The car park opposite the Job Centre was Wigan baths originally I think.

The old town hall was where the car park is. It was later used as the Wigan magistrates court, with Makerfield magistrates on Crarwford St. now being The Old Courts and Leigh magistrates court being in Leigh town hall. A tunnel was built at large expense from the old police station, now the Premier Inn, to the new magistrates next door to it. Wasted money as the police station was moved to its current location a few years later.
The current baths was built on the same site as the old pool.

Moved from chorley to wigan for work 6 years ago. Best decision I ever made. Away from the bigots. away from all the negy nellys. Chorley is ok for shopping but not good for LGBTQIA folk. Especially when you live in a very Mormon heavy area. In Wigan I just blend in with the crowd rather than stand out from the norm.
Tbh everywhere is a shithole if you look away from the polished spaces.
