to tether my android phone via USB to this router, gone through the settings on the router but it never fails over.
I unplug the ethernet to the WAN but I just get no failover, any ideas?
Hi Joe, I'm not sure if the one you got is defective, but for my test, it works when i tried to remove the lan cable on the wan port. but it was not that smooth transition, it took around 30 sec to 1 minute to kick in. then the issue im only getting is when i connected the cable to wan again, it wont failover back.. :( im currently testing a 4g router and checking if the dual wan of the asus router will work smoothly..

hi sir, for the wifi6 functionality you should see it during the installation, while for the 5g i believe you are trying to say 5ghz frequency, by default configuration there will be only 1 ssid for 2.4ghz and 5ghz wifi frequency, but you can separate amd create 2 separate ssid / wifi name for 2.4 and 5ghz Wi-Fi frequency..

wifi 6 operates in both 2.4 and 5ghz, for better connectivity choose 5ghz if possible

pwede po ibat ibang password kung configuration mo is another router sya not AP\mesh.. then sa app naman po, once configured na sila, madali mo na din ma manage..
Why speed test for this router is giving me 6-8ms PING??? How can i get lower ping latency?
aside from the wifi router, a good internet service provider is also needed. Have you tried to adjust qos to gaming?
Does it work on a 5G modem ?
it should work, as long as there is a lan port available from that 5g modem..
Sir, I got the ax5400 noticeably shorter pala talaga yung mga antenna nya kesa ax53u. then yung range ng 2.4ghz band nya mas short pa sa 5ghz nya. diko alam kung defective tong nakuha ko.
Yes sir, a little bit shorter antenna sya, pero based on my experience in home wifi router, larger antennas doesn't always perform well i have tested ung 1 tplink before, pero nakala disappoint ung performance nya.
For the 2.4ghz, usually nagiging shorter sya if crowded ung area ng 2.4ghz frequency from other wifi network and some appliances, pero by default if walang competition sa 2.4ghz network mas malayo sya..

Share ko lang din na experience ko sa tuf ax5400 akala ko defective sya kasi sobrang hina ng 2.4ghz. ngayon pa la nag i interfere yung hard drive ko na naka connect sa kanya, may interference pala ang usb 3.0 at 2.4ghz band.

Sir Could you please perform iperf3 test to check the data transfer speed over wifi ? You can set your pc as iperf3 server and do the test on ipad or Mobile or other device which has WiFi 6 capability

Asus en realidad tiene un montón de enrutadores wifi, desde ax53u en adelante, son geniales, especialmente las series ROG y TUF, la única diferencia de obtener el más caro es que tienen un montón de características, como tribanda, ¿Qué procesador más rápido, etc.? ..
pero si solo tiene menos de 20 unidades conectadas, esta ya está bien.

Hi unfortunately I cant say anything about the tplink ax5400, since i have not tested that unit, but i believe they are good units, since their ax23 performed great, only try to consider when it comes to tplink there are subscription plan for their homeshield security.. but if you choose the tuf ax5400, they are actually good unit, and problem lang siguro is mas mahal sya ng kunti compare kay tplink.. :)
I buy this Router and put it as replacement to be my main router and i take out the Modem / Router of my ISP, now my question is why you said not to put it as my main modem? maybe i did some mistake that i make it my main one?
Hi, this is a third party wifi router, it doesn't have modem capability. Modem is actually the one responsible for giving you internet access. While the wifi router is the one responsible for your multiple devices connected to the network. You still need the modem, you will connect the tuf router to the modem providwd to you by your internet service provider.
@@JKChavez i take off the modem of my internet provider and put the TUF as the main one alone, as moden and router and ita work great, why i need to put the bad router of my ISP also?
You still need the modem-router provided to you by your internet service provider since you need the modem part of that one, then you connect the ASUS TUF connected to the modem router to make it work..

@@krteezy5070 Hi, it depend on the structure of the house po, like in my situation, positioned sya sa second floor for testing, i can still access it on our roofdeck and ground floor.. for the motherboard, no issue po..

Hi you are using a modem/router combo right? Is there a WAN port on your modem/router combo or are you just using a standard LAN port?
Hi, yes im using a modem-router combo from my Internet service provider, no wan port for that one, and im using the standard lanport to connect to the wan port of this router. :)

Who is better asus ASUS RT-AX86S or ASUS TUF AX5400 specifically about coverage ?
Hi, unfortunately, i can't comment on the AX86s since i have not tested it. Because higher-priced router does not equate to better coverage. like the ASUS AX53u, for coverage, it can compete with the TUF AX5400 even though it is half the price of the ax5400.. :)

Can you tell me if the wireless mac filter can work in whitelist mode? As in, only allow whitelisted devices to connect to the network?
I used the mac filter to only allow addresses in the list to connect and it worked very well for approximately 3 weeks until a firmware update and without warning it disabled my mac filter for 5ghz. Coming from a Synology RT2600 that is a deal breaker for me. I noticed it because there was one more device listed in my network. I packed this router up and am returning it.

Yes, modem is actually the hardware that connects you to the internet, while routers/wifi routers is responsible for your multiple devices to talk to the modem then access internet.. I have a video of "can i replace my modem" it will be the same concept
my router now ax3000 and when i activate wifi6 i got internet disconnect when only wifi 5 no problem and thats why i use only wifi 5 in this router. what is your wifi settings in ax5400, is the wifi6 160mz activated. do you experience disconnected?

