Love your stuff brother! Hey, I wanted to tell you about an experiment I ran the other day. I am making an Vivarium Rock Background and was experimenting with pre-coating the blue styrofoam from home depot. I dipped a piece in Kiltz 2 and another in Mineax Fast Dry Gloss Urethane and let them dry overnight . After that I tested applications of acrylic paint and an ink wash. I used army painter paints and washes. I let those dry over night too. I then ran the pieces under my sink faucet to try and rub off the paint and ink wash. The paint adhered a lot better than the ink wash to the Kilz 2, but with some effort could wipe both off under running water. When I did the same to the pre-dipped minwaxed foam, the paint and the ink wash would not rub/wash off! And I rubbed and rubbed with my thumb to try and get them off. Dipping foam in Minwax before painting seems the make an amazingly durable bottom coat and adds strength to the finished paint without even sealing it afterwards!
Note: I know minwax can take many days to fully cure, so by painting only after 12 or so hours, I may have exploited a way to bind the paint with the minwax.

I was just about to comment the same thing. I actually like the look of Dreadnoughts and all the related models but I find many others incredibly derpy when others say they look amazing. Chief example was the hype around new SoBs, everyone would say they look amazing now but all I see is a slightly more detailed version of those old angry dudes in boob armor and the vehicles are even worse. I'm currently working on a convo that I hope would satisfy my need to see the vision of sororitas I have when I read the lore. On the other hand I would never have thought to mod a Hellbrute and could not visualize something as amazing as what Jeremy created.

I started painting minis in the early 80's then motorcycles came into my life in the late 80's and the hobby was forgotten, speed was way much more fun, over the last few years I have got back into painting and just recently trying to make terrain pieces out of xps foam and yours and many other youtubers in the hobby have taught me loads. I am making a stubby fantasy tower with lights in at the moment and am going to move onto a Ork 40k defensive line / garage in a bit to go with my war bikers and trike. Cutting resin, especially big lumps like that id do using a jewelers saw, since its on a bow you arent limited to a cutting depth equal to the radius of whatever cutting disc you are using.
The side of the cutting disc also wont be grinding the whole depth of the cut all time so a lot less dust will be created, taking care still recommended tho.

Great vid! The army is looking great/ I totally respect your view of lists. I too think lists often get in the way of building the army I wanted in the first place - sometimes robbing you of the enthusiasm you had going into the project. I have have even had projjects that I was really excited to build and then having played a game with them, suddenly found myself wanting to build something else. SO my rule is build what you want, and then if you still want to play, build and army out of what you have. Cant wait to saee more!

Really nice result. Whenever I was building a model with a lot of "empty space" inside, I would build it around a core of modeling clay. I gives you something to glue the pieces onto as well as adding some weight to the final piece. Also made the milliput != glue mistake once.
The other mistake was trying to glue the plastic part to the resin part, while there was still not fully cured milliput on there, which led to everything coming off again, which is funny, since it worked for you there.

I'm feeling some real empathic phantom limb pains looking at this dude. It's yuck and I love it.
I also feel taken back to a simple age with that 'all your base' reference. Somebody set up us the bomb.

Love the conversion. However... you take back what you said about stumpy robot legs!
Dreads are my favorite models to build and paint. I imagine them as human-scale, about chest high, stomping around on legs like a corgi. That would be a conversion I would do if I was a better modeler, corgi dreads!

I have a Skaven Warlord on Brood Horror I converted from an Lord Discordant and a Doomwheel. I spent HOURS pouring over the plans then testing and refitting before cutting. welcome to the kitbash community.

Excellent work, you took a fairly goofy looking model and made it fit perfect within your gross Nurgle gang! It's a massive improvement over something that looked like a cast-off from Doom.
