I appreciate your feedback! I want to clarify that I said it’s “like a ternary form” and only used the term as a comparison because sonata form typically has three main sections. I didn’t say that is IS a ternary form. Thanks for watching 😊
@@mathewarrellinBut let's call rounded binary, "rounded binary." There are at least three formal functions in sonata form (more if we count the not infrequent intros and codas), but from a structural perspective, it's binary. The recap doesn't do what the 2nd A section in a ternary form does: it's not a literal repeat or usually even very close. I'll shut up now, since no minds are ever changed in the comment section, lol.
