I owned my srt-4 from the day it was new in 3/03. Ive run that car over 500 times down and drag strip at 450Whp. Never have I broken an axle, input shaft, or shift selector. All these passes are on 24.5/8.5/15 slicks. The car runs constant 11.1-11.5 @ 125-130mph. Get yourself a WOT box and don’t drive through wheel hop and the car won’t break. Also the motor is completely 100% stock down to the camshafts and head bolts.

COOP, another thing! Trust me! If I wrote down the top 10 things I look for in a car, the neon would maybe have 3 of them! I have no clue what it is, but the neon has that funk!! It's so pissed, and rowdy!! They make so much freaking torque!! Its a blast!! You should look to the community for support on this build! and I know some of the guys will probably really show you some love! I have been around a couple years and would love to point you to the right people, and get you in all the right Facebook groups so you can gain thier support and views! I used to hop these up for customers back in 2006-2010, as I did a lot of DSMs and older Mitsubishis, (such as Starions/Conquests, Sigmas, Colts,) at a shop in east Texas. A nicely done 375hp SRT4 is such a fun car on the street. They just needed a real clutch and flywheel, a Walbro, intercooler hard pipes, an RFL BOV, 3" exhaust, Forced Performance turbo upgrade, and an Apexi SAFC-II or MegaSquirt, or if you've got deep pockets, an AEM stand alone. (And of course a trunk full of axles.) I'm glad you kept the SRT4, even though a built Honda or Toyota has far more potential and aftermarket support.
This content is already so great and I'm now watching every video you put out, because it's different! I tried to watch your content continuously when you first came out on your own but got bored, this is new! Name one other content creator as big as you making SRT4 content like this? It's also Turbo-4 FWD and just different. Wait till you put big slicks on the front and learn how to spin as part of going fast. KEEP IT UP!!!

I traded a C5 for a fully BST built 600ish whp 05 SRT4 after I got my dream C6 with thoughts that my Vette, Cobra and WS6 pages would crack on it, but everyone loves it! Many car guys have fond memories in these things.

Before you put the exhaust back on, you should get yourself a 3" O2 housing while the OEM one is off. Especially if you plan on doing a bolt on build/bws turbo build. I built my neons motor, big turbo, e85. I know myself and another buddy of mine van give some experienced input on what route to go for what you want.
I'm not going to lie, for a bit I stopped watching this channel, but this SRT4 content is awesome .. looking forward to more! And I'm a Honda guy lol never liked these cars but I like the route your going and it's refreshing to see something different and not another LS build

Hey! I'm a fellow SRT-4 owner! I've had a few different turbo setups, including that turbobay turbo he mentioned. That turbo isn't big enough for a guy like you, trust me! BWS (big wheel stock) turbos might get you barely ~ 400/400, but you can get the same on pump, with less boost, and max out the stock block completely using a G25-660. That being said, after stock, BWS 2.0, 50T, and now GTX3071R; a G25-660, or G30-660 will be my next move, along with a built block, head, twin disk, and billet input shaft with straight cut 1+2, and all the fixing. Have Alex make you the manifold! He's got a pretty good channel, and he is extremely talented! I bet if you shout him out, he would hook you the hell up!!

No, he needs to get up with jerrad Dail , Chris mimikos , Johny boost , Bradley Dillon, Anthony Bradley, Nigel Alexander… Guys who have the knowledge and experience with these srt4s .. No offense to jamie but he gave up on the neon .. made it slower by going auto… now it just sits .. all he had to do was put a liberty dog box in the car .. but nothing wrong with being different… but sometimes it’s better to listen to people who have been 9s or 8s in this platform multiple times
@@reliant_turbo Not everyone has access to a mill or even knos how to use one, and I kno for a fact that at one point PFI sold upgraded Main Caps but I'm not sure if they still do. The factory mains are a known weak link.

The benefit for going with a 50 trim over a bws is no more cracking manifolds. Throw a 50 trim and a log manifold on it. Could even get a hold of Mathew Haynes with turbo bay he's got some really good turbos for this car other than the bws also

You can do 400 wheel on a walbro 255 in the stock canister with a return line and 1000 ish CC injectors on E85. 400 is pushing it for a stock turbo though. Thats the sweet spot. Boost by gear and R compound tires and you are good to go. Axels aren't your friend, but orieleys does lifetime warranty them if you have a set of spares to swap in.
For the price. An srt4 dollar for power cant be beat. Except the transmission s are made of glass. Shoutout Nigel of brutal speed and tuning. Hes the einstein of srt4s. Its a neon when you beat it. Its an srt4 when it beats you. Love them have had 5
Don’t forget the cooling system on these… 180 thermostat helps a ton. These run hot otherwise. Hopefully you don’t have to worry about 3rd gear grind, but if it has it, it’s usually the synchros or clutch fork. Wikydperformance has the upgrade for the fork. Otherwise modern performance or maperformance carry just about anything else you’ll need
Just a curious question. Cause Idk much about the srt neon. But why wouldn't you go with a better flow header. Over a cast manifold. I did a search and see headers pretty cheap. Given they are cheap made prob. But still wouldn't it still be better than a heavy cast manifold

