One of my Yorkies just passed away in June of 2021 she was 16yrs old and never got sick once. I love Yorkies ❤️❤️❤️.

Awwww I totally understand.. my baby was 22 yo! The vets always were in awe of my Murphy. He never got sick either. I miss him. He passed away in 2019 💜💜💜

Oh my G-D. Henry has now been with us almost a year. As he gained his confidence, he started "protecting" his home more and more by barking.
I love that he’s protecting you! I bet you he feels really good about it as well :-)
I used to have a Shorkie and 2 poodles . Now just a month ago got a 8 month old Yorkie puppy from local shelter . Love him , he definitely keeps me on my toes . I am all about organic health and wellness too!

I am 70 and I go to the beach with my dog alot. I keep her in a town and country cut or sometimes called
a lion cut with a top knot. Makes like so much easier.

Just lost my 10 year old yorkie. I trained her to go in a litter box like a cat. Worked perfectly. She was a “love muffin” any and every person or animal she’d meet, she would want to say hello. I miss her terribly.
She sounds wonderful. I am so sorry for your loss, I know there’s nothing harder than losing your baby, and 10 years old is very young.

Did you train in the litter box like cat training?
@@Texg1rl_ yes. Took the wee wee pad, put it in the box, put litter around it. Gradually added more litter, pulled the pad and voilà.
@@Texg1rl_ also, I used a boot tray as a litter box. Easier for her to get in and out.
Hi Megan. I have seen several of your videos and they are so informative. I've had all kinds of dogs over the years and the Yorkies are the very most special. We always get rescues and I actually got a 4 month old Chorkie puppy who's Mamma was turned in when she was pregnant. His name is Mork and he is so awesome. I had recently lost my Chihuahua's who I rescued as young puppies 15 years earlier and when I saw the Chihuahua Yorkie mix and fell in love with him. Several months later I got a rescue Yorkie who was a puppy mill breeder who had lived her whole life in a cage. After the breeder got shut down by the Department of Agriculture the Humane Society took her in and she had heartworm among many other medical problems and she had to live at the vet for 4 months before she was healthy enough for me to adopt her. My boyfriend and I never knew a how much you could actually fall in love with these little ones. We named her Mindy. She had to learn how to be a dog. Mork taught her everything he knew how to do and how to have fun and be loved. Our bigger dogs Buddy and Sugar loved her too. She was petrified of humans at first and everything in the world including grass which she had never seen before we took her home. Slowly she learned to trust us and she became the most loving little girl you could ever imagine. Then she got hypoparathyroidism and started having seizures. We got that under control and with our 24/7 care she thrived. She was the happiest little girl and she slept at night with her tiny face right beside mine on my pillow. She and Mork were inseparable. We have a travel trailer and travel all over the country with our 4 dogs. They just love camping and Mindy loved to explore new places and go on adventures. She was so happy. We took her to vets all over the country since she would often get sick whether we were at home or traveling. We had her for 2 and 1/2 years and while we were on our 3 month trip out west to Utah and Idaho visiting the national parks she died. The vet we took her to in Idaho Falls spent 3 full hours with her and us but he could not save her. We think the calcitriol meds for her hypoparathyroidism had begun to calcify some of her internal organs. Without the meds she would die and with them she did anyway. She was only 6 and1/2 years old and she had only had 2 and1/2 good and happy years. We were absolutely devastated. Mork refused to eat. He would sit in my lap and cry all day and night. I was never so lost in my whole life. Mindy required 24/7 care. Medications, eye drops, eye meds, cleaning out her dry eyes several times a day, feeding her by hand most of the time once piece at a time and I just didn't know what to do with myself with no Mindy to care for. We had to do something for Mork because he refused to eat and all he did was sit in my lap and whine. So I got on line and checked the the rescue organizations and after 2 weeks we found a 5 year old female Yorkie breeder who had just been turned into a rescue organization because the breeder no longer wanted her. She was not in poor health. Actually she is very healthy but has lost all but her 4 canine teeth. We got her in Missouri on our way home from out trip out west. Mork started eating the very first day we got her in August of 2021. She was not afraid of humans but at first she was not very cuddly. Again little Mork taught her how to be a happy dog. She learned how to make squeaky toys squeak and she was so absolutely proud of herself. Now she knows how to fetch. We call her Mindy Lou and she is just as sweet and loving now as our precious little Mindy was. Every once in a while she will sleep at night with her little face on my pillow right next to time like my Mindy used to do. Mork loves his new little Mindy and they sleep together in the same doggie bed if I am busy doing something. They kiss each other and touch each others faces with their front paws several times a day. They love to watch movies in bed with us in our camper and Mindy Lou is now a great little traveler. I think there is nothing better in this world than the love of a Yorkie or a Yorkie mix. Mork is 4 and 1/2 now and it's been years since he has gone potty in the house. Mindy often had accidents but Mindy Lou rarely does. She has learned how to bark when she needs to go out now. Mork of course taught her that. Mork and Mindy Lou both follow me everywhere and always want to cuddle and get and give kisses. Mork seemed to be the boss of Mindy but Mindy Lou will get aggressive with him if he tries to take either of her favorite toys her piggy that grunts or her lambie. Mork is a gentleman with her and lets her get a few bites of food before he digs in and hogs the food bowl. I do think the only thing better than have a Yorkie is to have more than one of them. As for me there are no negatives in having a Yorkie or a Yorkie mix. They are the best. There are so many senior rescued Yorkies out there that need homes and can't find them. They are such loving dogs and rescues make the most special of all pets. I think they potty train easier too because their bladders are not as tiny as when you get a small puppy. I hope you do get your Airstream travel trailer so you can take all your Yorkies on vacations with you. We've been taking our dogs in ours for years. Our oldest dogs have been everywhere and they love Camping. Mork has been from Florida to Maine and from South Carolina to Utah and Idaho. Mindy Lou has only been from Missouri to Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia so far but she's loved it so far.

