I have a similar trip in the planning stage for 2020, seems like a long time away. Good to see some new videos coming out. Funny how people love to watch and bitch about stuff..
It's been 2 weeks since this video came out, I have been so busy with work, daughter, life etc. let me tell you it was worth the wait.... awesome video Tommy so glad so you guys back... 👍👊🏻
Great Video guys! I'm really curious to see how much of our trip overlaps. We just got back from doing the Utah Traverse this October. I've got the first few videos up, but as you know editing takes forever! Can't wait to follow along.
@@BOLDOVERLAND I can't wait! We got stuck in mud, turned back by 12+ inches of snow, and had to dig our way out of a creek bed. All in all an amazing trip!
I wish I could save up enough to make my T4R as capable as yours. Icon suspension going on this spring...do you guys have any feedback on Icon? I seem to hear mixed opinions, but I feel it will be a good choice.
Craig Wexler Brother, you wont find a better mid travel kit. We all run Icon and have no derogatory feedback. Contact Fred Brayton at @ivdsuspension and let him know we sent you, he’ll take care of you. Also, stand by for giveaway of some @iconalloys in the near future. 🍺
@@BOLDOVERLAND great to know...are you guys also running 33s? Did you hve to regear with just running bigger tires before adding everything else? I try to ask people with hands on experience and enjoy your vids.
I dig the Foley sounds added to the opening drone shot. Somebody definitely knows how to fly and move the gimbal. Good stuff. I’d be curious how you got the OK to use some of your music. But I like it. I’m sure this sounds nitpicky, but I’m not a big fan of Times new Roman font. Somebody is pretty good with their transitions. It sure looks like a great road trip. Even though it occurred something like 10 months ago. Two big thumbs up!.
Mario Please do, it’s more in scope of what we do man. Unfortunately, to get to most real backcountry trails, we have to pound pavement and stop at KOA’s to make good time.
Excited for the coming content but... A bazillion people drive from wherever they live to the Rockies or the Desert SW or wherever every week. These throw away pt1 videos of travel series are pointless. Everyone is capable of driving on the highway. Everyone that isn't retired tries to drive a bunch at once to save their time off. There is zero compelling content in getting to the start of the billed travel area in the title. This is obviously not just this video but everyone does it and I don't know why. If you want an introductory video talk about the route and how long you will take or something. HIGHWAY TRIPS SUCK ON VIDEO AND HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FOCUS OF THE TITLE. LOL that felt good.
@@RevereOverland That explains a 60 second montage not an entire episode :/ Or you can have a little nugget about who the person when is it is relevant. People frame the intros like you are going to really get to know the person and like it will matter but it doesn't because these journeys are not usually not long enough and frankly not much happens to merit the getting to know you part. The journey should be interesting that's why people are tuning in. Otherwise its "people get in their truck and drive from where they live to Grandmas house in FL". No one is going to tune in for that but that is exactly what you get. Everyone gets the concept of getting to the start of a trip. We don't need to see it. I have watched literally hours and hours of footage of people doing stuff that has nothing to do with the title. There is nothing to do with the Utah Traverse in this video. Literally nothing. This video is interchangeable with every single part one episode of every trip like this. The title could say "Trip to Mexico", or "Trip to Washington BDR" or "Exploring Canada's Maritime Provinces". It would literally make no difference. Not trying to harp on this channel as like you said everyone does it...but they shouldn't. I support quite a few channels on Patreon or other ways and most of the ones that are my favorite and do the best job of taking you somewhere and making you feel like you are there don't have these throw away episodes. Just food for thought from someone who pretty much doesn't watch normal TV and only watches travel and overlanding content.
I'm here for the story and personalities! Just because it's highway doesn't mean it's not part of the journey or story! I just rewatched Expedition Overland's South America series and in episode one it's a full 21 minutes before they even get in their vehicles, and 30 before they actually take them anywhere!
@@RevereOverland LOL I hate that Channel and that series, partly for just that reason. I am not alone if you read through the comments either. That and the fact the whole show is nothing but border crossings and that half the places they went you could have taken a minivan to. Even the spot in the dunes was right off the federal highway through the area. The polish and editing and cinematography of that series is excellent. But there is maybe 2 episodes worth of actual interesting overlanding content in that whole series. I actually left out X overland as a prime example of being a huge offender in this subject because my post was already super too long lol, Have to agree to disagree. There are one guy one cam operations that put out way better content than X Overland despite the exotic locales and metric tons of money and endless vehicle prep, which is almost never needed.
Great video! It makes me really want to head back out to the mountains of CO... And for it to be summer again.
Revere Overland Thanks for watching, it means a lot 👍🍺
I'd love to get out there!
Great job with the video! Looking forward to more of the adventure!
JK southwest it get much more intense 👍 Thanks for watching 🍺

Great stuff, can't wait for the rest!! See y'all in April!
Florida Expeditions It gets intense, stand by and thanks for watching!!! 🍺
Wow!!! I miss Colorado!!
SHAWИEE HILLS WORKSHOP We hear you!

ScenicCity Overland Right on, we will take a look for sure! Things got interesting for us, stay tuned!!! 🍺👍

I'm sitting here in Nashville, wishing I could go with.
Utah is amazing. I suppose I can give western Colorado some credit too.
Right on, yes we should 🍺

Chances are your 4runner is plenty capable
Craig Wexler the white limited is re geared and running 305 65 R17’s. The TRD Pro is supercharged with factory gearing.
Sir William Goes yep, pretty capable from the factory. Investing in an educated mind is the best investment for off road travel.

Loren Worthington Thanks for the kind words. Team member Mike Hallman knows his way around a drone and camera🎥🍺👍
Very well made video ! And I especially loved the music ;) Can't wait to see more !
Refreshing to hear, thanks for your comments. Season 3 gets very intense, we can't wait to share the rest of our videos!
You guys spell Salina Kansas wrong lol
bigsky pylot whoops... don’t worry about that little guy....
Snowmaster / boldoverland giveaway!!! Dhodge.treks
Less highway driving and KOA camping would have been better or remove the Overland part in your name 🤷🏽♂️
Mario Thanks for watching 🍺
BOLD OVERLAND I’ll give the next episode a shot too!

It's part of the journey, story, and introduces the people in the series. That's why everyone does it.
