SWSH is boring but finished. Scarlet and Violet are interesting but insulting. I still am baffled they released a game that preformed this poorly and have changed essentially NOTHING and made really NO COMMENT on the state of the game's terrible performance. Instead they offer us more DLC which is probably gonna be just as buggy/laggy.
Scarlet and Violet? Nah. Let me tell you something about this. 1. Pokemon center - 2 out of 10 2. GYM - Doesnt feel like a gym, booring. Compared to sword and shield. Sword and Shield .. waaaaay better. 3.Terastal - nah Dynamax on sword and shield is way cooler. 4. Legendary pokemon are robots made by a scientist.
No, Sword and Shield are shit when compared to Scarlet and Violet. Yes, Sword and Shield had better customization and (imo) better Pokemon designs, mainly in Grimmsnarl, Corviknight and Cinderace. However, Scarlet and Violet has a better and not actually boring gameplay loop, far better story, better soundtrack, and better, more interesting and developed characters.
Gen 9 maybe open world but is barren and the pokemon sizes are negligible compared to pla. Honestly i dont see the next update fixing framerate if at all so we will stay like this till the end of the generation
My biggest gripe is the map. Everything is on the map, but the Zoom in and Zoom out doesn't allow you to actually see where you are going efficiently. You have to Zoom out to see where the Team Star bases are. You can't set your destination while Zoomed out. In fact, you cant even pinpoint the location of a Team star base beacuse the curosor wont stay in the same place it was in when it was Zoomed out. This make the only rematch option of Team Star bases that much more annoying to memorize the locations of.
SV are still worse than SWSH, since SWSH accomplished what it proposed itself to be, while SV didn't. Yes, SWSH didn't have open world, but that's because it wasn't the intention, as the games have always been like that. And while I see the point for texture on models, most of them look completely out of place (for example, when a pokemon design indicates a certain leaf design but the texture is just standard leaves pattern, like Rilaboom) and caused the game to look lifeless, desaturated and overall ugly when trying to reach the realistic design. Pokémon was made to look cartoonish, not realistic, and SWSH delivers that perfectly with vibrant and bright colors, 3D Models that look directly extracted form the Anime, and beautiful scene composition. One of my biggest complaints with SV (despite it looking like a dry bush in a desert) is the pokedex. Galar is a british-inspired region and the pokémon you find there are the most british they can get; Tea pokemon, Raven pokemon, JAMES BOND STARTER!!!!, you got the point. Paldea is Iberian-inspired, which means Portugal and Spain, but it barely has any references in its pokedex to those places. Not in the starters, not in the legendaries, not even in the human characters but that's a whole other topic. We went from JAMES BOND, SOCCER and ROCK to magician cat, egyptian crocodile singer and a carnival-like duck. I mean, seriously? There are some references to Iberia in the dex, but they're either a few or subtle. Smoliv, Lechonk, Fidough? Yeah, those fit. Egyptian scarab, egyptian ostrich, and rpg soldier? WHY?! SWSH proposed itself to be a british pokemon game that looks like the anime, it was accomplished. SV, in the other hand, propsed itself to be an Iberian pokemon game with different gameplay that looks more realistic with textures and a new open world. But it was not Iberian enough, the new gampleay had and still has MANY problems and bugs that will never be fixed because the switch CANNOT support their intentions, with textures that have a huge probability of not matching what the pokémon's design is intending to be, and an ugly and unfinished open world that, once again, cannot be supported by the switch. SV is still a huge step in the franchise, bringing the open world, the textures, the many-story-gameplay, but, sadly, it was completely half baked probably due to Nintendo's and TPCi's urge to release a new game every 3 years even if it compromises the entire integrity of the game. The only times this game looks good is when you're inside some building because then the switch isn't forced to overload itself and can actually fully render the room.