I LOVE your Yorkie videos! I have fibromyalgia so can’t always play, so I have 2 always! Such brave tiny warriors and lovers! They’ll die for you if they know you (mom or dad) are in danger! Most loyal breed, and with my disease, they are portable! Lift and set down. Sometimes I pick one up and set him on top of his brother, just to watch them scrap for 1-2 minutes, then curl up together on “their couch” and take a nap! Brothers always fight but love each other! Your videos rock! You

Thanks for your videos, I've been looking at breeds and the Yorkie seems to be where I'm landing! I completely agree re # of dogs... once we had 3 and then made up the rule, never again, never have more dogs than arms.

My Yorkie literally loves everyone! She even loves cats! She plays with my sitters and brothers cat 24/7. I can agree that she was harder to potty train but she eventually learned because she is literally so smart. She also never barks and never growls at anyone or any other animal.
She sounds like such a love.
I now have four. Oldest is 6lb 6yrs. Biggest is 1yr 11lbs. Smallest is 2lbs 7 months. Last is 4lbs1yr. It’s a big job but I love all four.

“Alfy peeing in the background.” Yes, I would purchase a yorkie comb from you. As for the espana silk shampoo, they are come concentrate so you have to dilute it.
I don’t dilute the Espana silk shampoo at all, I just use it straight out of the container. It works fantastic.
If you love your Yorkie, there are not cons only pros! My yorkies were very easy to train. We have also trained them to have an inside voice!
True for some, but important for those that would think they are cons. I want to discourage those that will not be happy with their yorkies and would later give them up.

I will be getting a Yorkshire terrier, but the only thing I am worried about is about pampering them too much. Could you please make a video on Yorkie aggression or how to know if you are pampering your Yorkie too much? also another thing that I would like to know is if it is ok for my Yorkie to sleep in a crate next to my bed? I can't find a safe harness that is small enough for my 3 lb babies smoky and Bandit. Bandit is a micro yorkie with short lil legs and gets out of everything.

Yes… i got my Yorkies and he passed away in i12 days about 3 months ago!! The breeder was there every step with me and offered to give me another Yorkie 🥰🙏🏾. I didn’t know i would be that attached so facts! I’m also glade i had Trupanion pet insurance as well🙏🏾
I am so sorry to hear that that happened. That’s absolutely heartbreaking and such a tragic experience. It’s really nice that the breeder was so helpful and kind, and also I’m very glad that you’ve got pet insurance. Puppies, just like humans can have health problems and it’s just so hard when that happens. I know it also makes a good breeder very sad as well.

My sweetheart Yorkie Heidi 🥰 will be 13yrs old next month and she's extremely quiet ☺️ To me that's normal for the breed because Heidi is my first dog ever, but I know not to expect that in my future Yorkies lol.
It's worked out great because she goes with me virtually everywhere...Walmart, WinCo, Costco, banks, gas stations, breweries, pizza places, etc and I feel like I get away with it because she's so quiet, sweet, and loves people. She's such a little socialite, so even if she shouldn't be somewhere people are just like aww... haha!
She has winter gear accessories haha...sweatshirts, coats, jump suits, and snow boots ha. I live in Montana and as freezing as it can get here, it like burns their little paws 😳
My first Yorkshire terrier when I was a little girl was named Heidi. I love that name.
It’s not super unusual for Yorkshire terriers to be quiet. I think it really depends on the dog, and how many you have. Because I have three they really act as a little pack, and when one barks they all start barking.
When I just had Teddy he was very quiet and he barely ever barked :-)
We have a yorkie puppy that is 3 months. She never stops. I can’t even hold her due to her activity.