I had an 04 srt4 neon I love the car, it got a lot of love hate.... I was at about 400hp give or take, upgraded turbo, intake, injectors, exhaust, tune etc etc... I don't remember everything done, but it was all bolt on and tune, never got inside the motor besides the timing belt. Again I loved the car man I want another so bad
just wait until you destroy axles galore, and find zero replacements, destroy clutches, and input shafts, you got a lot of learning coming your way ! i did the SRT4 thing from 2003 to 2014, you're waay behind the curve already

Well I’ve had many neon srt4 I had a stock block neon with bigger fmic, catless Down pipe,1100cc injector’s, walboro 450 fuel pump with a return line, aem afr gauge, and a turbobay big wheel stock turbo, making a little over 400hp on pump 93
Current bws HP record is low 400's on race gas never seen on break 400whp on pump gas with one mine made 368whp on 22psi with turbo toys/100oct mode, AGP actuator,Mpx bfmi and DCR piping, Mpx 60mm TB and spacer, AGP big fuel kit with regulator and return line to a spool boy mod, Wot box, crane #14 cams with a DCR bws on a SDK manifold with external gate and elbow mods, Mpx 3in O2 housing and catless downpipe to a sidepipe, on a mix of 93/100oct made 381whp on full 100oct and 23/24psi maxing the turbo out it takes quite a bit to get a bws over 400whp. I ended up going with a AGP zeta 3.3 kit after that setup with a 54/54 turbo and made 473whp on the same 24psi and ms109 race fuel and 508whp on 26psi and e85 fuel after swapping to HP tuner's

Cooper come to south ga and you can drive both of my cars. One with a bws and one fully built with little over 500hp. You can get an idea which way you want to roll with.
So sad modern performance can't make crank shaft till 8 16 22 had my neon at pfi for a year had to pick it up because we could not get it hate the fact that parts are not around so sad could not fix my car
It's sad I have everything to build my car. the only thing stoping me is crank shaft have top end stage 3 bottom end eagle rods cp pistons crank shaft is what holding me hostage
I had the first turbo neon. A 1986 Dodge Lancer with the Turbo 2.2. It was an automagic with a 3000 stall converter from the factory. Would beat stock mustang gt's from stop light to stop light.

I say do the fuel system with larger injectors and a tune to max out that baby turbo. Drive it in good shape for a while and then decide if you want to go further.

You can make 450whp on stock engine with no issues. Great cars and great daily drivers. Low to mid 11 second cars with 400+whp

Crank straps are just a mill, some tool steel stock and some longer ARP studs away....

Well I’ve had many neon srt4 I had a stock block neon with bigger fmic, catless Down pipe,1100cc injector’s, walboro 450 fuel pump with a return line, aem afr gauge, and a turbobay big wheel stock turbo, making a little over 400hp on pump 93
Current bws HP record is low 400's on race gas never seen on break 400whp on pump gas with one mine made 368whp on 22psi with turbo toys/100oct mode, AGP actuator,Mpx bfmi and DCR piping, Mpx 60mm TB and spacer, AGP big fuel kit with regulator and return line to a spool boy mod, Wot box, crane #14 cams with a DCR bws on a SDK manifold with external gate and elbow mods, Mpx 3in O2 housing and catless downpipe to a sidepipe, on a mix of 93/100oct made 381whp on full 100oct and 23/24psi maxing the turbo out it takes quite a bit to get a bws over 400whp. I ended up going with a AGP zeta 3.3 kit after that setup with a 54/54 turbo and made 473whp on the same 24psi and ms109 race fuel and 508whp on 26psi and e85 fuel after swapping to HP tuner's
@@DigBick91 yup I know all this info the guy that I use for tuning is one of the best around and I’ve owned and built many different setups last one I had i fully built had the borg Werner S251 on it with liberty gears and everything else right this very moment I am building a darton sleeved caliber srt4

Cooper come to south ga and you can drive both of my cars. One with a bws and one fully built with little over 500hp. You can get an idea which way you want to roll with.
So sad modern performance can't make crank shaft till 8 16 22 had my neon at pfi for a year had to pick it up because we could not get it hate the fact that parts are not around so sad could not fix my car
It's sad I have everything to build my car. the only thing stoping me is crank shaft have top end stage 3 bottom end eagle rods cp pistons crank shaft is what holding me hostage

I had the first turbo neon. A 1986 Dodge Lancer with the Turbo 2.2. It was an automagic with a 3000 stall converter from the factory. Would beat stock mustang gt's from stop light to stop light.

I would just fix and flip. It's going to take a lot of money to make that car fast and return on investment isn't there on aftermarket parts.

I say do the fuel system with larger injectors and a tune to max out that baby turbo. Drive it in good shape for a while and then decide if you want to go further.