Respect your opinion about the pokedex not referencing the regions inspiration. About the textures, they do look out of place occasionally but I think that's largely because of the entire rest of the game looking blurry and the mons looking a mix of unsaturated but over realistic. But again It depends on what you prefer since Pokken tournoment had a similar take on the mons textures. Also you have to remember, so many people left Sword and shield disappointed because of its un ambitious take on the franchise since many hoped for more moving from 3ds to the switch. Again as pointed out in the video, I am not defending its bugs and problems. But when a game like sword and shield accomplishes the same goals as its 3ds predecessors, its not hard to see why it did the simple things right, but even then many still complained about its unpolished features like its poor attempt at pokemon following you, very slow raid battles and the same animations and model sizes as the 3ds games in battle. I understand that Sword and shield look more saturated and clearer, but again there is alot less happening on screen at once, exception is the wild area which sometimes slows down in frames as well (and would have slowed down even more if the game used the live battle system like in S/V)
I honestly think that Pokemon was never meant to be open world, it just doesn't work! I tried so many times to play Arceus and S/V, but I can't. I just get bored easily. Hear me out, Pokemon games should be LINEAL, I enyojed S/M, B/W, SW/SH, and to be honest they were very lineal, but it is what it is, Pokemon games shall not be open world. And much less try to get a 'realistic' looking, cartoonish fits more.
Sw/sh just got it right. Just spot on. The graphics, the linear map combined with 3 openworld wild areas. The character designs stood out, following pokemon on the Island and tundra, camping was a very nice touch to make you care for your pokemon. The music was amazing. And that is not to mention the battles. My god the battles. Finally I felt like I was competing in a real tournament. It just felt right. The graphics looked better. The way the backgrounds were out of focus when a character was talking made the characters pop. It truly was an underrated gem. I think Zelda and the other big consoles showed people what was possible, people started complaining and now we got this hot mess of a game. It really feels like I’m playing a gen prior to swsh when I play SV. Very sad.
To me the argument that SV is better because Pokemon have these weird textures is ridiculous. Those textures don't fit the anime aesthetics. It's a silly attempt to make something that's not supposed to look realistic look realistic. SwSh is a much better game. I decided to finally finish my pokedexes in SwSh and the game is just smooth. Going back to SV is a horribly painful experience. Even the UI is horrible in SV.
Thank you. The cartoonish visuals of SwSh were coherent. One of the few strengths these games had, imo, was their strong artstyle. The textures in SV, on the other hand, just don't fit at all and only add to the awkward look of these games.
The thing that upsets me the most is that I can't name 1 single town or area other than Area Zero. Everything in this game just felt, lacking in every sense of the word. It's worth noting I have over 100 hours so it's not like I haven't played the game.
It do be like that though. I can name every town in Sinnoh like Boom, Boom, Boom. Give me enough time and I can name every town in Hoenn and almost every town in Johto and Kanto. I can't do that from Gen V onward. I can name two towns in Unova, a few in Kalos, none from Alola or Galar, and one from Paldea.
@@HunterStiles651I can still remember every Unova and Kalos town, but unfortunately, there's only about one town I can remember in Alola, a few towns I can remember in Galar, and absolutely zero towns I remember from Paldea.
@@HunterStiles651 gen 5 is the most memorable generation literally Nimbasa cuty, Castelia, Nacrene ect are a few the fan base knows stop capping nobody even remembers gen 4s aside from sun shore city and home town 💀
I agree. SV feels super bland. At least Sword/Shield have personality. Also, I think that SW/SH were the right direction for Pokemon to go when it comes to the world design as it mixes linear routes with the wild areas and so on. SV on the other hand, feel like a Unity early game, from the environments to the gameplay and UI.
Agreed. Sword and shield + DLC = is the best pokemon ever made. Yes that includes Arceus. And before you mention dlc, there are cartridges with the dlc on them.
@makememesgreatagain1352 no megas but you got dynamax and gigantamax. That is just a preference thing. Yea there are pokemon missing, but Arceus is probably praised as the best pokemon game of this generation by the general public. And that game only had about 250. Bobody complained about that. Yet this game has 600+ pokemon. Maybe for you the post game was trash. If you actually tried raising your pokemon to play competitively, there was a ton of stuff to do, dynamax adventures, endless dynamax adventures, ranking up in the battle tower, hyper training, the star tournament, max raids. I got 90 hours out of that game and I just completed the main quests. What do you want from a game? For it to be your new life? You can have your preference for sure. But honestly Scarlet and Violet feel like a huge step down from sword & shield. Everything. The graphics, performance, setting, characters, starters the new pokemon everything in S/V feels like I’m playing a game that was made prior to sw/sh. Sure 3DS might have bigger games, but it didn’t look nearly half as good as these games. Black & white were maybe the only really great games back then, but I’m sorry Gen 5’s pokemon suck. Please just look at their designs and tell me with a straight face they’re better. It’s imo the worst designed gen ever. The day they make a Let’s go Marill/Togepi and have it be silver and gold remakes with the quality of Let’s go pikachu and eevee, is the day I’ll say there is a better pokemon game than sw/sh.
