Just bought two of these today and installed it on my Glock 45 and 26. It's the very first time I've ever installed a different trigger than a standard OEM on a handgun. When I racked the slide on the 26 and pulled the trigger, I couldn't describe the feeling. It was a night and day difference. Same with the Glock 45. I just got the 45 last week and the standard trigger it came with was very shitty and worse than any of my other Glocks. But this fixes it. Can't wait for the next time I hit the range. I got a feeling my groupings are gonna be way tighter. And if what you say is true, no worries because I carry a revolver anyways. I wish they would've made it for the 40 and 10mm too.
I really enjoy my performance triggers and wish they came in all the guns. Hopefully the Gen 6 will include them but I'm doubtful because of there application. I have them for all of my Glocks by the way on standby
Well to be honest, there is definitely a difference in the trigger weight and feel when comparing the two. Remember it's about disturbing the front sight or dot less. The GPT does this and the follow up shots should be faster. In my experience... Respectfully
I just bought the V2 Glock performance trigger as a gift for my son's 22nd birthday to be installed in a G45 MOS (I also have a V1 in one of my Glock 19 MOS). A few hours after the installation, we were doing some dry fire practice and his trigger failed to fire. This condition worsened to the point that it became almost impossible to field strip the weapon. Both my weapon and my sons are Gen 5 guns. We removed he performance riggers from both guns. I've never had any other Glock fail to fire with the factory trigger.
@@Gypsyman40 No problem... We will be taking the new trigger apart this evening to see if we can determine the cause of the malfunction. I will post an update if we find something obvious. If the meantime, we did what you did and went back to the original triggers that came in the guns.
UPDATE... We disassembled and reassembled the Performance trigger that was experiencing issues. Nothing was obvious, the trigger came apart and went back together fine (using the PIN trick) but still experienced a persistent fail to fire. My opinion is that these triggers absolutely cannot be used for self defense. I have removed them from everything I own and I am selling the functional ones.
People have been saying that the Timney trigger is not drop safe for the same reason. I.e., the sear can drop when the trigger is not pulled since it's not attached to the cruciform and thus not held up by the shelf. The firing pin safety should prevent a discharge, but I agree that it doesn't seem as safe as the original design.
Out of not paying attention of where i was laying my g19 with the gpt installed months ago it fell from the table and hit the concrete hard and didn't go off, truth to tell I wasn't even thinking about that as much as I was worried that my Holosun eps was broken but it seems that it was good to go too!
What you are saying is theoretically possible, but so is your breaks going out in your car. How often do you have them serviced? Also countless other pistols use the pre cocked position with success. Don’t even get me started on airplanes 😂 we get on those bitches without even questioning
The best GPT I've seen is the one sold by ghost inc with unit 3.0 connector! Being a 45 acp guy I knew I couldn't use the GPT but I was able to take that connector and build the best trigger setup I've ever had in a Glock style pistol!
@@Gypsyman40 The Unit 3.0 by ghost is the best connector on the market if you want little to no take up in your trigger pull similar to a 1911! AGAIN, the partially cocked striker with a traditional Glock trigger CAN ignite a primer. It's not an additional safety feature. In both triggers, the firing pin safety is the last line of defense against the gun firing should there be some kind of major failure with the trigger mechanism in the lower receiver. Carry whatever you want, but any argument should have a factual basis.
Factual...If glock says that the GPT can be used for EDC so be it. Fact is that they haven't. I've done it without an issue but honestly didn't like the feeling of have a new system in my gun first generation. That's my only issue.
I'm on that same exact tip bro. look up the 25 cent Glock trigger upgrade. I did it to my 26 and it is worlds smoother than my 43x. They felt similar before I did it and now it feels like a half a pound lighter but way more butter start to finish.
The striker is also cocked enough with a traditional glock trigger to ignite a primer. This partially cocked striker being an additional safety measure is a forum myth that has been debunked multiple times.
@@opmike343 I'm very aware and without going into the legal matters of modifications on an EDC gun I will feel more comfortable when glock either installs the trigger in the Gen 6, which is unlikely or say in writing that this unit can be used in an EDC application. Is that a tymney alpha trigger or performance glock trigger because theres an absolute difference the glock performance trigger pulls around 4.5lbs vs the tymney alpha trigger which pulls at 2lbs in some glocks but usually in that 2.5-3lb range also the tymney alpha trigger which im sure is what your recording is made for competition use and not for edc so i as well would be scared shit less if i carried that i own the gen 5 26 as well as glock 45 and run the apex tactical trigger in both zero malfunctions and both pull at 3.5lbs perfect for edc and not worried about cheddar bobbing. ‼️‼️

I believe you may be local to me...we can always put this theory to the test and a range near us. Peace...

