Thanks for the great video! I'm always satisfied using your videos rather than watching like 10 different ones on TH-cam and still not getting what I want!
Hi Justin thank you. I must say your vid contents are not only brilliant but they are unique ie vids are always so knowledgeable and thank you for sharing too
I have to admit the "nose inspection" portion had me do a double-take, and it took me a moment to figure out what you were doing. Great strategy! Keep 'em coming! :)
Hahaha!!!! I'm only at the 45 second mark and I literally laughed out loud!!! Awesome clip of an example that 'may need' to be cut out, Justin. Thanks inserting some humor to yet another one of your awesome video tutorials
Thank you so much for this informative video! I do have 1 question if I use clips from any of these sites and I end up cancelling my subscription later will the videos that I upload on you tube be copyright and will I have to take them down ?
Hi Justin Just stumbled across your video... Would you say Storyblocks is still the better option and with a yearly subscription there would never be Copyright issues? I’ve until now only add my own B rolls but they’re not time effective... Glad I found your channel Thank you ✨
Due to the specs on my laptop I'm probably about to get Filmora 9 as an editor, i see they have a option to add a package for stock video and music and I thought it might be useful as a complete beginner to go down this path as this way I would have everything under one roof from an editing point of view , what do you think of their option ?
I have a Quick question. I See so many channels that have specified footage and some i think have copyright because they are pictures of people or really specified footage. How does this work? On sites like pixabay or even shutterstock or istock i cant find the perfect footage...it seems like big channels do use copyright footage and get away with it even movie scenes
Thank you so much for this video, it helped me out a lot. In my research I think story blocks is the best bang for bucks in getting space exploration related footage, for my space related web series. If anyone finds a better website please let me know. It's nearly 2022, do you have an update version of this video by any chance?
Hi Justin, I really like your video it's very helpful and easy to understand... just like to ask, have you experience getting a stock footage from Pexel or Pixabay and after uploading it to youtube it has a copyright claim? what happened to me was, I downloaded a footage from pexel and uploaded it to youtube just to check if that footage does not have any claim issues.... After that I included that footage to my video, so now I uploaded my video to youtube after uploading it says the footage from pexel has claim issue from Netflix.... So I have to process and re-edit again my video... :-(
They really should make it so you can get a receipt from the stock footage company when you use it and then it should be the stock footage companies problem from there and have to pay for it. Not use the users. I bet if it costed a video producer enough money in damages having to re edit a whole video they could have legal action against the stock footage company. At least they should.
Thanks for the video! How does it work it terms of price and licensing questions when looking for footage / images for a vlog or a documentary or creative project if I hire an assistant for finding videos or images and they have a subscription? It is a common thing to do or best is to have your own subscription? (I am on a budget at the moment)
I assume you did not mention Pond5 & Adobe because of price? (I am considering video stock agencies for contributing as well, researching on the difference and reviews)
If you use one account subscription, you can share your login with your assistant via a password management system like Lastpass so they won't know the password but can still login as long as you have it shared with them via Lastpass - hope that helps!
Definitely love your video tips, because it allows me as a paranormal TH-camr to have a better range and see what all types of suspenseful B-Rolls I might be able to find, I am still looking, and I'm also going to try to contact those people to see where they got their footage like you suggested.
Hi Justin! Great informative video! I have a question about Shutterstock Footage License: when you say it covers client projects, would you say it covers also music videos? From what I understand you can't use their footage in Commercials or project that will appear on TV...
Thank you a lot! Has been waiting for that. Still can use only free versions but it's good to know about paid ones as well. Thank you a lot for this review!!!
Storyblocks very misleading. They hit you with 'unlimited' downloads, then when you find a plan that fits your budget, all of a sudden you're authorized only 3 downloads a month, unless you wanna fork over $300 up front.
Great video. When you have a chance can you explain more about license use? If I pay a subscription can I download 1000 and use whenever I need on a later date? If a marketing company have the subscription can they use the videos to create content for clients or they need a subscription under the clients name? After you stop the subscription can you still using the videos already published and about using the clips in new videos? Also, when can I use videos of TV show in my videos, when is far use and when I need to ask permission? Let say I want to insert a clip of “SHARK TANK”, firSt case Iam creating a video about how popular the show is in the USA and talk about the hosts. The second I am promoting a myself and want to compare toa “shark” without claiming an endorsement. Copyrights are soooooo complicate. Make a 7 parts series. 😂
Wow, lots of questions in there Marcelo! Best bet is to check out the help / faq sections on the websites or even send them through an email to make sure you're getting the right advise for your use case scenario. RE: using other people's footage (shark tank) I'd personally try to avoid using anything where you don't own the rights to use it, or haven't explicitly gained permission to use it to save any issues down the track.
Well, I actually find it quite sad that you don't need to give credits to the artist on a few websites. I personally give credit no matter what. It isn't fair for the artist, since their work will be used without people even knowing who made the photos/videos. Lesser people will hire, know about, talk about and donate to the artist.
Another great video, Justin! - thank you so much. 👍 I have read through the licensing agreements pertaining to the stock video sites, and Envato seems to use a "project licence model", meaning that you have to register the download to a single project (video?) and that you have to re-register the download for additional use. Can you confirm that? 🤔 Also - at least as I understand it -, you retain the right to use the clips, even if one should decide to cancel the suscription and use the previously downloaded material in other projects thereafter (with the exception of Envato)... Thanks again and best regards from Germany, 🙂 Volker
Envato's FAQ section is the best place to go for clarification on this for your specific use case, or send them an email and i'm sure they'll help you out pretty quickly.
OMG!!?? 😂😂😂 That was priceless, Justin!! “Who me? I never rub my nose!?”😏 Of course, you know I totally lost all focus for a minute after that!? (Doesn’t take much😝) Artgrid makes me think of stuff Jeven Dovey would do!! Envato sounds outstanding! TFS!!😊👍🏻

Hey Maritza, if you uploaded them during your subscription they will be fine 👍 Just don't use those clips after the subscription has ended 😃
@@PrimalVideo perfect! That works for me, Thanks for the reply 🙏🏻
But where do you put the video footage, piece it together, and make it a whole video?
Wondering which is better for video only, Dec. 2020. Envato Elements vs. Storyblocks? Been doing some searching but no definitive answer yet.
Hey! We've been using Storyblocks a lot lately for our videos but either will work well!

While I like Filmora, i prefer to purchase licenses for stock footage and music separately
Very useful, as usual. Thanks!
