I want to thank you for filming this on your way home. This is probably the closest I will ever come to this part of God's country, and it is absolutely gorgeous, so again, thank you. 😊 ❤🦋
I wish everyone could drive through northern British Columbia and the Yukon at least once. The videos and pictures just can’t do it justice. It’s absolutely breathtaking.
I followed your whole trip it was nice
Great trip guy's. Love following your journey.
Glad y'all made it home. Nice riding along with ya.
We hate Walmart too. We always draw straws to see who has to go
Thanks! This was one of the most wonderful road trips I have ever watched. I have just found your Channel 'Our Alaska' and look forward to viewing all the videos. Thanks for keeping it real.
Welcome to the channel! Thank you for the kind words and your support! We really appreciate you joining us🩵
The sunrise, majestic mountains, heavily laden snow covered trees, sunset, the moon, and Home Sweet Home. Such beauty. ❤👍
I know it's so cold there but Alaska is truly a beautiful state. I can understand why you would want to live there. God bless and safe travels. I hope your brother got his home dried in. I worked for Walmart for 18 years and when I got off I went to other stores for my shopping. There was never enough help to get everything out and they worked us to death. I retired 10 years ago and still don't shop there.
They did get it finished and moved in. We will do an update video once his wife gets it all unboxed and set up.
I am a traveling PT. I worked in the Mat Su borough and recognize many of the streets and buildings that you drove by in Anchorage
When you get done with that contract you should contact HR at South Peninsula Hospital. I’m pretty sure we are looking for a PT. We have lots of travelers come through.
@@ouralaskahomestead I’ll bet you do. I loved Alaska so much, but I am having fun in Vermont right now. It reminds me a lot of Alaska in terms of terrain, but the vegetation is just like the midwest ( I am from IL). I may try for a short contract sometime at your hospital, but I am a wimp and dont want to rough it like you guys do!
@@Flossie921 😆 no I don’t imagine many would. The hospital has nice apartments walking distance to the hospital to set you up in.
Thanks for sharing all the road trip home videos. I could watch the scenery you're driving by all day. I am with ya on Walmart Craig, got to be 15 years now since I last entered one.
Thanks for watching!
The GoPro has beautiful clear footage, and the slow panning is awesome. Stunning views!! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much!
Welcome home
Thanks 😊
I hate Walmart too.
Beautiful scenic ride for sure.
Roads bad drive carefully. 🙏 Prayers for safe travels
Thank you 😊
❤ thank you from an ozzie not seeing such snow here. Amazing views and agree winter wonderland. The trip from helping family in Tennessee to your hometown was so generous of you to share. I have been glued to your channel ... loved every second. A bucket list in the making for me
Thank you so much 😊
There’s plenty more snow coming up.❄️🩵❄️
Glad y’all made it home safely! 65 here in Kentucky, getting garden ready for veggies! Be a little bit before you even see the ground!
I’ll be starting seeds inside before too long. That 65 sure would feel nice right now.
👍🏼
The snow and ice is really pretty from where I'm sitting in Louisiana. We have a few nights that drop below freezing in winter. Everything stops if it snows and it sticks for more than 1 day.
Glad you made it back to your property…and then the fun began. Being able to get to your house. Waiting to see what you had to do. 🌹😊. Thank you for sharing your trip home. I certainly enjoyed it!
Thanks for taking us on journey home, now work begins
And LOTS of it!!!
Wow! Anchorage is huge! I left in 1986, I worked at the Diamond Center Mall back then. When I left, there were rumors of the mall being reconstructed into 8 stories with one or two stories below ground with an ice skating rink. How fabulous that the rink was actually installed. Thank you so much for this portion of your trip. I was so lost watching it now. With the mention of the mall, I could see in my minds eye where you were, although your picture of it was wildly different, in a beautiful way. Much of Anchorage was still dirt back then.
Wow! That road past the Y didn't exist in 1977. The road to your right to go to Kenai is where we lived in a very small camper park up the hill just past a laundromat on the left at the bottom of that hill. Wow! Thank u. I just remember a laundromat, a small pharmacy/store, and a phone booth by the road we used. I'm sure there were more buildings. But it was mostly raw land, dirt roads 3xcept for the highways, and not much traffic, certainly mo traffic lights back then of course. I was 16 at the time. Or maybe my directions are off. I could have confused the roads up where you were. But the Kenai/Soldotna area was one lane either directions for sure. They m, too, have of course grown.
From your description, I think I know where the trailer park is and it’s still there if I’m thinking of the right spot.