@makememesgreatagain1352The only reason you say that is because you're sad megas are never coming back, sw/sh were one of the best pokemon games I've played but they get hate just because the gimmick was broken
Sword and shield are still better in my opinion because scarlet and violet are unfinished. It may have more content and be more fun to play, but they lack quality and optimization.
I don't get the "battle the gym leaders freely" in any order. Why? For one, they're still the same fixed battle level no matter who you face. And you can't get your Pokémon to obey unless achieving certain badge numbers, so what's the point of battling the strongest gym leader first if the game can't let you battle with over level mons (unless they obey attacks).
This video aged poorly tbh I tried to enjoy SV for the past months, but the very fact that the whole area is just empty, towns are meaningless as are npc's, exploration has little to no reward and items were places randomly without any thought put into it The very starting town of SwSh has more soul than whole map of SV
The gameplay mechanics of Legends Arceus was the PERFECT system to build upon for mainline games. . . I hope Gen 10 embraces the Legends mechanics but refine them while optimizing the open world and give us a good story and content comparable to BW2, and HGSS
Who the fck do you think game freak is? You'll bend over for the long corpo dick and shell out the money you're supposed to for daddy game freak then you'll get back on TH-cam to ride game freaks meat some more telling everyone how the game is a 10/10. All in that order and you'll like it
I think wingull actually looks nicer hovering, plus most birds in real life fly as self-defense so it makes sense that the bird pokemon are grounded for their base animation and flying for their battle animation
I recently bought pokemon sword after playing through violet and having some competative battles, etc, and I loved the vibrant colors of pokemon sword, the music, the graphical style i thought was missing while playing violet, I know because while I had lots of fun playing Violet, it wasn't impressive for anyone else onlooking, this kind of felt odd, and not that it matters really - I did think that the finished product of sword and sheild really adds to the experience. but even sword and sheild got lots of criticizms. I guess gen 10 will be something incredible.
SWSH are soooo boring and same like every game we can't even jump from small places man SV are the bestest game of allll time people are just exaggerating things to make SV to look bad while in fact they are best
Still, it would have been better if the Pokémon games are made with 2D anime graphics. There is potential for plenty of content, smoother gameplay, and stable physics when using the said graphics.
@@Hero_of_Sinnoh Even the Pokémon images and items images look really good in SV. You can put a cel of them over a 3D background, and the results can be good. The 2D characters would have to be taller than the Generation 5 overworld character sprites. At least doing so will be better than how the BDSP overworld characters look.
For me it boils down to what is worse: a boring game or a broken game. Gen 8 may be technically superior however it is so bland and boring. Gen 9 has some of the worst glitches and bugs I’ve ever seen in a game but it’s core gameplay is fun and I’ve had fun the entire way through, so gen 9 all the way
YES! Someone else gets it! I hate the fact that there's no battle tower in this game. Maybe they could have turned Area Zero into a battle facility of some sort, but they didn't. Another thing that really bugs me about Scarlet and Violet currently is that there are NO post-game Double Battles. Seriously, there are a total of FIVE double battles in the game. That's it? Really?! As far as I know, the Indigo Disc fixes this, thank god, but there are so many double battle strategies that I want to try, but I can't try them outside of online battles, and to do that, I need a Switch Online membership, which I currently don't have! That's just not good game design.
