Maybe not? There's a deleted scene Ryan Reynold's posted to his social media that showed a close up of Gambit and there was a Marvel sparkle circle reflected in his eyes suggesting he survived the final fight and made his way out of the Void to possibly appear in the future. Reynold's later confirmed that Gambit did survive, so who knows?
Channing Tatum has been trying to play Gambit for over 10 years. There was a movie in the works years ago, he even came out on stage at Comic Con in a Gambit t-shirt to announce it. Sadly it never happened so Ryan gave him the chance to finally play him in this movie. Also he doesn't have magic cards, he can charge objects with kinetic energy and make them explode. Which includes basically anything that isn't living/organic tissue.
Actually the owner of Dogpool is doing Comic Cons with the little cutie where you can get professional photos with Dogpool or take a selfie with the precious unicorn. Deadpool is Alex's spirit animal. To answer Alex's question: rubbing alcohol can get you drunk but you probably wont live long enough to feel it... You might not feel it anyways due to projectile vomiting as soon as it is digested.
@@mrmr4622 Isopropyl is the alcohol in rubbing alcohol. It's poisonous to humans. Ethanol is in vodka, I've had 80%+ of that, didn't hurt me. Took a big gulp before I noticed that something was wrong.
Jennifer Garner played Elektra years ago in a daredevil movie, then again in her own solo film. Channing Tatum was supposed to be Gambit in a solo film at fox, but it was canceled when Disney bought fox. He had tried for years to get the movie made, finally got the ball rolling, then lost it all. Love Ryan Reynolds for giving Channing a chance to bring his Gambit to life. You may know this one but Chris Evans actually played Human Torch in 2 older Fantastic 4 movies before the MCU started, which is who he comes back as here
He said he'd come back for that because he was sick and tired of playing the goody-two-shoes no swearing hero, and memorized that speech about Cassandra, rejecting the cue cards offered by Ryan since it was such a long convoluted monologue lol
It wasn't so much that people didn't think Hugh Jackman would do a good job when he was first cast as Wolverine, it's that they had no idea who he was. X-Men was his very first major film role - he appeared in two obscure Australian movies and had small roles on a few Australian TV shows prior to 1999 when he was first cast as Logan, but almost nobody outside of Australia had even heard of him when the first X-Men movie came out.
The best part about this film is it was marketed as a "Deadpool kills the Fox Universe" kind of storyline, but it was truly a love letter to the first wave of comic book movies that us late 20's-30'something year olds grew up with and the end credit montage of all of the old movies cements that perfectly. For that reason, it's by far my favourite MCU movie to date. It's just fun from start to finish
Funny story: buck saying “menopause?” Was actually an improvisation. This was a callback to Deadpool 2 when he forgot his line and Ryan said “damnit buck. No more speaking lines!” And they meant it. They even stopped him from saying his first line in this movie if you paid attention 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Also-as per Ryan’s interview on the Scriptnotes podcast, this was in production during the writer’s strike, and improvising is technically on-set writing, which the strike prohibited. Ryan had pre-written multiple lines before filming and had them registered on the script which allowed for playing on set without legit ad-libs.
Fun fact about Gambit/Channing Tatum. He has wanted to play gambit for years now. The movie was in the process of development but once fox was bought out. They scrapped the script and this was Channing tatum first shot at showing he could be gambit and have his own movie
The one you said looks like Nightcrawler is Azazel. Who is nightcrawlers dad. 😂 Also, Gambit is an Omega level mutant but basically nerfed himself because he saw a version of himself destroying the world. He charges energy in objects. Not just cards. He’s the goat
"You crazy girl." "And you can quote me." "Kayyyyy." That end credit scene is SO FUCKING FUNNY. Such a good way to write out Chris Evans. Like would it be cool to have more Johnny Storm? Sure, maybe. But I don't think Chris wanted to stick around another 10 years. He just made a really funny appearance and every second he added to the movie was flawless. The writing for the movie was fantastic. It really shows how great it can be when not only are you not ashamed of all the good and bad that came before, but that they appreciated it. It wasn't ever cheap it was just like a love letter to the entire history. Even to recent history writing a story based on events of the Loki show.
I've so far watched a number of reactions to this and yours is by FAR the best one! You have the right energy for this and your comments make me confident that you could write for a Deadpool project. I believe in you. " Squeeze that little church bell." Lol it's like you are channeling Deadpool.
37:12 the funniest part about the speech is in the comics they deliberate about killing her and Charles just rolls up with a glock and place a bullet in her head, so it’s so funny to me that he’s like Charles wouldn’t want me to kill you but canonically Charles would put her down like a rabid dog