I have the Overwatch TAC trigger (Polished Trigger Bar), 3lbs Ghost Edge Connector, and polished my OEM Glock Plunger on Gen5 Glock19 MOS. I 100% trust this setup on my Glock. 🤘
For my work guns a Glock 17 and 19 I use OEM. All of my other Glocks I use GPT with the exception of my 34. I don’t think there is an issue with the GPT.
@Gypsyman40 same would be said about the gpt tho. It would have to defeat the exact same safety, the striker block. That system doesn't change any between the two designs
@dylanholbrook6239 correct... It really comes down to a gun being modified to fire easier and if you want that in a self defense scenerio. The oem trigger is much more forgiving than the first Gen GPT. The new GPT's have a heavier pull weight as well as a more defined wall. The Glock safeties are battle tested and effective. The only safety that now comes into question is ones trigger finger safety (meaning you).
I gotta disagree with point shooting out to that distance. I don’t believe in point shooting almost at all anyways, but especially out past 3 yards or so. I think it’s an excuse to not train at real speed. You can’t rely on point shooting to not accidentally go beyond your target and hit an innocent person or just miss completely. 3 yards or in, yes you are close enough to maybe point shoot but you can still train to be fast enough to see your sights even at maximum speed. I’ve done the Modern Samurai 3x2 drill in 1.36 seconds and seen my dot for all 5 shots to account for all of my shots (it’s documented on my channel * self defense drills video*). Not hating just have to disagree with the point shoot out to certain distances and encourage faster real world training
Before I answer this I want to thank you for engaging. I'm not aware of your background and real life experience so please excuse any assumptions if any that I make. The variable that is missing from your training is a real life treat trying to harm you. One can be the best shooter in the world but in a real life situation your skill level will surely diminish greatly. Some say it will diminish to your level of training and I've read great quotes that support this notion. Your motor skill will diminish and you vision will tunnel with that adrenalin dump. I see alot of great shooters online training others to be more proficient, but most don't talk about what happens when shyt really hits the fan. So you shoot quickly under the buzzer and I'm sure that make you look and feel like a well prepared self defending shooter. What if you did that same training with someone trying to shoot you? I would argue that you won't have time to set yourself up to shoot 1.3 odd seconds using the sights. I use this example to demonstrate that it BS respectfully to think that you will pull this off under real circumstances. Additionally, if you and I where shooting on the move shooting at a 3-7 yard target I'll bet your shooting with you dot/sights will not beat my sight/predictive shooting. Times would definitely increase and accuracy will suffer, but this would be a more realistic approach for this exercise. And keep in mind I'm aware that you are a talented shooter in comparison to most. Yes, we must be accountable for every round but I believe this is why you must decide if using your gun in a crowded area would be your best option. Sometimes it's best to retreat when all possible to cover or away from the situation. Especially if you know your not that good and a director doesn't say cut after you pull that trigger.
I’m with you. I’d avoid the Timney for the same reason. For EDC I’d stick to Apex or Overwatch (which supposedly are the only two aftermarket triggers accepted for duty use by police departments).
I have the glock performance trigger on the 19 gen 5, 19x and 45 because the stock trigger is very gritty like that FN509 and I hate it thats what made to switch out the stock trigger to the performance trigger and I haven't looked back
Yes. I love the GPT as well. To be honest... in the unfortunate event of having to use your EDC, and I hope this day never comes, you will not feel if your trigger feels gritty... Lol. Respect...

I carry a stock refurbished by Glock 45 w irons which I trust completely w my life. I just feel better w a stock Glock , are any handgun especially for a EDC!
Because you get it and I'm with you. The dot on a edc make sense only if you are stop an active shooter in a mall...lol, I have a dot on one of my EDC pistols only because I spent the money early on.
If you ever get in a self defense gunfight you probably want that heavier trigger and won’t feel the weight of it anyway. Let’s pray that never happens. I also carry a G19/23/32 on a daily basis and have for 27 years.
The partially-cocked striker (OEM stock trigger) will still ignite a primer, if it manages to bypass the firing pin safety, which is very robust... If that's the case, having a partially-cocked striker just gives you spongier trigger with no added safety. I don't believe the partially-cocked striker has ever been advertised by Glock as one of their safeties. th-cam.com/video/DBCGdxmILDY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=8MmZ2pvrF-j5Qy5u