Gen 7 is essentially Gen 6 Deluxe edition. There were tradeoffs, but Alola games were mostly an expanded version in my eyes. I cannot compare both much more than that
Can't decide between 6 and 7. Both had they're flaws but also brought unique mechanics. Gen 6 ( megas, 3d models,..) Gen 7 ( regional variants, ultra beasts)
scarlet and violet was the first game I finished since the 3ds era(PLA also was fun but I'm counting that as a spin off) It felt like the pokemon were actually alive and real with the textures. Could not finish SwSH cause it was so boring
Other than the actually great music in SW/SH, the dumb sandwich required for eggs generation, the bonkers - totally unbalanced 6 star raids and the already infamous visual and performance issues, totally agree... S/V are much better, specially the story and characters.
Nah bad take. These games are objectively worse than sword and shield. I'm not talking about the current graphical state either. S&V are literally just a big open map with very little content and interesting locations to discover while exploring. Very little character customization - why did they ever bother with it? No poke centers, no pokemarts. You can only enter between 10 to 15 buildings IN THE ENTIRE GAME. Every other building loads you into a jpeg menu screen. These games are literally unfinished and being sold for $60 USD. If these games were actually finished before they released with way more content, then yes, they would way better than Sw&Sh Sorry rant over. Done venting. Have a good day.
So right now would it be worth buying scarlet or sword? Just got a switch about 2 weeks ago and i already beat legends arceus main story, the "post game" is kinda boring just catching pokemon to complete the dex. slighty disappointed with arceus but have loved the gb gba ds and 3ds pokemon games. Is it worth buying both sword and scarlet or would one be better to get sonner than later like for events or support from nintendo. Also not super excited about buying dlcs.
Honestly, start with Pokémon Sword and then get Pokémon Scarlet. The experience was so much better that way for me, but both games are amazing. Sword and Shield get so much hate just because of the limited freeroam. I was so sucked into the story and gym battles that the limited freeroam was easy to ignore. All these freeroam haters should try playing the older games and see how the experience goes😂. At least you can see where Pokémon is in the grass in a 3D world.
If you can buy a copy for about 20-30 bucks go for it SV does have some redeeming qualities to it but it damn sure *in my opinion not worth* the full price it was sold at and to get the most out of it like Sword and Shield the DLC is pretty much required
It's not garbage to alot of people but in my opinion I love all the main games of pokemon I don't hate on any of them I just wish I got one of my favorite snivy line back
As someone who has over 200h of Pokemon SV. No. Your whole argument is that they set out to do new things and that's why it's better. Just trying isn't enough, they tried and FAILED. It's not better, it's worse. Especially when comparing to PLA, this game should be like PLA but better, and they did PLA but worse. The textures are all generic and copy paste, the colors are washed out again, it just doesn't look good. They shouldn't have released something that they couldn't have accomplished in the given time, they should have delayed the game or figured it the fuck out. The concept of open world games is NOT new, there has been many open world games in the past. They had resources to learn about this things and figure out the challenges. The story and characters of this game are great. They had a lot of elements to make this amazing. What they lacked was very likely, time. Time and people. The management of the game was bad and it shows
Again I am not comparing it to LA, I am comparing it to SWSH. I fully agree with that legends Arceus is more polished and better in basically every way. But in comparison to sword and sheild, for the reasons stated in the video, it is designed to be fun for more than just competative players, and takes more risks. I also agree that just trying isn't enough and I never said this was the first open world game ever (more like pokemons first attempts other than LA). I am just saying that if they eventually fix it, it'll go down as one of the best non remake pokemon games of recent generations because of its ambition. But for now they should have defs delayed it, heck even release it at the end of 2023 if it means all the problems of the game are fixed.
@@LuckyBenjamin_ look, I can talk from experience. The story is great. It had everything to be a great game, but I can't tell you how many times my game crashed. I also find it amazing that a game runs worse docked vs in handheld mode. Also, I payed for it, I'm playing it 😂
@@Hero_of_Sinnoh I know you didn't say it was the first open world game. I was just saying that although it's their first attempt they could have taken notes from other projects. I'm honestly just frustrated with the company/management. It has so many good elements, it could have been such an amazing game from the get go, but the performance... christ. I honestly think that PLA was their best release so far, even if its not a main series game. It really made me think that SV was going to be at least just as good and was incredibly disappointed. The teams need more time to work on games, there were too many releases. The company, either the pokemon company, Nintendo or game freak, is treating pokemon as a cash cow and BD/SP and SV are the results :s I have a though time thinking of SWSH as the predecessor when PLA exists. If PLA didn't exist, SV would not be as bashed as it is even with the performance issues.
