Huh, I thought this one was Japan-only and in black and white. Is this a mod?
I found this version on an independent gaming site, obviously being a fervent admirer of Arthur's games license I had to do it, and it is excellent

I'd like to add that this is not a true fan-made game created from scratch, but rather an adaptation with colorization and some additions of Makaimura for Wonderswan from 1999, a game from the series unknown in the West released only for the Wonderswan handheld console in Japan, in black and white. They made some changes, of course, added some features, put the Arthur sprite from the first Ghosts'n Goblins coin-op; and even replaced one of the bosses with... a boss from Magic Sword, another Capcom game, but otherwise this Ghosts'n Demons is not an original game at all. Its quality and stylistic uniformity in pixel art are all the work of the Japanese company that produced it.
It's unfortunate that on the official website of this product they brush aside this story, cunningly passing it off as their own creation and effectively charging (even more cunningly) for a Capcom game as their own.
