I agree with having solar battery bank changeable batteries for all of my radios. Battery added to my cart. UV-9R plus shooooould be here in a few days. Thanx for the video
Funny I was coming to comment that these existed & should review them & you already had the review up 😂 FYI they also have UV5r usb-c batteries now too
I wouldn't support a radio I don't like by selling things like that for it unless it was something I already had at a huge discount so someone really in need could afford it. The multipin radios are way more superior & if the take rate was higher, Baofeng would improve on them more.
@@CallMeColtLLC I haven't seen them. I agree that style isn't as nice but I have tons of adapters and radios already for it. 🤷♂ EDIT: Maybe you are thinking of that little USB cable you can plug in to the batteries. Those SUCK and it's an extra cable. They tend to backfeed and never seem to charge the battery fully.
@@jmr No, they have ones just like in the video. And they also make good direct charges, you just need to buy from a good seller. I used the before changing to the multipin type.
@@CallMeColtLLC I'll try looking again. Either way I should have the parts to retrofit the batteries I have with USBC charging tomorrow evening. Thanks for the video!
Have to ask a stupid question, because I can’t find it anywhere. I just got mine and put them on the charger cord they came with. Are they still charging with the orange and green flashing (briefly)? Does it go solid green when fully charged?
My tests have shown it is fine for what it is rated at, IP67. All the "tests" I have seen showing that these radios are not waterproof are exceeding IP67 rating & is why they fail.
I have plugged mine into a fast charger and it is not at a problem. I believe there is a regulator internally that will keep it from being overcharged or charged too quickly.
Darn, a bunch must have been ordered already! I'm considering making a bulk order myself directly & then selling on my eBay store since it seems they're not really available & someone will need to take the leap of importing them.

No problem! Hopefully the batteries become more available soon.

I try to stay on top of things.
you mentioned about .. can modify battery case ... yes.... have done it with no issue.
I figured, Dremel is a wonderful tool! Use it on many things.
You should def import & resell this & the extended usb-c uv5r battery

@@CallMeColtLLC I understand it’s a shame the multipin aren’t the standard for a few more $ it’s vastly superior
If only they would do this with the BL5 style extended batteries. I'm adding USBC charging myself on those.
I think they have, I just haven't explored them because I dislike that style of radio.

Great video. Does the battery you have there for the GY-3WP?
If you mean the GT-3WP, yes!

They should
There's been tests done that show this device is not actually waterproof

Do you know if a UV-5R drop in charger will also charge a Radioddity GM30?
No idea. I do nothing with the UV5R as I don't like it since there are much better options for the same cost available. Sorry.
On the type c battery can i use a fast charger on it like more wattage to charge it?

@CallMeColtLLC your battery still okay today?
@harveytahir8235 it was up until I sold all the radios a few months back.
@@CallMeColtLLC okay2 thankyou for respond appreciate
@@CallMeColtLLC okay thanks I'm scared of exploded due to high voltage and wattage of charging using a fast charger
do a work shop tour video!
I dunno, it's a mess.
Says there currently unavailable on the link. Good option tho thanks for finding these.

Definitely a cool design I saw another kind with a charging port like what's on the base of the charger with usb on the other end.
@@madmaxinthunderdome I saw that one available for import.
Good Job
Thank you!
We’ll done🎉
Thank you!
Is it safe? I am afraid about exploding
Nothing is safe.
Nice god bless
Thank you