They aren’t Sonic The Hedgehog came out nearly 20 years ago and had a crap ton of issues during development, cut staffing, key figures leaving during production on what was at the time completely new hardware for the franchise that was attempting a soft reboot of the franchise the other only came out barely a over a year ago and performs worse than other lower grade games on the same hardware despite being the flagship product of the new generation of Pokémon
@@Rexred09 "Terrible Pokemon Designs". And please tell me that Meowscarada, Skeledirge, Ogerpon, Baxcalibur, Houndstone, and many, many more are terrible designs. You're only saying this shit because you're listening to other TH-camrs and not making opinions for yourself.
@@lordmolag45000 All of those are great designs( except Baxcalibur imo ). But the majourity of gen 9 designs are pretty lackluster. Alot of them have grown on me in the past month but I cant just ignore ones like Maschiff, Squakabilly, Wigglett, Quaxwell, Tinkatuff, Artibax, Pawmo etc
So what I’m hearing is, more detail = better everything. And that SW/SH should have known and used Arceus as a template even though it didn’t exist. GTF Outta with this. S/V should have expanded on the ideas of Arceus, not bastardized it.
Precisely the reason I’m much more excited for legends Z-A and I’m still playing Legends Arceus to this day whatever gamefreak and the Pokémon company was cooking when it came to SV was clearly underbaked and not finished and the fact they had the audacity to sell paid DLC on top of it was just insulting
this sound like cherry picking positives and your argument is also like this "if you ignore the game then its amazing", swsh are one of the worst pokemon games out there but at the very they were somehow more functional than sv
so basically, it's a good game that's badly made according to the video. Shame, since maybe if it had the time to be polished, it could probably be great.
I haven’t experienced any bugs in the gen 9 games and honestly I really don’t see how people are complaining like am I just lucky or are they like photoshopping random crap on images and editing videos to look like bugs in the games? I personally love S/V and I think it has the best story of any pokemon game I’ve played (I’ve only played like 5 pokemon games) Someone please explain what these bugs are like in the game or please tell me if it’s just people editing stuff.
Dude. Galar was visually stunning and livelier than ANYTHING in Paldea. NO CONTEST. I think that Pokemon should stick with what they used to make their FIRST SWITCH GAMES feel as polished as they are with future games. I don’t think open world can work unless they get MORE TIME. What fix what isn’t broken? Aside from that, I can remember more characters and bigger plot points in Sword than I did Scarlet. To say this definitively doesn’t sound like you tolerate other opinions
I agree so much! Legends Arceus and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet were so good! I don’t get why people are saying “oh, scarlet and violet were so bad omg omg lol.” God I hate when people, are acting like that and are underrating good pokemon games! This was a open world game! What else do you want? They added a new type, new Pokémon and even a new move in a dlc for scarlet and violet! Why are you underrating Pokémon games?! This annoys me so much.
Sometimes rinsing and repeating is the best thing to do. Yes change is constant but then you have to access the change. Honestly, Sword & Shield is better than Scarlet & Violet. Trying to make Pokémon lifelike is taking away from the anime. Take a look at the basic Pokémon, Picachu in Scarlet & Violet then compare it to what you see in the anime. It’s embarrassing. If you have been playing this game for years, you play it for nostalgia and to compete with unique strategies. God damn man, this game sucks. Yes the story is good but everything else sucks.
Yah i will take less detail to have better game play. Graphics are not that high on my list compared to good controls and good game olay that and the game being functional. This and swsh didnt have any of that.
IMO it's not even close. Sword and Shield were all around terrible boring bland games. Scarlet and Violet were actually fun and by far the best Pokemon games since at least the last 4 generations. Honestly, they're probably the best Pokemon games ever. I guess it's just me, but the low frame rate barely effected how much I enjoyed the game at all.
I am deathly afraid that the devs will view this game's criticism as a sign that their gameplay experimentation was a failure, rather than the fact that the game was simply buggy and ran like sh*te
Pokemon Scarlett and violet is blurry af anytime you move the camera its choppy it jist all around looks like dog shit and camt even play it without getting a headache and the fact people will defend this Garbage seriously blows my mind, i dont care what anyome says arceus and sword were the way better games.