Dogpool's real name is Peggy and she rose to fame when she was crowned the winner of the Ugliest Dog in the UK competition. She's a pug and Chinese crested cross. Ryan Reynold's children played Babypool and Kidpool.
"You were always the wrong guy" seems like a reference to Hugh Jackman being a controversial casting for a short Canadian character before audiences saw the first X-Men movie. On face value referring to how reluctant he was to help in Logan.
I think it is the fact that virtually ALL versions of Logan have a big amount of "don't give a fuck" and typically don't want to get involved with anything and distances himself but usually ends up being pulled in either way. Only to end up saving the day at cost to himself. He is deep down a good guy and reluctant to be so, which is where "you were always the wrong guy" comes in. He is the wrong guy because he doesn't want to be that guy. But that don't mean shit because at the end of the day, he's the fucking wolverine. And he's ALWAYS the right guy.
No. That's one of Logan's catchphrases. In several of the movies, when another character approaches him asking him to be Wolverine again, he always tells them they've got the wrong guy before reluctantly helping them when they insist they know that he's Wolverine.
@@piusdoe8984 they break the fourth wall with a joke about Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, and Gambit spends a number of lines referring to Channing Tatum having been selected for the role but never getting his movie. I don't think they're being picky about which characters are and aren't "allowed" to make meta references. But this is just something that occurred to me, anyway, not what I think is the truth. I like to think it's sort of all of the above.
Fun fact about puppool, Ryan's daughters wanted to adopt her, but he explained that she already has a family that loves her, and the owner refused to give her away ofc ❤
"Watching *Deadpool & Wolverine* for the first time has been an absolute thrill ride! I’ve always been a fan of Marvel and the unique blend of humor and action that *Deadpool* brings to the table. Ryan Reynolds absolutely nailed the character, capturing that perfect mix of sarcasm and charm. Seeing him interact with Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman, is like a dream come true for any comic book fan! The dynamic between the two characters is electric; Deadpool's irreverence contrasts so sharply with Wolverine's gruff demeanor, creating some genuinely hilarious and heartfelt moments. What I love most about this film is how it really plays with the rules of superhero movies, breaking the fourth wall and poking fun at the tropes we’ve come to expect. The self-aware humor is refreshing, and it invites viewers to laugh not just at the characters but at the genre itself. The action scenes are jaw-dropping too-intense choreography that keeps you on the edge of your seat while infusing humor into the most outrageous situations. It’s also interesting to see how the film navigates the complexities of their characters. Wolverine, with his dark past and struggles, contrasts beautifully with Deadpool’s chaotic nature, and their partnership highlights themes of friendship and redemption. This adds a layer of depth that I wasn't expecting, making it not just a comedy but also a story about overcoming personal demons and understanding one another. I can't help but appreciate the clever writing that brings out these themes amidst the laughs and action. And let’s not forget the cameos and references scattered throughout! As a long-time fan of the comics, catching those Easter eggs was so satisfying. It felt like a love letter not just to the characters but to the entire Marvel Universe, bridging together various elements in a way that feels cohesive yet chaotic, just like Deadpool himself! Overall, my first experience with *Deadpool & Wolverine* has left me eager for more! It expertly balances humor, action, and emotion, proving once again that superhero films can be both fun and meaningful. I’m excited to dig deeper into the lore and see how these characters evolve in the future. Here’s hoping for more adventures with these two iconic characters!"
The comic by wade when he wakes up in the void is the 2015 version of Secret Wars, which, given the announcemnt of them replacing Kang with Doom is likely what the Doomsday/Secret Wars movie will be based on. Also Honey Badger is actually one of aliases of Gabby Kinney, the clone of Laura from the comics.
This movie gave me everything I wanted. Just perfect. Ryan said in an interview that there was only one joke that the big D asked him to take out, but he said they asked, they didn't tell. He was perfectly willing to oblige them. With everything they actually put in, I can't even imagine what that joke must have been.
The line, "it feels like Pinochio shoved his nose up my ass and started lying like crazy" was the replacement for a crude joke involving Elsa from Frozen. Disney still has 2 more Frozen movies planned so they didn't want that joke to be the most recent memory of Frozen before the next movie arrives.
I saw this in the theater with my son and husband. When Wolverine’s shirt explodes my husband said “well, yeah cause that was necessary!” To which I said “well of course it was!” He’s a huge Wolverine nerd. So many freakin comic books!!
Dude, at least half the movie is not the characters but the actors saying something about RL. So many industry and pop culture references as double meanings in this script. Also a few heart felt moments.