@@Gypsyman40 yes on the stock trigger, but what about the performance trigger? it says its now energized by cycling, and the stock one is energized by pulling the tigger , so the striker on the performance trigger is sitting there fully compressed and pulling the trigger only allows the sear to drop
I have a glock performance trigger and which I think feel i will also remove. However, aren't guns like the Canik and Wather Pdp have the same pre-cocked trigger?
They may but the difference for me is the trigger pull weight. I have the 1st Gen GPT which has a 3-3.5 lb. Pull. Not much room to change things up with a finger on the trigger. A heavier pull is more forgiving which is one of the reason I edc the oem trigger. All that is needed is a better feeling trigger shoe...same pull weight
What is the trigger pull weight for that unit. It all comes down to being deliberate under stress with the trigger. Lighter triggers are a liability on a EDC.
Looks like it has a simple Allen screw on it. Remove the top screw only and it should drop off the bar. Don't force it though. If it's tight use a little heat from a blow dryer and a good allen. Hope this helps
It depends on the how you are going to use it. For competition, the performance trigger is great. It is not made for EDC even though you can EDC it if you like.

Yes, in order to take the gun apart with the GPT you must hold down the trigger. It will be alittle catchie the slide and frame but this is the way and its normal with this trigger. don't force anything...

Great video. There’s always complications with brand new products in my opinion you see that in every industry so I think you have a great point.
Thank you and that was my point. I still enjoy the GPT.
Great information. Thanks for sharing your insight. I normally keep all my Glocks stock. The only thing I've changed is maybe a red dot but I'm not really a red dot guy, I'm old school OG Iron sights
Agree, I only carry bone stock internals on my G26.5. When dealing with striker fired actions carried AIWB, the more safety margins there are the better, and the original Glock design had it right, out of the gate.
You get it bro. Thanks for commenting and understanding.
It’s important to know what’s going on and make your decision based on that. Most people don’t know what’s going on. They just think it’s a better trigger with the same exact safety mechanisms

Right on bro. I'm with you on that
I just bought the V2 Glock performance trigger as a gift for my son's 22nd birthday to be installed in a G45 MOS (I also have a V1 in one of my Glock 19 MOS).
Wow... Thanks for sharing that. The first case I've heard of with a brand new unit. People give me hell on this issue/decision, but here you go
@@Gypsyman40 No problem... We will be taking the new trigger apart this evening to see if we can determine the cause of the malfunction. I will post an update if we find something obvious. If the meantime, we did what you did and went back to the original triggers that came in the guns.
@rayhull5051 I would return the trigger and buy 1000 rounds of Ammo. Please let me know the findings.
@rayhull5051 damn... And people called me crazy. Thank you for sharing sir. Oem for EDC wins... Lol
I agree. The performance trigger closely replicates the mechanics of the SIG p320 triggers, and their derivatives. Those guns are not safe at all
Say no more... Thanks for commenting
It isn't as safe as the original in theory. I'm sure its safe because glock made it until it not. Go figure...Competition it will stay for me
An expected result of safety...
What you are saying is theoretically possible, but so is your breaks going out in your car. How often do you have them serviced? Not hating just stating that we depend on good engineering to survive daily, and Glock certainly understands the engineering behind this. Also countless other pistols use the pre cocked position with success. Don’t even get me started on airplanes 😂 we get on those bitches without even questioning
Very true but there are few more factors in this decision to stay oem. Thanks for commenting
The resistance in the stock trigger was meant to take the place of an external safety
it gives time to make the right choice for sure
The best GPT I've seen is the one sold by ghost inc with unit 3.0 connector! Being a 45 acp guy I knew I couldn't use the GPT but I was able to take that connector and build the best trigger setup I've ever had in a Glock style pistol!
I would love to hear more about this. Thanks for sharing that
@@Gypsyman40 The Unit 3.0 by ghost is the best connector on the market if you want little to no take up in your trigger pull similar to a 1911! You start at a wall that leads to a crisp break, the reset is fast and audible! GPT and unit 3.0 is $160 ish give or take with tax or you could just buy the connector for $39.95! I bought the unit connector, trigger spring, plunger spring, striker spring for my G21 clone and paired it with the arsenal democracy switch trigger...best trigger I've ever had!

