    Thank you for this video! I think I fully cover my vines and then when I water a lot washes away and off the vines.

    • @Worldwidegiantgrowers
      @Worldwidegiantgrowers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, just make sure it washes off. You don’t want them to be buried more than a few weeks.

    Hey Mark Glenn in Brockport New York I've been completely burying my Vine but I do have really good drainage here, no problems with the vines rotting. By the way the second set of seeds I got from you are doing just fine

    If I half bury, and use insecticide that’s made for vine borers. Do you have any advice on how often I should apply the insecticide and how do I make sure no vine borers get on the vine? Thank you for your help

    Hey Mark, when do you start covering your stump?

    • @Worldwidegiantgrowers
      @Worldwidegiantgrowers  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Usually the end of June really it’s more about plant size once the plant hits about 500 ft.² probably time to get a stump cover or July 1, which ever comes first

      @@TheHattonHomestead don’t keep it wet after 15 feet 🦶 in length with 6 foot secondarys at that point the roots should be farther out. You should not need to keep the crown wet any longer. Keep 12 inches out with your waterings if possible.

    I'm curious, once that leaf scorch is noticed will it continue to spread around the edge of the leaves, even if the temps cool off? I have something going on with my plants this year that I haven't noticed before. Both my 1802 Werners have what looks like the leaf scorch you pointed out, but they are much bigger spots. They turn a dark gray, and eventually spread along the edge of the leaf and then it becomes brittle. I'm not sure if its from the high temps we had a couple weeks ago or if its something totally different. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @Worldwidegiantgrowers
      @Worldwidegiantgrowers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The leaf scorch usually does not spread once. The damage is done that’s as far as it goes, you could have some mechanical burn. I have some mechanical burn on mine from fertilizers you have to make sure you rinse off your leafs after fertilizing.

      @andylenart7154 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Keep it a Secret Home & Garden Tips thank you for the info. I feel like I run the water long enough after the fertilizers have gone through the injectors. I did the similar watering method last year too. I know different plants act differently though. Only major difference from last year was I added a lot of manure & organic compost this spring. Maybe that can cause my issues.

    • @Worldwidegiantgrowers
      @Worldwidegiantgrowers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@andylenart7154 hopefully the manure was composted completely if not, that will cause issues

    • @andylenart7154
      @andylenart7154 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Keep it a Secret Home & Garden Tips thanks for the info. The manure on one of the plants was totally composted (7 years) the other plant had different manure (probably only 2 years)

    • @Worldwidegiantgrowers
      @Worldwidegiantgrowers  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s good when hear people say manure I always get nervous lol I know some people put raw manure in their gardens, not composted I think that’s a huge mistake