I can't decide between ASUS TUF-AX5400 vs Tp-Link Archer AX73. The specification is very similar, but I'm interested in stability and WIFI coverage. Maybe someone can share the experience.
i wont be able to suggest for i have not tried the tplink ax73.. for my honest opinion the asus ax53u have slightly better coverage over the ax5400, even though the ax5400 is more expensive, but the ax5400 have a lot of features compared to the ax53u.. for stability both ax5400 and ax53u are stable..
@@JKChavez I purchased the AX5400 and it turned out to be a disappointment. The possibilities of the software are enormous, but unfortunately it fails in the most important. The range of the 5G network is worse than that of the cheap Archer C80. Both routers were in the same place, Asus -77dBm and 165Mbps, Archer -73dBm and 238 Mps. At the measurement point, the signal from the Archer was stable, Asus disconnected the connection.
Look at AX82U cheap and stable Wi-Fi.

I have not tried the ax82u yet, so i cant really commend on that one, but for specs both are similar.. You cant go wrong with the tuf ax5400..

Hi, if you have 200+ simultaneous connection maging congested po network nyo, which is you should have non-commercial grade wifi network, better get an enterprise network, or get a more powerful router and setup multiple access points, rule of thumb ko kasi 20 to 25 users per access points..

Hi Sherwin, Makaka connect pa din po old wifi adapter sa ax routers.. Backward compatible po sila.. For the link sir per checking out if stock sa asus official store sa lazada.. Not sure for other seller sa lazada or shopee po..
This has received HIGH ratings everywhere (that I've seen).. so I was extremely bummed out when I set my first two up. Granted, I have a concrete house, but the path between 1 and 2 is mostly open staircase. Yet, the primary seem to have poorer signal range than my previous ac66w! I'll give it a go and set up the third node, but my first impression is sadly poor.. hence the need to rant. Sorry.

Sorry, not really. I put 2nd node where it just catches the signal og the 1st and have left it there. It connects OK with my 3rd node down the all and into a room. Neither 1->2 og 2->3 have great signal, but for my low end use, it works.

Hi Vien, can you try using lan cable to laptop or desktop directly connected to your Huawei modem-router, and see if okay ung upload and download speed ay okay, if okay po sya, there might be an issue with the linksys din.. :)

Balak kong gawing access point yung router sa 1st floor (currently kasi naka mi repeater ako tapos 10-20 mbps lang nasasagap niya sa fibr which is 200-300mbps dapat). So kung netflix, tvbox, youtube tapos konting mobile games, pwede na po yung ac5?

Hi Jay, it depends on your need po, if you just want a powerful router to handle all your devices, get an ASUS router, if on a tight budget get the Tenda Routers. The Asus AC59u V2 is good, but if may budget pa, go with the ax86u or ax88u and up..

Will this work on BT FTTP? Thinking of 900 speed package. Will it replace the BT smart hub or do i plug the AX5400 into hub? Although that means having 3 boxes plugged in for FTTP!
Can i just enter my VPN unlimited username/password to activate VPN?
I use BT900 FTTP Business and it works. you need to enter your username and password which is the same.

@@talkandplay correct. I have a fixed IP BT Business 900mb HomeHub. The TUF AX5400 has a WAN port and you plug your ethernet cable from the wall into the WAN port (exactly the same as your BT Homehub) The Asus asks for a connection type and you select for PPPOE. It asks for username and password - you can get this from your bthomehub, under advance settings and that's it.

What's the range of 5GHz frequency?
Just to share, I bought an ASUS TUF-AX3000 which has similar chipset as the ASUS TUF-AX5400. Range of 5GHz frequency and 2.4GHz frequency is similar or a bit better than Tenda AC23 if you enable the ASSASIN mode. Good thing with the ASUS router is the stability and way better latency (ping) compared to the Tenda AC23.
@bjay dy It seems my reply got deleted. I am using the TUF Gaming AX3000 as an Access Point connected to the main router via a wired backhaul. It acts as a node based on my setup. The WiFi coverage is similar to the one it replaced, Tenda AC23. It can deliver stable internet connection within its coverage area with my current fiber plan.
I replaced a Netgear RAX40 with this one because it didn't have the range I wanted. This one does do better than that one, not by a miracle amount. But it covers my house and yard enough so that I don't feel it was a waste of money.
Hi sir, thanks for the feedback, this works great, but for range honestly im surprised with the AX53u, that one is cheaper and better than this ax5400 in terms of range, just that the ax5400 has so many features compared to the ax53u, I even made a range test video of that ax53u. :) but still, this ax5400 manages traffic smoothly

1 : If you turn it on , it is open for everyone to login into your open network , someone faster could easily beat you to it ,with setting up your wireless network f😹
2 . : my old router even beats the speed and the stability of this piece of 💩 the only stable band was the 2.4GHz ,it just cant handle dual band that well like the routers from before ,
It constantly just die on you , even when doing a simple speed test . With 2/1 clients connected ,
I tested both routermode and ap mode , tested multiple band settings/other settings too on and off. Qos onn and off , .
3 . : other router brands are way more stable and safer , out of the box with preconfigured closed networks that you can change ,