@@Gypsyman40 it's set up to be a combat pistol but it's great for the range and edc!
@@WillyMandingoWinchester Cool...
Trust Glock. Nothing is tested more than a Glock.
The GPT is literally a factory Glock trigger
I trust most nothing and why chance it on a EDC
It is but it's not suggested by Glock for EDC
@@Gypsyman40 don’t think they’ve ever said that, they say it’s not duty rated because the trigger pull is too light
@@essvd2524 the GPT is too light for EDC as well to be honest
I'm on that same exact tip bro. look up the 25 cent Glock trigger upgrade. I did it to my 26 and it is worlds smoother than my 43x. They felt similar before I did it and now it feels like a half a pound lighter but way more butter start to finish.
Exactly...
its actually hard to find a pistol without a precocked trigger design in 2024. Hkvp9, walther pdp, sw mps, caniks all have precocked triggered.
True... When glock is absolutely sure... I'll be back
The striker is also cocked enough with a traditional glock trigger to ignite a primer.
Besides that my trigger pulls at 3.5 lbs. Brand new first Gen GPT. That's just too light for an EDC. Respectfully...
I'm with you on this. Ran mine for a month with an Overwatch Precision Polydat shoe. Liked it a lot. Never felt comfortable with it. Now I only use it when I zero red dots. It does tighten my groups. But if I don't trust it? Then it doesn't matter.
Im glad you get what Im saying. Why risk it
Your anxiety matches mine. lol. I salute you. It's not easy. I actually went back to Gen 3 with a tool steel striker because I've seen two Gen 5 strikers BREAK.
Gen 3 though...I've shot thousands of rounds with all my gen 5's without incident.
Right...Its me... Not the GPT. To be honest, I feel souch better having the oem trigger in my edc's
From a person who has been in stressful situations you do use your sights
It is my profession to be in stressful situations and it all depends on the distance of the threat and how fast you need to stop said threat. You finding your sights will not be faster than me point shooting and that is if you remember using your sights which I doubt. Respectfully... P.S. I believe you may be local to me...we can always put this theory to the test and a range near us. Peace...
It's just a better, nicer and more higher end trigger mechanism from Glock just like Smith & Wesson has their performance center. But everyone needs to be comfortable and no one knows themselves better than themselves with what they carry, so it's all good.
Totally agree...
Funny how this video appears in my feed THE DAY I get my performance trigger delivered. Like I literally just got it out of the mail and I am in front of my comp about to watch that glock guy do it again for the 20th time...
To be honest it's me. I love the GPT feel and performance, but just not in my EDC.
I have the Overwatch TAC trigger (Polished Trigger Bar), 3lbs Ghost Edge Connector, and polished my OEM Glock Plunger on Gen5 Glock19 MOS. I 100% trust this setup on my Glock. 🤘
sounds cool. How many rounds has been thru it?

Why don’t you keep the Glock oem trigger bar assy and just switch the trigger shoe , put performance trigger on oem trigger bar assembly. Easy change.
Done...and this setup does make an improvement on the feel of the trigger. Same pull weight, but more comfortable on the finger. Thanks for commenting
Check out the falix. I use the GPT from Overwatch. It was entirely coated in NP3. It feels amazing
Will do
For my work guns a Glock 17 and 19 I use OEM. All of my other Glocks I use GPT with the exception of my 34. I don’t think there is an issue with the GPT.
No issue at all if you use it for its intended use which is competition. I love it in my setup
The striker will still spark a primer from the original triggers position.
Of course it will if you bypass all the safeties. Mind you to date I haven't seen any issues with GPT.
Except the actual Glock trigger lmao
Thanks for the info
It works thought...

I also carry a G19/23/32 on a daily basis and have for 27 years.
totally agree. thanks for your comment

I trust and believe in the Glock drop safety. With that said, I have experience this mechanical mechanism fail believe it or not. I watched the video and I loved the engineering involved. Thanks for sharing that and thanks for the chat
so what is compressing the striker spring now? only the slide cycling?
The strike spring compresses when the striker is pull back by the bar (oem) setup
@@Gypsyman40 yes on the stock trigger, but what about the performance trigger? it says its now energized by cycling, and the stock one is energized by pulling the tigger , so the striker on the performance trigger is sitting there fully compressed and pulling the trigger only allows the sear to drop
@86309 correct... The sear releases the striker
Put a dot connector in the performances trigger.
The GPT comes with the dot connector, which only applies to the weight of the trigger pull. I enjoy the light pull it has. Thanks though
I use Agency Drop In on my Glock's, including the EDC, I've never had any type of failure, does anyone have anything against the Agency triggers?
What is the trigger pull weight for that unit. It all comes down to being deliberate under stress with the trigger. Lighter triggers are a liability on a EDC.
I would also have a hard time putting the pulled back sear aside in my mind with the gun in my britches 😅 Always wanted to try the Johnny Glock…
Johnny knows his stuff but I wouldn't put his vex trigger shoe/GPT combo in an EDC
@@Gypsyman40 Same. Johnny doesn't use the thing so I wouldn't buy it either 😆

Hi
Quick question
Just purchased the Glock performance trigger everything looks good and it’s performing well but when I remove the slide to take the gun apart I notice that the side plate is making contact with the metal piece that holds the fire pin I have to pull it alittle hard for it to come out or just press the trigger just a little bit so that metal piece can have clearance