She is a puppy. I suggest you hire a dog trainer. It sounds like you have not had a puppy before, and expected an adult dog.

. I got my Yorkiepoo and I love her and will put up with her little tricks. I’ve had her for almost 3 wks and she is basically pee pad trained. I think a female is easier to train.. my biggest issue is her chewing. She has ruined a couple scatter rugs and now she’s trying to chew my couch. Because I’m home and crate her if I leave I am trying to stay on top,of it. She likes to attack my two cats and she does bark. I enjoy your posts.

Thank you for not using background noice/music. Nowadays seems to be that 99.9% of recordings do have extreme loud/louder than the sound voice of the speaker, which is very annoying and hurt my hears and my brain because I'm trying to capture/listen to the speaker/get the every word and can't because the background/music noice it's louder than the voice of the speaker. I Have Given Up listening/watching videos of some people because of that. Too painful to me.
Background noice it's ok just as long as is 1/3 sound, lower than the volume of the voice of the speaker, and if it's music not everyone will like the music played.
I LOVE that this video don't have background noice/music.

45!? You must be joking! Maybe 28-30 Maybe. I too got my first York'ie when I was 30. She was 17 when she passed. Katie was 10 when she passed. I was with both of them when they left. I wanted them to hear my voice telling them how wonderful they were and how grateful that they were in.my.life. The issue with large dogs is so very real and very scary. My sister's female Yorkie was sunning herself by their alley when a lab was running past but returned picked her up by her shoulders and shook her then dropped her. After spending thousands of dollars at the vet Cookie passed away. I always put a harness, not a collar, on my girls so I can pick them up by the leash. It doesn't sound dog friendly but she's better off in my arms than on the ground. It's been a year since you aired this video so you probably have your Air stream and enjoying the glamping life. Hugs and kisses to you and your babies!
Thank you so much for such a nice comment:). I’m 46 now! Time passes so quickly. I agree about the Harness, it makes it so much easier to get them off the ground quickly for safety. I have done it so many times. We would up getting an ATC trailer and we love it so much!
I won’t be getting my yorkie till next spring. I am on a waiting list from a very good local breeder. I would love a good comb.

I don’t think I would ever try to get two puppies at the same time so I don’t really have any tips because I’ve never done it. I feel like it’s definitely a lot of work but it’s possible if you don’t have to work and you can just stay home with your puppies. Basically it’s just twice as much work, and one puppy is a lot a lot of work. But it can be done, it’s just not something I would try to take on because even one puppy can get a little bit frustrating sometimes :-) I’m sure you will do great with it as long as you’ve got the time to manage all of the training etc.
Hello Megan, I love my Yorkie💕 She is a quiet girl and very good. I think boys seem to be harder to house break. I have a male Shih Tzu and he has accidents.
They are so difficult to housebreak!

I feel like when people ask how much did you pay for a puppy, it’s not to be nosy or check your pockets. I feel like they ask to know what’s a good price to pay and not overpay and get scammed, if that makes sense. But to each is own. Your Yorkies are beautiful. I’m getting one next week
Sure, that could be true… But the great thing about me having my own channel is that I only need to share the information that I feel comfortable with, and I don’t think that there’s any need for me to share what I paid for my Yorkies. Someone can easily research on the Internet and find out that information if they feel that it is necessary for them.
@@MeganGraham mabe you could give a good price range and not the exact amount you paid. Everybody has their boundaries people have to respect. I really love your videos I’m watching a lot of them . The points you make about being careful with your yorkie was really good nobody else I’ve heard yet has talked about that . Your yorkie’s are so cute 🥰
@@nikicarrie4071 There are many variables, but I’m not here to talk about price. You really never hear me talk about price with anything so it’s not going to happen. I’m glad that my videos are helpful, but it’s really up to people to research price. It’s different across the country and what I pay for things that I do, is private. I do this to be helpful, but that doesn’t mean that I’m going to let down the boundaries of my life.