Oh, other people have noticed it. Just not many. I noticed it the second it started when I was in the theater, and it cracked me up so hard. Still does. It's one of my favorite parts from the Avengers AND from this. The other one that really no one has noticed was the ED reference of "1 in 4 men..." getting cut short of a full on drug commercial. Tony Stark said it to Loki in the Avengers and Deadpool said it to Wolverine here. One of my other favorite moments in both movies.
Hugh Jackman was not the first choice for the role of Wolverine when they did the first x-men movie that is why he was always the wrong guy ...... untill he wasn't
It's more of a reference to one of Logans catchphrases "You've got the wrong guy" which is pretty much always followed by him reluctantly helping out aka "until you weren't".
I just got the reference when Deadpool meets Nova, "My boy's wicked strong." That's Good Will Hunting, where Casey Affleck says about Will, "My boy's wicked smaht."
35:00 the cool thing about Gambit is he can literally touch anything and turn it into an explosive (I think people too? I think it depends on the comic). His powers are on an atomic level and he’s actually supposed to be stronger than an Omega level mutant. However, in the comics he underwent a surgery that suppressed his powers. Can’t wait to see how they continue his story in the MCU. Channing deserves it after waiting almost 20 years.
This movie succeeded because Ryan Rendolds basically had full creative control. No outside influences from disney. Similar to Star Wars and George Lucas. That's why it was great.
They had to run everything through Kevin Feige though. Theres clips of Ryan talking about it. Saying how he was amazed he gave the greenlight to so much of the script (but no cocaine :D)
People who say that have no idea how films are made. Of COURSE it went through Disney. You think they just handed him the keys to their multitrillion dollar franchise no questions asked? Really? Ryan had the ability to be creative, but everything had to pass execs, producers, boards of directors, etc...like every major film ever....
@@ZrankFappaHi think this was a test from feige. What more proof do they need that we dont need more politically correct characters, woke plot points, etc in their movies?
How have you not seen any Blade movies Alex? He's the great grand-dad of the MCU. If not for the success of those films, the MCU would likely have never happened.
You know what, man? THANK YOU MORE for doing this. There are only 3 moments I was looking forward to in this film: - watching in theatres with my friends - watching at home with my girlfriend - and watching anywhere with you I love the Reel Rejects, Blindwave, The Normies, and Heroes Reforged. Being a man in his 30s, thank you for easing my pains. Love from the Philippines. ❤
A fun detail I didn’t think about until after getting home from watching this in theaters is the fact they used *NSYNC this time, and it was a reference to when they used Celine Dion in Deadpool 2 and he said he should’ve asked NSYNC.
I love that the TVA (Disney) saved Deadpool from his timeline (FOX Cinematic Universe) so he can help the Sacred Timeline (MCU) from withering and dying (Bad Box Office Sales).
25:36 As someone who apperantly drank rubbing alcohol when I was just 3 years old (according to my parents), I can say that yes, it *does* get you drunk apperantly
A special shoutout and thank you to Nick Pauley, the stuntman tasked with doing the Bye Bye Bye choreography in one of the best movie intros in cinematic history. They literally called him and said, "We need you to learn this dance immediately."
You're fun to watch movies with. I've seen every damn thing more than twice...and it's fun watching someone who has a clear appreciation and fun way of articulating. In short, bravo young sir. ✌
The Honey badger was a meme some years ago (Deadpool never misses a meme) for being tough as hell and coming back from whatever you put him through. It was depicted as a biker, super hero, criminal boss... As it is actually a very tough animal: difficult to kill, thick skin, small brain, oversized willpower for his ridiculous size, takes no nonsense from animals ten times bigger than him and, most of all, immune to venomous snakes. And it likes to get coma-drunk on fermented fruits, so that's probably the reason for Deadpool's reference, since Wolverine was doing that precisely. Though he probably just wanted an excuse to call him honey, that's all.
"you were always the wrong guy" its a callback to logan saying all the time that "im not the guy for this" or "im not a hero" , or "im the wrong guy for this" etc etc. but he still ended up saving the day most of the time.
29:52 bro when I tell you that my dad and I absolutely LOST IT in the theaters!!! 30:10 I’m actually REALLY happy for Chaning, He’s been waiting for this for YEARS at this point, I’ll bet you that he was Practicing Gambits accent for YEARS!!!
I can't help but laugh at the image of Wolverine hiding in the back of a Honda Odyssey. Like was he just napping back there or rolling his eyes every time someone said something?
I love that in the German dub with Human Torch they actually cast the German voice actor from the old F4 movie (which is a different one than who voices Chris Evans as Cap) and Deadpool says, "Ah, should've recognize him by the voice". It's so heartwarming that seemingly EVERYONE involved is passionate about this movie and their cameos in it~

