6:52 "Alright so... We reassembled the motherboard, and we kept the tablet charging for about 20 minutes..." *SHAKES HIS HEAD* "... and the tablet is working"
Now THAT was unexpected 😆 From the shaking I thought he was going to say "We have no display". 😂

Im mostly a silent viewer but it might help: I just watched the RTX 3090 Liquid metal desaster and you asked if anyone knows a good way to remove LM -> Everytime i want to remove Liquid metal i use a Syringe to suck most of it up, works wonders!

I wish you were in the UK, I have a motherboard with a component that is half connected to the board, it would be too expensive to send to you. Luckily I managed to find a motherboard on Ebay, so should be back up and running Monday.

Why not try fixing it yourself? :) If you are going to throw away the board anyway, investing in a cheap sholdering iron and some flux might save your board :D. The best case is that you learn more and save some money, the worst is that you mess it up and have to throw it away

Great repair and finding, my only concern is that shield. Not sure what you did afterwards but leaving it without a shield could impact the WiFi performance, desensitize the antenna or noise issues in general.

PS. did you notice the big chunk missing (chipped) off the corner of what looks like an inductor/choke at 2:44 ? I wonder if that had something to do with causing this issue initially...
