Great video and a great 240 saved. I had a GLT estate from 2004-2006 when volvo still did all the spares for them. I bought all the 52mm gauges for the dash when I should have been saving for a gearbox rebuild! I would love another one in mint cond if I ever come into some money!😄
Another class video fellas, as a Volvo and Land Rover owner I really enjoyed this as a follow up to the Disco. Is there a series Landy one coming soon? Cheers!
@@CannibalCars thanks for gettin back. keep up the great work of your vids. first one ive found in ireland. look forward to the next one. Id really like to get involvedin barn finds myself. looks a lot of fun.
If you want to know the art of the 240 just give me a ping and I would hopefully give you a tip .Grew up with them driven them. Scrapped about 15 of them. they were rusty beyond help.. Drive one even to day.. The 240 the legendary flying brick.. Trustworthy like a Grandma tough like a tank... From northen Sweden.
This was the car that nearly bankrupted Volvo - they didn't realise that if you make cars that don't wear out and don't market to the fast fashion brigade, everyone who wants a Volvo eventually has one and you don't get any more sales. This is what actual sustainable motoring looks like.
@CannibalCars a friend of mine brought one that was hanging for a grand just for the wheels and the interior think for the black trim to as glt is black trip on the outside if I remember rite then cl was like a silver chrome didn't get much from it but still pays strong on them I miss th days you would get a runner for 300 to 500 I would have had to se it in better detail but I think with my PDR equipment I could have gotten them out
@CannibalCars old Volvos are almost bulletproof. Its when all electronics starts to take over a car the problem begins. When they hade been abandoned outside for a while all cars have som issues. Not all cars. Bur sooo many.