So awesome. Thank you. And I'm glad yall are home. Hope all is well and cozy. @ouralaskahomestead
Thanks so much for sharing your journey home with us all. Looking forward to seeing the next video 🙏❤️👍
I enjoyed this voyage with you! His voice is so calm and relaxed.
So glad you guys (and the GSD’s) had a good trip but……. It’s always good to be home!! Thanks for taking us along.
Majestic scenery. Glad you made it home. Curious do you carry additional fuel supply for those long Barron journeys?
We do! We have had to use spare fuel two separate times due to closed stations (not all have 24/7 pumps). If you travel in a car and just during business hours you’d probably be fine.
Oh my but at least you’re home! Cliff hanger! Thanks
Quite the trip! So much beautiful scenery along the way! Felt like I was there with you. So glad you made it home safely! Looking forward to your next video where you actually arrive at your house! Nothing like being at home! Take care!
Welcome Home! We are with you on the Walmart feelings for sure!
Thanks guys🩵
We avoid walmart too!
Happy for you guys made it home safe.can't wait for next video. Keep it up and God bless🙏💝🙏
Thank you so much 🤗
If I'd blinked i would have missed that crossing. If this is real time thats crazy, less than a minute to get through.
The only thing we edited out was the license plate number. It was under 1min from the time we pulled up until she let us through.
Glad y’all got home safely.
Sure looks pretty from inside the truck 👌👍
Well what a shock on your return to the property !!!!!! THANK GOODNESS I spoke with you in Bills live y'day so I know you're safely home and all is well. Fabulous drive from NC to Home on the Peninsular, THANKYOU a million times over for sharing a part of the world I'd never see otherwise. One thing I'm surprised about is there appears to be so little difference between the northern Alaska landscape to that on the Kenai Peninsula????? I'll enjoy your next video as you show us how you overcame that huge entrance obstacle in the dark and snow storm. Much love from this Aussie Nan 🇦🇺🤗💞🙏👌👍✌️👏🇺🇸
Right now it all looks the same because everything is covered in snow and only the spruce trees are visible. Summer, you can’t beat the Kenai Peninsula. Volcanoes, mountains, glaciers, lupine and fireweed…it’s amazing 💜
@@ouralaskahomestead I'll await your scenic tours then when summer arrives on the Peninsula 👍👍👍👍
Driving along with you I find myself looking at the road ahead as if I were driving , I have to remind myself to look around at the magnificent scenery and enjoy the ride.. clearly the roads in Alaska are better maintained than Canada roads.. nice to know your son Chris is not too far away..after than long , long drive to be so close to home and have your drive impassable must be very frustrating.. you sure left us hanging at the end..but we will be awaiting the next installment of your journey.. so appreciate your channel, it is by far my favorite❤️
That’s an amazing compliment 😊 Thank you so much and thank you for joining us.
And the spectacular view continue Betcha the route is is just as pretty in better weather. Here in Ontario, Canada Walmart is always changing where they put food items ticks me off too. Burr looks frigid up there. Nasty snow storm folks no doubt you were relieved to e back home , see ya on the next video .
Fall is my absolute favorite time to make the drive. Leaves are changing, tourist traffic is minimal, animals are all out prepping for winter.🍁 🍂
Indeed it would be gorgeous in the fall colors
Glad you guys made beautiful land now the work and getting warm inside your cabin but hey it will happen day to day yes I hate shopping at times haha you guys got it now be safe great video 👍🔥
guys when I was younger I used to gather and cut into rounds and split by hand 10 cords for 3 houses each summer and I tried to get in a month and most of the time I did it so I can tell you log splitters are lazy people right my uncle who is in his 70s still split his own wood and I am 55 now and still split my own wood it is good for you lol
Expect your glad to be home, well, nearly. 🥶. For me I’m sorry it’s all over 😢The journey - there and back - has been very enjoyable. Great scenery, interesting commentary and flashes of humour. 🤣 Thank you for the effort in posting the vlogs. It’s bin a blast💥. Brilliant few hours arm chair travelling. Phil, Suffolk, U.K. 🇬🇧
We are very happy to be home! Now the real work begins. Trying to get our house finished.
We’ll be traveling the state this summer, exploring different areas of Alaska.
Thanks for the wonderful trip. Loved the swimming hole, and yes Walmart no good!
Thanks for watching!
Oh I can't wait 5 months and I'll be back down there. That looks like a totally different drive in the winter
It is!!!
I can't wait to hear how you got through all that snow when you got home!!
Home again, home again. Jiggity jig!