It got a better story and characters but that is it next generation need to take the storytelling of scarlet and violet with more visual identity and be less linear In order to be more functional. Also more content.
Scarlet and Violet has a better gameplay loop, better story, better soundtrack, better map, and a better post-game than what Sword and Shield has to offer. You're just extremely disrespectful.
SwSh is better than gen 9. The music, rivals (especially Bede), the gym leaders and new Pokémons are some of the best. Galar is a fun region. Also Gigatmaxing aka Mega evolution but bigger is better than crystallization wearing crowns 😮💨
Honestly, due to how buggy and broken the game is, is so funny and bad that I love it more than Sword and Shield because of that alone. At least for Scarlet and Violet, it's funny and has some pokemon I like in it. For sword and shield, there's a couple pokemon I like and that's about it. Under polished and it's boring.
The models being detailed isn't really a point in favour of Scarlet and Violet, it's actually a contributor to their poor performance on the switch! But I agree on the whole with it being better than SWSH
I have both out of my top 5 pokemon games list anyway. Not even top 10 if we count spin-offs. They are both mediocre. The cities in SV are the worst of all time, they look like an alpha version.
Your the one who's wrong, the games get significantly worse as they keep coming out the story in this game is absolutely horrible and don't worry it won't be the worse for long when gen 10 comes out it will be the second worse and then gen 12, 13, 14, and so on it won't be the worse
No, YOU’RE wrong to think that you can have a wrong opinion. We should be able to enjoy whatever we want and we shouldn’t assume that things will only get worse
It's ok not to like the gen 10 story but it is strictly, factually more interesting than SwSh which can be boiled down to: Awoooo, dogs! Darkest day...Leon is the BEST! Rose is evil, what a twist! The only character with any real development is Hop, and Bede gets a slight amount. The plot of Arven's dog dying manages to be more interesting than anything in Gen 9.
Gameplay and story-wise yes, it's definitely better. However even though there's 0 post game in X/Y it still feels like the more complete* game. It's more polished all around and I think for it's time it looks better. The Pokedex is also pretty terrible and lackluster in S/V which X/Y does not have the same problem. It introduced like 30 less new mons in Kalos and the designs comparatively.. well it's not even close.

Sword and shield are better and I'll prove you wrong. Sword and shield are more replayible, looks better, better routes, better new pokemon, better animations take a look at what violet did to Pyro ball, better characters, better gyms, better music, better champion, better towns, better legandarys, the only thing violet has on Sword and shield is open world and pokemon textures

SWSH is boring but finished. Scarlet and Violet are interesting but insulting. I still am baffled they released a game that preformed this poorly and have changed essentially NOTHING and made really NO COMMENT on the state of the game's terrible performance. Thats an interesting point you bring up about the size of the map, might expand on that in a future video.

I agree with everything said here.
Very sad.
@@tanzolo4487love how people call it linear map when it’s based on the real life map of the UK y’all just hating natures landmasses irl and it shows 😂
Sword and shield are not a good memory, gen 9 would be alot better of the game wasn't released in such an unfinished state
Both games are bad. Arceus was the step in right direction.
Yes what we need is no random battles and less trainer battles, that will solve the problems.
@@CL-os5czthat's a flaw but overall still a better game.
@@eagle162Is not a flaw since Arceus takes place in the past and the wild battles can be pretty hard. Is more of a quality vs quantity thing.
@@eagle162what’s the flaw?
Arceus is the worst mainline game ever, completely devoid of everything pokemon...
Very good point I really can’t remember any of the town names like I do for the older games

As for all of Pokémon, I make my home in the tiny town of Wedgehurst.
Still blows my mind that people think sword/shield weren’t good. They were some of the best games we’ve gotten in the franchise.

To each is own, I can fully respect that since the games bugs are hella annoying.