Our first yorkie is Zoe she is 2.6 lbs and 10 yrs old. She has always thinks she's a little human. Thor is 6 yrs old and is small with a copy body. He's very sweet but can be a stinker. Our last baby is 5.6 lbs and long with long legs. Coco Chanel is 9 1/2 mo old and does seem to scratch way more than the other 2. And her personality is different than the other 2. Hi Megan, I enjoy watching your videos, and seeing your Yorkie’s. I am also a hairstylist/salon owner in California with three cute Yorkie’s too. Everything you say about Yorkie’s is absolutely true! And yes, my male Yorkie almost got eaten at the beach by a German shepherd off leash, very traumatic experience. My question is, do you recommend anti-bark collars?
That is so scary, I am so sorry. I don't know that they even make an anti bark collar small enough for a tiny yorkie.
We're getting what will be a 12-week-old Yorkie, in 3 weeks. We're naming him Jackson, and he'll be a companion for our 15-month-old Maltese, Oscar. Maltese hair, just like Yorkie hair, will grow to the floor and beyond, and would require more time than is available to keep up with. So, we keep Oscar in a puppy-cut, and if you miss a day or two of combing, you don't run into any knots to speak of; perhaps a small tangle or two at most. We're going to take the same approach with Jackson, keep it short and simple.
As far as poddy-training and barking goes, Maltese are right there with Yorkies. Oscar is probably about 60 to 70% house broken after being with us for a year (have had plenty of dogs, never had one so difficult to housebreak as Oscar) and he'll bark at the sound of a leaf falling from a tree. So, we are pretty well prepared for a Yorkie joining the family. I'm loving your videos. Keep up the good work.
I do the same with the haircuts, so much more manageable for me than long hair. I love the 60-70 percent housebroken. That is how Alfie is! Merry Christmas!
Had only one year old female now got puppy male. So hard to train the puppy. Was easy with the first one. Male runs out the door or gate any chance he gets. Lifts his leg wherever. Walks are a nightmare specially together.

do your Yorkies steal and hide your socks? I babysit my friend's Yorkie when she has to run errands. the Yorkie Loubi keeps stealing my socks and hiding them. Also, she won't stop licking my face. Is this normal?

Just got a Yorkie, I had one before and she wasn’t hard to potty train ,but this one is peeing all over the house. She doesn’t bark jut waiting. She is 3 months old.
Oh no. That certainly makes for quite a lot of work. I have a house training video up that may be helpful.
I have 2 Yorkies! 3 year old Delilah 10 pounds and 10 week old Juliet! 2 pounds! My 3 year old is trained to a pee pad, but prefers to go out with her 2 Golden Retriever sisters! Yes they BARK!!!!! Every shadow and every noise!

From time to time I let my Yorkie grow out but usually she is in a puppy or teddy cut, She spends a lot of time outside with me while I do my gardening, She loves getting in the weeds looking for mice which she does catch and kill.
That is what they were bred to do:)
Mine is 10 months boy. Still not potty trained, Even if we take him out every 30 minutes, he pees inside.
And barking, oh yes, nobody can walk past our house with out getting barked at.
But he always wags his tail, a little sceptic to people until he sees i tell him its ok. He also loves all other dogs, both male and female, big and small.
I got insurance from the Day i picked him up, 12 weeks old. When insured before 4 moths, it included free removing of the babyteeth if they dont loose all.
He hates going for walks, but love beeing outside in the yard playing with ball, sopp bubbles, sticks and insects. And when it rains, i have to carry him out and tell him to pee, and that He is not allowed inside before he did🤣 we got a cooling mat for hotter days, and let him stay in the shadow with fresh water .
They are very close to their owners, and very affectionate.
Takes about an hour a Day to groom, bath, clip nails etc.
He HATES to cut nails, its like He thinks we are going to cut of his feet if we touch them😎 Remember cold blow dryer, they easily get burned.
And take it easy on the chicken if your yorkie have runny eyes.
Same thing happens with chicken with Lola
I heard you say that Lola has no teeth. My Yorkie has had three appointments where he had to have some teeth pulled, and this last time they took the rest out.
I know Yorkies are prone to these problems, but I felt so bad for him! He adjusted very well -much better than I did! 😊 Your videos are helpful so thank you for putting in the time and effort to make them. 🌸

My Yorkie will not be still for me to groom her! She is now 6 but has a mind of her own! She is like a cat. Have any ideas how to get her to be better behave?

@@MeganGraham I am sorry, I think those videos have been taken down. There were 4 Yorkies and they traveled the whole summer in the airstream camper. Mom posted great ideas she incorporated for her babies. Sadly 2 have passed away. Millie laRue was the star and she was one that passed. Millie even went to Paris with Mom for an extended stay. Great fun following them. There might be something left on fb. She still posts on Instagram and has a new little Yorkie named Lovie. I think under Millie LaRue’s name still

My Yorkie was extremely extremely difficult to potty train. I've met a woman who told me the same about her Yorkie. She told me that it was so difficult that her husband wanted to get rid of the dog.
How old was your Yorkie when it was adopted? And do you know how old hers was?
