I like watching movies. I thought it would be a great idea to understand how critics analyse movies. After watching this I get a new perspective. Thank you.

I like movies too, I actually love them and I feel like it’s a hobby of mine. But I felt guilty about just watching them as a hobby. Of course I appreciate them but I feel like I should be able to write about them or something like that to truly appreciate them. Is that true?

I believe the first element of film study should be writing, as it is the core element of a film.

Thank you for this insightful and informative video. However, I agree with some of the other comments about a crucial aspect of film analysis you missed: the writing. One of the most underappreciated and yet most important parts of a film. The invisible foundation on which everything else is built.

I suggest watching Abbie Emmons video "the one writing trick that will instantly make your story more emotional." It's a writing video, but she compares the same scene of two different Little Women movies. I felt it really helped my understanding of analyzing movies while trying to learn how to write better scenes.

In my TH-cam search bar, I entered "how to appreciate movies" 3 rd video from the top with the least views among them was This. I had no reason to watch this particular video. I clicked this unporpusefully to randomly provide a chance to intrigue me, and I can confidently say I dont regret spending 15 mins of my life watching this and will remember this video here after

The movie Belfast ends up coming off stylized to me in a way by exactly trying so hard to be natural. It just feels a little contrived, like a dollhouse. I would say it's overly choreographed, I way prefer Greengrass's approach.

EMPTY TALK. WHY THE AMERICAN MOVIES GET FROM BAD TO WORSE ? THIS IS THE REAL QUESTION. THE OLD HOLYWOOD SCHOOL WAS BETTER BUT TIMES HAVE CHANGED. TODAY , THE VERY SPIRIT WHO CREATED THIS FORM OF ART IS DEAD TODAY. AS THE AMERICAN CULTURE HAVE TAKEN THE WORLD BY SUPPRESSION, HEAVY DECLINE OF MORAL VALUES IS IN PLACE WHERE THE MOST FEROCIOUS HUNGER FOR MONEY IS IN REIGN. I AM SURE WILL COME IN DAY WHEN AMERICAN SUPREMACY WILL BE LONG GONE AND BETTER TIMES WILL GIVE BETTER VALUES TO OUR SPIRITUAL NEEDS. UNFORTUNATELY AT THAT TIME MOST OF US WILL BE GONE…….