For a challenge? @@pigeonbass11
This video aged poorly tbh
I tried to enjoy SV for the past months, but the very fact that the whole area is just empty, towns are meaningless as are npc's, exploration has little to no reward and items were places randomly without any thought put into it
The very starting town of SwSh has more soul than whole map of SV
The only reason why I miss sw/sh is the customization options, the characters, and the fact that you’re an actual trainer and not a student
idk what everyone thought
i had so much nostalgia playing through sword
I recently bought pokemon sword after playing through violet and having some competative battles, etc, and I loved the vibrant colors of pokemon sword, the music, the graphical style i thought was missing while playing violet, I know because while I had lots of fun playing Violet, it wasn't impressive for anyone else onlooking, this kind of felt odd, and not that it matters really - I did think that the finished product of sword and sheild really adds to the experience. but even sword and sheild got lots of criticizms. I guess gen 10 will be something incredible.

Still, it would have been better if the Pokémon games are made with 2D anime graphics. There is potential for plenty of content, smoother gameplay, and stable physics when using the said graphics.
Honestly would be very interesting if that's the case, would love to see 2d sprites come back again in some way.
@@Hero_of_Sinnoh Even the Pokémon images and items images look really good in SV. You can put a cel of them over a 3D background, and the results can be good. @@LuigiTheMetal64 Right 100%
I like the progression too 3D
For me it boils down to what is worse: a boring game or a broken game. Gen 8 may be technically superior however it is so bland and boring. Gen 9 has some of the worst glitches and bugs I’ve ever seen in a game but it’s core gameplay is fun and I’ve had fun the entire way through, so gen 9 all the way
boring = lack of imagination
The only real thing bothering me is that lack of a battle tower
Someone should do a versus series comparing generations on the same console (4 vs. 5, 6 vs 7, and 8 vs 9)
Good idea actually, might delve into it.
@@Hero_of_Sinnoh that'd be great! Thanks man
Gen 7 is essentially Gen 6 Deluxe edition. There were tradeoffs, but Alola games were mostly an expanded version in my eyes.
I cannot compare both much more than that
Can't decide between 6 and 7. Both had they're flaws but also brought unique mechanics. Gen 6 ( megas, 3d models,..) Gen 7 ( regional variants, ultra beasts)
scarlet and violet was the first game I finished since the 3ds era(PLA also was fun but I'm counting that as a spin off)
It felt like the pokemon were actually alive and real with the textures.
If these games were actually finished before they released with way more content, then yes, they would way better than Sw&Sh
Sorry rant over. Done venting. Have a good day.
Tbh This is the first time i've heard people say swsh is better
So right now would it be worth buying scarlet or sword? Just got a switch about 2 weeks ago and i already beat legends arceus main story, the "post game" is kinda boring just catching pokemon to complete the dex. slighty disappointed with arceus but have loved the gb gba ds and 3ds pokemon games.
Is it worth buying both sword and scarlet or would one be better to get sonner than later like for events or support from nintendo.
Also not super excited about buying dlcs.
Then I would recommend S/V. It is still good without DLC (with not much stuff locked away).
Wrong? How could I be wrong about a product I won't buy because it's garbage?
It's not garbage to alot of people but in my opinion I love all the main games of pokemon I don't hate on any of them I just wish I got one of my favorite snivy line back

Yet you played it for 200h 😆
@@LuckyBenjamin_ look, I can talk from experience. The story is great. It had everything to be a great game, but I can't tell you how many times my game crashed.

The company, either the pokemon company, Nintendo or game freak, is treating pokemon as a cash cow and BD/SP and SV are the results :s
I have a though time thinking of SWSH as the predecessor when PLA exists. If PLA didn't exist, SV would not be as bashed as it is even with the performance issues.
@@Valathia Right very true, Its honestly incredible how polar opposite the release of PLA is to S/V. Hopefully they patch it up soon.

Someone please explain what these bugs are like in the game or please tell me if it’s just people editing stuff.
Sword and shield is better in every way.
Gen 5 best gen Cope.
As a BBND it's a trash vs garbage thing
I am deathly afraid that the devs will view this game's criticism as a sign that their gameplay experimentation was a failure, rather than the fact that the game was simply buggy and ran like sh*te

Better than X and Y? In my opinion no just because they added more stuff and QoL changes doesn’t inherently make the game better
