Little update: First one died after a few months, so I ordered a second one, which didn’t work at all. If you want a long-term solution, you’d be better off investing in some higher quality hardware.
I don't see any difference. The original signal is even better, sharper and brighter. I have one. The signal 720p or 1080p is written on the tv. But I don't see any difference. Why? I thought it would be sharper but it still blurry asf and I can't even play the game, especially Valkyrie Silmeria...
The best solution for image quality, sharpness , and clarity on a ps2 are component cables (Y PB PR). the video signal is split into three separate signals: red blue and green as apposed to just one signal (yellow cable). Component cables are the highest video quality out of all the analog signals and is the closest thing to an Hdmi ( digital) signal that there is. It kinda goes like like this on a scale. Rf, composite: yellow white red, s- video, rgb scart, component: red blue green red white, and the finally hdmi.
@@Guiltless765maybe if you’re looking for oem Sony ones, but even a decent third party component cable is going to be better than the dark and blurry composite it comes with.
Hola, no entiendo bien inglés perdón. Quiero hacer unas preguntas: 1) Con el conversor AVtoHDMI hay que configurar algo dentro de la Ps2? 2) Tiene Imput Lag?
I can only recommend it to people who have TVs with adjustable black/white levels to get rid of the harsh contrast. Other than that it's pretty good. I use it for my Mega Drive on my living room TV, because for some reason RGB signals make the screen shaky. Not happening on my small bed room TV.
Hi, are you running the games on some emulator or opl? The original AV mode seems to have lines running across the screen at mid section of the video, which I often see when I run my ps2 games using opl or gsm mode.
Keith Chua No not on a emulator. Those lines are called interlacing. All AV outputs have those lines (dvd, vhs etc) only they won’t show on your TV. Try playing a DVD on your PC and you’ll notice those lines as well (while not visible on your tv).
I don't know what I'm doing wrong but when I connected my ps2 slim to my 24" monitor it doesn't look like your video at all, is there some kind of trick I'm missing? Regards.
How do you know it's upscaled to 720p?. Was it written on the screen?. Ps2 max video is 480i for ntsc & 576i for pal version games. Progressive scan mode can make it to 480p for both region using hdmi or component cables. You cant upscale it to 1080 or 720p if the game itself is not supported. Only gran turismo 4 ntsc support 1080i resolution. But from my experience component cable makes the graphics better than original av cable. Brighter & higher definition. It can activate progressive scan mode in the game. Av makes the game look blurry, dark & not clear especially on a modern tv. I never tried hdmi.
Those av to hdmi, grabs the interlaced res and converts them to progressive 720/1080, like in the video most of them are shit, better buy component or ps2 to hdmi (avoid orange ps2 to hdmi, they're same av upscaler shit)
Hi I bought one of these av2hdmi I connect the PlayStation to the TV with HDMI When playing the game, the TV screen turns blue Why do you think this happens??? Thank
I have the same box and everything was darker I had to turn on the brightness through the game settings and it looks fuzzy to me right now I’m playing Dark Alliance 1 on my ps2 slim.
Zitro Music In theory it should work with any device that has AV output. However, I’ve had issues with the sync pulse testing two different brands VHS players. (Video moving horizontally, in and out of the screen). So, I can’t say for sure...
Get a better PC, PCSX2 requires a CPU that has more than 4 cores, any Ryzen will be good to play any game smoothly, I learned that the hard way, there is no way to actually play most games smoothly on 4-core CPU
Hi there. Intereating video. The problem with the device youre using is the input. You see, the upscaler is also upscaling all the noise. Standard 3 lead 1 video 2 audio produces the worst inage possible. Especially on a lcd. The better aolution is the ps2 to hdmi adapter which is the one i have. Its a composite input which gives a much clearer image. It doesnt upscale but you can use the 480 progressive output. The image will be many times clearer even compared to that device in 1080p because of removing the analogue cables, reducing the variables which introduce noise. That's my experience anyway Hope this helps.
I borrowed my brothers av2 to hdmi that he used for his Sega genesis for use on my ps2 when I got it and my god it was pretty much unplayable completely awful muddy image. got some component cables coming so hopefully that will be better
Using this this thing I thought oh cool it works. Then I go to play a horror game like resident evil and uhh why can’t I see a thing? Went back to the original cables lol. Some games are unplayable with a that device.
Of course it didnt. All ps2 games have 480i & 576i max resolution with some games support progressive scan which can make it 480p. Only gran turismo 4 can bw upscaled to 1080i.

The hdmi Converter gives the ps2 motion blur
Pretty sure motion blur is a default on the ps2 anyway just made more noticeable with upscaled res. Almost every ps2 game i have has motion blur.
