Apparently they are nerfing the turret gimbal speed rather than its tankiness. I do think it should probably lose an s3 shield. If they bring it up to a 30+ degree pitch and yaw when they take it away, that is pretty sweet. Having the same shields as a hammerhead is ridiculous.
I am sitting on a concept pledge for one in buyback for $250, just waiting for more of my friends to come back before cashing it in. Any of the changes they've talked about are fine with me. If they don't change any of it, I am still fine.
For fleet engagements, I think this thing is gonna be king. Same crew gives you two redeemers or a redeemer plus perseus for the same crew as a single hammerhead. What would you rather have in your fleet?

Yup, halved its slew rate in the latest PTU patch. Agreed it really could lose a shield, as having the same as ships 2-3 times its size is somewhat too much, although as you say only if its agility is increased. 30°/s might be a tad too much as that's too close to the vanguard which is a lot weaker when both are fully crewed; 26 is about right in my opinion, as thats exactly halfway between the vanguard and HH.
I think this and the perseus would be fantastic together if you know you're going against larger ships. The moment you have small light fighters in the mix however - assuming balanced as CIG stated was intended - these two would struggle whereas the hammerhead would shine. As such, i dont think its a question of preference for ones fleet but rather, what you're going up against
