    It's pretty impressive that a tracker device can even survive inside this breaker, or jackhammer like we say in America. After all, the tool is used to violently break up concrete.

    • @zoki.to974
      @zoki.to974 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      when hammer hits the concrete, everything get good shake, even ground around not only hammer... action-reaction my friend...

    • @gatorhunter1
      @gatorhunter1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I watched video of both recoveries of this tool and I didn't see a compressor with it the first time.

    • @zoki.to974
      @zoki.to974 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      this particular hammer is attachment for excavator or bobcat, not hand operated...

    • @gatorhunter1
      @gatorhunter1 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know that, but everybody else commenting doesn't.

    • @djamesthree
      @djamesthree 6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      That “breaker” is a hydraulic attachment for an excavator, there is no compressor in this video. I wouldn’t have thought any electronic device could survive long on a jack hammer, given its violent shaking, their tracking device must be very robust.

    If you want to be "hidden in plain sight" before the police arrive, get a dog leash and carry it in your hand along with the DF receiver. If anyone asks, you can tell them that you are looking for a lost dog. The dog is an expensive pure breed and has a locator beacon in the collar.

    Perhaps the oddest (funny) report i read of a "tracked" recovery was a chap out flying his powered hang glider when he spotted his mates expensive caravan going down the road, so he phoned his mate and asked him where he was heading for. His mate replied, "nowhere, i'm at home.....why?" So hang glider guy asked him if his caravan was still in the drive. It wasn't! "No problem" said hang glider guy...."i'm above it right now in my hang glider" and continued following it while his friend called the police who liaised with hang glider guy and arrest was made pretty swiftly!

    Brilliant, I have a question, Why do people have them put in Breakers but not in there even more expensive equipment?

    • @AutomatricsMtrack
      @AutomatricsMtrack  8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Good question , attachments are much more frequently stolen as they are very easy to sell on, machines however have traceable VIN numbers or RFID tags. Also Plant hire company's don't really care that much if a machine is stolen as they get the hire company to pay for a replacement and all the rental time (which can sometimes be a new machine for old ). However the end users are starting to cotton-on and mandate to the hire company's that they only want machines with professionally monitored theft recovery tracking systems fitted before they hire. This is all Part of CPA hire rules and European Rental Association (ERA). Automatrics have created a new ERA theft security risk assessment standard for end uses which will also help them select appropriate preventative or recovery needs in the event of theft. In this case the hire company (our customer) who have our security trackers in their attachments were pioneering a new industry USP to gain more business. As it reduces theft replacement costs of their customers. Something we would love them to roll out across their fleet

    Why do they not use tracking drones to access areas that are hard to survey?

      That has been added to the tool kit since this recovery 👍

    I work at JCB and there is a Livelink option, as in the Automatrics system, but not many opt to fit, which is daft, save bit of money, then gets nicked and only luck in this case, the other 4 which weren't tracked were recovered...

    You should use a drone. It'll allow you to check places you can't go without having to rely on plod.

    Does anyone ever get arrested for these thefts ?

    • @Wally-H
      @Wally-H ปีที่แล้ว

      Rarely I should think. No doubt the travellers living on that site had absolutely no idea how the plant got into their yard, or someone asked them to store it for a while etc. Always a tall story but not enough evidence to charge them.

    What's a breaker? because that's what you seem to be tracking most of the time. what's it used for ?

    • @AutomatricsMtrack
      @AutomatricsMtrack  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Its like a pneumatic or hydraulic hammer used to wack the concrete to break it up during construction works. The bandits can sell them on easily and they can be worth £30K or more for the larger ones, easy to take from construction sites but they don't expect them to be tracked which is why we have good success

    • @AutomatricsMtrack
      @AutomatricsMtrack  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not Trackers Better to say fit "independently certified and Insurance approved (or better still Police approved) plant equipment theft recovery systems" on all vulnerable plant equipment.
      That would help narrow down some 200,000 odd "GPS tracker" Google search results
      Quite a big difference in system recovery performance people should do their homwork. We have a CITS Combined Industry Theft Solutions Recovery Tracking Systems best practice independant non for profit guide that's also supported by the CPA . If you need a copy send us an email to info@automatics.co.uk :)
