Next time when you come over to Europe. Take a deep look at our trailers and do a comparison video. Not just the normal semi trailers but also the HTC trailers and trailers behind lorries or trucks what ever you call them and do a proper view on hooking them up to our hitches. Maybe you could start to import TAV or VBG hitch systems into the US and make a ton of money on it. Very surprised how light weight your trailers are, also only 2 axles with double wheels. Looks like your trailers are still stuck in the 70s. Our trailers are full of lights on the sides and at the back and in each corners etc and powerful work lights on the sides and at the back so you can actually see where you are reversing in the dark. Our trailers are heavy built, not lightweight like yours. Really has to be to haul the loads we are carrying in Finland.
@@jone8626 trailers have to be built light weight due to weight restrictions 40 US Ton weight limit (without permits, which are expensive) and the less lights you have the cheaper the maintenance. That’s why you see so many basic trailers, large companies won’t buy 10,000 heavy expensive trailers but will buy 20,000 light cheap trailers. Importing anything from the EU trucking industry won’t make much profit in the U.S. The trucks might for local only companies but most U.S. drivers have no interest in operating an EU truck OTR/long haul.
@@TunneIVision so basicly you are saying rules and regulation make this a thing. However, how long have these been in place? Roads have been changed load capacity has changed. just not the rules. And the EU also has tight regulations for weight and lenght. Most trailers are build from alluminium. They are light for maximum load capacity. It would be good for the US to look at how other deal with their problems and take the best out of it. It will benefit the US. We have finally gotten the LZV combo's on the road. Those are the 2 or 3 trailer combo's. 2 trailer for medium wieght and 3 trailers for volume loads. (flowers) So they are not heavy but take up volume.

Unlike the other dude, the real answer is ground clearance. The U.S. has more level crossings than any other nation in the world and ontop of that our trailers are longer than the UK/EU standard trailer meaning they’re already at a ground clearance disadvantage when going over something like a rail crossing

us trailers are just cheap built, stuck in the 70 s like one comment said. It all comes down to cheap bad bridges for light loads and light trailers. 80 000 pound limits are the limits so lighter trailers mean more payloads to haul.
Nice truck and the new trailers look amazing now on the other side of trailers when they get flipped over and it does happen to bad there was a way the could built in supports to hook on to make it easier to flip back on its tires just a thought
The only international truck I would ever own is a 1998 - 2005 Eagle 9900i 70" mid-roof sleeper single bunk with a N14 or 60 series engine and a 13 speed or super 10 manual transmission. The only true Cadillac of big trucks in my opinion.
