Went and picked up a blue one last night. Your video certainly helped me choose what I think is the perfect BBQ. The design and build quality are impressive.
I am so glad to find this older model in a (older) video. I just bought a brand "new" Weber Q1200 today at the mall (12JUL23). Here in the Philippines, even at big stores, we get old US stock. All the new videos are the new model. The date of manufacture on mine says 2015 ha ha 😎
Great video thanks. I just got my Q 1200. I love it!! It grills beautifully. I added the Q cart, 20 lb tank hose and cover. All the accessories were very reasonable.
John Sanchez Thank you! I was excited to get in purple too! Well, technically it's fuchsia, if you order the actual "purple" one it's not as vibrant. It's also available in blue, green and orange :)
Thanks for the video. The local Walmart had these on clearance for 140, so I picked one up blindly. This video gives me some ideas for what to do with it. I was looking for something a bit smaller than my Weber Performer and this seems to fit my needs.
Someone seems to have left a comment and then I guess deleted it (I can't find it here): "You did not read the directions. It said do NOT oil the grill only the food." To clarify, if you read my description, I did add this statement: "EDIT 14/07/2015: A representative from Weber reached out to say “One small detail from our side, we never oil the cooking grates. The oil just burns off when the grill is pre-heated so it’s always best to oil the food, not the grates.” I still prefer to oil the grate, but you can figure out what works best for you." A quick google search of "should you oil the grate or the food grilling" will show you that some people recommend oiling the food, some recommend oiling the grill. Do what suits you. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
Thanks Mark! I appreciate that. I know that BBQ experts say to cook chicken over indirect heat to prevent the chicken from drying out, so I mentioned that I just cooked the chicken this way to show how to use the grill, hoping people would cut me some slack. But if you look through the comments here, you'll see at least one person who says my chicken looks dry.
I haven't had a huge problem with flare ups, but I try to trim the fat off of whatever I'm grilling to avoid them in the first place. I think it's pretty average in that area.
Oh, that's odd. I would reach out to Weber and see what they can do for you. There are TONS of Weber Grills out on the market. They tend to be a bit pricy, but they are very good quality grills. You can check out www.weber.com (or Google Weber plus whatever country you're in to find out what's available near you). I hope this helps!
I'm sorry to hear that. You should get in touch with Weber's customer service. If it's new it's probably covered under warranty, but I'm sure they'd be able to help you out either way.
I did. Not only do I say right at the beginning that the grill "was gifted to me to review, but I was not paid to make this video," but I also state in the description that "this is not a sponsored video. I received the Weber Q 1200 as a gift from a Weber food bloggers event."
Hi Beverly, I just unscrew the black cap off of the green tank, and then screw on the tank at the back (see 1:26 in video). What's preventing you from screwing it on? Let me know, and I'll try to help you out further.

Oh that's interesting! I didn't know that about the Philippines. I hope my video was helpful!
Had one for about a month now-chose the black one. Awesome grill that heats up fast.
Nice Colour, i had buy this Q 1200 in green...but the result was same! Great Grill, much fun!

I'm glad you're enjoying your Q 1200! I've been considering getting the cart myself.
Wonderful video! Not only did you still me on the Q, but my wife is grinning ear to ear that the grill can be purple.

Hey sorry it took me so long to reply. I'm glad the video was helpful. I hope you're enjoying the grill!
Thanks for the insight and detailed look at the Q1200!
Sorry for the late reply!! I'm glad you liked the video!
Nice vid. Mine is on the way tomorrow. I'm a kettle head so it's my 1st gasser
Thanks! I hope you enjoy using it, I still use mine every summer :)
@@InSearchOfYummyness did 2 cooks on it today. 2lb rib eye and some brats. Works awesome. Great grill. My 7 charcoal grills might get a long break 😆
@@Ajnichols62 Nice! I'm glad you're enjoying cooking on it :)
Great review! Just what I was looking for.
ThisWondrousWorld Thanks! I'm glad that it was helpful!

haha you're funny and realistic, I can't wait to get one of these grills.
Thanks! :) If you do get one, I hope you enjoy using it!
How else would you cook chicken on a grill. Look good to me!

@@InSearchOfYummyness not true. indirect heat is in the end only.
Doesn't get hot enough for thick steaks even when preheated for half n hour.It actually stews it.
Thanks for your input! That's good to know. I've never grilled a steak on my Weber (I like to cook mine stovetop).
Cool video...I have the electric version...after watching... I wanna get the gas version...thanks
Thanks, I hope you like the gas version.
How are flame ups?
I haven't had a huge problem with flare ups, but I try to trim the fat off of whatever I'm grilling to avoid them in the first place. I think it's pretty average in that area.
The handle does not let me screw it on .Thanks for taking the time to reply .Are there different types of Weber Grills .

you grilled just fine. your supposed to do it hot then turn it down after.
Thanks! Yeah I've learned more about grilling in the six years since I filmed this :)
My new Q Grill does not light up with either the propane tank and ignition or with the match. Soap test does not show leaks.
I'm sorry to hear that. You should get in touch with Weber's customer service. If it's new it's probably covered under warranty, but I'm sure they'd be able to help you out either way.
By the way, how many staeks like medium size ribeyes can you cook at the same time in this weber? Thanks
+Oscar Garreta Sorry, just seeing this now. Um, honestly I'm not sure. Maybe 2?
You need to say if the grill was comped Weber
I did. Not only do I say right at the beginning that the grill "was gifted to me to review, but I was not paid to make this video," but I also state in the description that "this is not a sponsored video. I received the Weber Q 1200 as a gift from a Weber food bloggers event."
I am in Washington State and we got it from Camping World.
How did you screw on the cylinder on mine does not let me screw on the cylinder.
Hi Beverly, I just unscrew the black cap off of the green tank, and then screw on the tank at the back (see 1:26 in video). What's preventing you from screwing it on? Let me know, and I'll try to help you out further.
Do you need to add charcoal?
+Alweezy Nope, no charcoal needed.
Very cool video was thinking of getting this U just made my decision thanks.
Thanks!
Welcome
Just got the same grill, thank you (I'm super boring also)
I hope you enjoy it! I just set mine in the backyard for this summer and I can't wait to get grilling again :)