To answer Alex's question: rubbing alcohol can get you drunk but you probably wont live long enough to feel it... You might not feel it anyways due to projectile vomiting as soon as it is digested.

Jennifer Garner played Elektra years ago in a daredevil movie, then again in her own solo film.
The end credit montage made me cry. That was my childhood
😆😆
Also-as per Ryan’s interview on the Scriptnotes podcast, this was in production during the writer’s strike, and improvising is technically on-set writing, which the strike prohibited. Ryan had pre-written multiple lines before filming and had them registered on the script which allowed for playing on set without legit ad-libs.

The one you said looks like Nightcrawler is Azazel. Who is nightcrawlers dad. 😂
Also, Gambit is an Omega level mutant but basically nerfed himself because he saw a version of himself destroying the world. He charges energy in objects. Not just cards. He’s the goat
Gambit and Rogue are my favorites. I’m glad Channing Tatum finally got to play him. ✌🏻👩🏻🦰👍🏻
Azazel isn’t Nightcrawler’s dad anymore, they retconned his origin back to the one they originally planned but publishers wouldn’t let them
Oh, shit, really? I didn't know they were related. The more you know.
The name is Gambit . . . . Remember it. ;)
I think they changed it now in the comics where Mystique is Nightcrawlers dad
"You crazy girl."
"And you can quote me."

That end credit scene is SO FUCKING FUNNY.

Mm no. If Deadpool said it then yes. But that line isn't being meta or 4th wall if other characters say it. She is just referring to Logan

RIGHT?? Considering they allowed him to make the boy scout pedo leader joke, wtf was written that Disney wanted removed??! 😂😂

Oh, other people have noticed it. Just not many. I noticed it the second it started when I was in the theater, and it cracked me up so hard. Still does.
Disney has been behind every MCU movie since at least the first Avengers. God you people are stupid.
George Lucas most definitely did not have full control over the disney star wars movies...
He's also not why the originals succeeded.
@@ZrankFappaHi think this was a test from feige. What more proof do they need that we dont need more politically correct characters, woke plot points, etc in their movies?

Not a breed. They are just cousins. They are part of the same animal group, that's composed of: wolverine, badger 🦡, honey badger and skunk 🦨
@@liafacchinelli5674 thanks, I just knew they were related 🤙