Thank you for sharing your journey, for sharing all the scenery with us. Happy you are back home safe and sound. Stay warm. And yes we cannot stand Walmart either. Recently they took away the change rooms meaning you cannot try in clothes anymore; it’s an issue because we live in a town with only a few clothing stores.
They took ours away too! Might as well just buy online if i can’t try stuff on beforehand.
@@ouralaskahomestead Agreed , some of the size charts online give you more information on size too.
So glad you made it home safely 👏🤗
so beautiful thanks for sharing your travels
Our pleasure!
Hi really enjoyed your traveling home vlogs scenary was amazing thankyou
Our pleasure 😊
Thanks for the scenic road trip
Glad you enjoyed it
Doesn't your heart just skip a beat when you get back to Alaska...home. looking at KTUU I knew you were going to have some issues when you got back. I'm assuming by now you're dug out and safely home.❤❤ Thanks for the ride.
We are home. Dug out….not so much.
I went to the Anchorage mall, we got stranded cuz our plane had birds fly into the engines so we got to explore the mall while we waited for a new plane. Went on a mission trip to Kenai and we stayed in soldotna near a mcds and a grocery store where we could get a fishing licence. That was during the summer. So wild to see the roads with all that snow!!!
What a long time to get home. But worth it in the end, you will need a couple days to recover. NZ
Good luck. Welcome home✌️🇺🇸❤️
Thank you 🩵
Long drive
Just an fyi, there are at least 20 Three Bear Stores and gas stations in Alaska. My grandson works at one outside of Wasilla. Just in our area there is a gas station in Hiuston, store and gas station in Big Lake, store and gas station in Meadow Lakes on Pittman, gas station in Wasilla, Store and gas station on Palmer Wasilla close to Palmer, Store and gas station on KGB out of Wasilla, a store and gas station on parks up by N Birchwood on the way to Anchurage. They are accumulating more.
Enjoyed your trip, my late husband and i made the trip 3 times from Missouri up and back until we moved here in 2015. We loved coming through Canada's big National Park, not sure the name but road came up the back way by all the prince townships.
Thats just what i call local ones.
Sean in Alaska channel he lives near Holmer good you guy's got home safe to we dont have a walmart im in Australia but hey im in and out as soon as i get what i need very quick Very dangerous driving with out lights on the trailer
By the way I avoid Walmart also.
Didn’t know yall was from NC.. I’m from NC in the foothills and my wife and daughters and I have been looking into moving to Alaska for some time now. At least I’ll have an idea of what the drive will look like.
I’m from Ohio and Craig, Florida. We were in TN for a few months rebuilding families cabin that burned down. While down there we were working near Asheville, NC
home sweet home....how you get a warm place to sleep at least tonight
Glad you're back. Did it feel strange after being gone so long?
It did and it didn’t. I don’t know if that makes sense. It was such a whirlwind down in the lower 48 the time kinda just flew by. It’s great to be back!
Can you imagine doing that trip in an EV pulling a trailer? You would have to stop every 50 miles to charge!
There aren’t even enough charging ports to support that 😆 You’d have to carry an equipped generator to charge it yourself.
Yes I don’t like Walmart!!!
Not sure why you Texans don't have a plow. Sub'd
I worked in TX for a bit, grew up in Ohio. We have a plow for the SxS but of course it’s buried in snow up at the house 🤷♀️
I do everything I can not to shop at wallworrd
and yes i hate Walmart with passion
Hmm, Walmart, don't get me started. 😾
How many E V charging stations did you pass on the drive through Canada?
Not very many. There were more this trip than last for sure. People do make the drive in EV’s but idk if I’d try it in winter.
I hate Walmart with a passion
Dose it take y'all a while getting your body back use to temperature diffrence from Alaska s to Carolinas temperature is right opposite especially during summer for Carolina s temp can get in triple digest hot
I haven’t and wouldn’t want to try a Carolina summer 🥵 Those Yukon -40 temps acclimated us pretty quick!
I hate walmart to .
Any idea what it coast for a week drive home.
$2500
Thanks for the feed back . Got a nice place . Was in the 60 here in mo today.
In your whole trip, never had to put on chains?
Six winter trips and we’ve never used chains. Truck has snow rated tires and does real good.
hey guy one TH-cam channel I watch they are in tok Alaska and the channel named Wildwood Off Grid Alaska maybe you can make some friends
Tok is about 10 hours away! Simple Living Alaska is up there also.
I also hate Wal-Mart
I hate Walmart!
Us too!
I hate Walmart. Unless I am on deaths door I don't want to go there.
Boy u guys live so fare , how fare is the nearest town to u
The nearest town is only 5min, the nearest one big enough to have a WalMart is about 2hrs.
