They've all played D&D before. The Tokyo dice are double sized. So it's like rolling 12 d6s at once, which is on par with Sorc.
I use casino dice as my d6’s anyways 😂 I don’t think they’re bigger than those
Still nothing compared to Orks in Warhammer 40k or Custodes Bikes. Minimum 36 dice being thrown
Sorzlocks got nothing on the Rogues tho. Rolling a buttload of d6 every round (double on those juicy crits)

I'm all for supporting AH, and have no issues with them taking sponsors, but a quick check on google shows that the Kove commuter is around 80% more on their website where the code works, compared to ebay and amazon. No wonder they can afford to give out a 65% discount code.

Yeah, the VPs to health ratio is really not balanced in this game. They need to either lower the number of VPs to win, or increase the health of the monsters, because right now the only viable strategy is to kill all of your opposition.
spamhere1123 I feel like killing opponents would only work if you can take them all out quickly. Otherwise they start stocking up on things that make it harder to kill them, making VP important to actually finish the game.
But 20 definitely does seem hefty. 15 might have been more reasonable.
It really depends on how the dice fall across the board the first couple turns, and what items you can buy in the shop. They didn't get any of the cards that really help VP wins, and nobody really tried for the VP victory either. The game is pretty solidly balanced with either playstyle being viable, but you need to commit to VP to win with it.
VP wins actually get a lot easier as you play bigger games, too, as it is much harder to be attacked if you are playing a passive VP game (Only the monster in Tokyo and specific items allow you to be attacked when not in Tokyo).
I thought of it as a weird sudden death mechanic, as there are far more ways to gain back health than lose VP, so there's a natural creep to VPs. If the fighting takes too long, then the VP becomes important.
Having played this game ALOT, you'd be surprised.

Jeremy voice acting as Zoidberg the Monster of Tokyo, has got the be the icing for this video! I couldn't stop laughing when he did it at random moments, and even some episode references. Like at 10:05! I remember that episode... shame the show finished. Was a good run :)

That zombie costume seems too OP, no idea if they used it correctly.
I feel like it should go away after you hit zero or take a hit at zero kind of like tears of denial from dark souls 3 but it can be rebought on your next turn

I find it fascinating how much the game has changed since this early version... For instance, "Costume" Cards no longer seem to be a thing. Also the artwork changed, for the better IMO.

yea , especially since its not like the cards are gonna show new options so even if he skipped out buying ANY to "save energy for cool cards" seems weird... though i suppose there are evolution cards that could be like "draw 3 new cards"
Since Matt had the zombie card it wouldn't have helped much. It would have been next to impossible for him to get the zombie card from Matt the next turn 'cause he would've needed 3 more energy and do 3 damage with only 6 dice. In the end he may have been able to squeeze through 2 additional turns which might have allowed him to build up the energy needed, but Matt would probably still been able to kill in one more turn so the end probably wouldn't have changed.
@@nathanielreik6617 though couldnt michael have been able to take the zombie card if done right? if he atleast bought that health card he may have lasted a bit longer to get the resources to get it from matt
@@generictimestamperstupendi9021 That's the thing, he would spend 4 energy to get the health leaving him with 1 energy and 5 health. Matt would still hit with 3 leaving Michael with 2 health and 1 energy. He would need 3 more energy to have enough to get the zombie and he would have to deal 3 damage. At that point it would be luck of the roll and whether Michael would be able to get energy and get health to survive another attack or get super lucky and get the 3 energy and 3 attack to kill and win. It's not impossible that Michael could've made a comeback with the health but it would've been extremely hard and I feel it would've more likely just delayed the inevitable.

Matt had the zombie card and Michael would've been at 0 energy, so it would've taken at least two more turns after that to kill Matt. He was just at a massive advantage at that point.

it's actually 20 victory points to win in the expansion? that actually just makes the victory point mechanic completely useless
It doesn't make it pointless at all. VP wins are easier than outliving everyone else, they just didn't get many VP support cards and everybody was playing aggressively. When you're going for VP you play drastically differently and dying becomes almost a non-issue because you're rarely putting yourself in a position to be hurt in the first place.
I just checked, and it's still the same amount of victory points to win, it just felt like they raised the amount for the expansion because that seemed like a really high number
I feel like the VP goal should be reduced to 15 or so
10 seems like too little and 20 seems like way too much
Or maybe just increase health to 20 as well

It would take about 5-7 turns of rolling 3s to reach 20 victory points. Im sorry but Victory points are literally pointless in this game, especially when there are cards that make players lose VP.

I once used the Nuke card while I had 1 health, realized I wasn't going to win, the point leader had 2 health, and everyone else had 4. Lets just say the decided the win.
