    This has got to be one of the best pinball tutorials of all time. The angle alone really works. Top notch.

    I never saw this table in my local bowling alley growing up, so I never had the chance to play it. Fast forward nearly 30 years, here I am enjoying it at home thanks to the virtual pinball community. Such an amazing table, like all of pinball, it's timeless fun!

      Yup! Out of all the pins I’ve owned over the years, TZ really stands out with its creativity and implementation of win/lose gameplay. Simply a masterpiece!

    This, and Funhouse are my two faves of all time. As a young grown man, me and a couple of buddies would play both these for hours.

    20:40 one of the nasty things about this game is that its tilt warnings are extremely subtle. The screen flashes "DANGER" like usual, but the sound effects for it blend in with the rest of the board. Surprise tilts out of nowhere!

    Thank you very much! I found this quite useful! Now, some folks, purists likely, would say I don't "really" play the game as I can only get access to it via Farsight Studios' Pinball Arcade program, but in a place with as few working pinball machines as Winnipeg is, it's the only chance I got.
    I did, however, love this game when it was available back home for me when I was younger. Even if I didn't understand a single thing about it, it seems.

    I remember seeing this game at the arcade at Knotts Berry Farm underneath what was once Kingdom of the Dinosaurs. Twenty years ago or so

    We got this game at my work and I’m addicted to it. I probably spent at least 200 bucks on it, I always play it 20 times a day. I’m trying to get the highest score and this video helped me a lot on how everything works and what everything means

    Pat Lawlor makes the most perfect machines because they are made up in layers.
    1. Just for the casual playthrough. Multiball, extra ball, some fun elements of the machine.
    2. Balls to the wall action with more challenges and action and keeping the game going until you get in the Zone and all hell breaks loose! =D

    I use to be so good at this game when i was younger.
    The pads on the one i played were so used and soft that it made the game so mutch easyer to play and get the balls were you wanted it to go.
    I MISS THIS GAME SOOOOOO MUTCH 🥰🥰🥰

    Galloping Ghost Arcade in Brookfield IL has one of these. I’m kinda new to pinball so when I went there, I didn’t really know how to play it. Now I want to go back and try again.

    Hello
    Pinball Arcade on the iPad is how I got hooked on TZ. It's way more random and chaotic in real life, but they did an amazing job recreating it.
    Hope the tutorial was helpful!

    Hey thanks for this video, I'm a big pinball fan and have never really took the time to understand this pin.
    I love the theme and remember playing it as a kid but I never understood what was going on, or the logic. I had Never made it to the mini playfield or saw the powerball.
    I watched this video, went to a local bar and got a 400,000,000 score my first game.
    It's a great game, and I think they used it as inspiration for the wizard of oz pinball, a lot of the shots are similar.

    • @steveking9011
      @steveking9011  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome! 400 Million is a great score. I usually play a few games in the morning and don't stop until I hit 500 million.

      well I've been back to that bar several times just to play twighlight zone since that last comment.
      my highest score is 1,850,000,000. Almost got lost in the zone mode twice! I think thats pretty respectable for having the pocket change limitation. I cant get enough of it, Ive definitely got to find one in great condition like yours!

      In 2007, I bought one locally off an individual. I paid less than $2900 for it and a no fade cabinet. If you look on Ebay ... currently, this machine is commanding prices of $8000 and up. I When it comes to pinball designers .... Pat Lawlor is KING !!!!

    I'm restoring a TZ machine I bought for $1000, the clock does not work and there a few other minor maintenance problems. Cabinet, play field, and back glass are in very good shape. I think it was a good deal considering how much they go for now.

    • @steveking9011
      @steveking9011  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Plan on changing the clock board & I would swap all bulbs for LED. This pin pushes the power limits and LED's reduce the energy load.
      Good find! A great TZ will sell around $6-10K in California.

    If you hit both flippers while the slot machine is spinning towards extra ball, you get 5 million. I believe it's when you've earned the EB based on points.

    • @Titanic4
      @Titanic4 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Such bonus will be awarded if the end of ball bonus happens to make the score go above closest replay threshold. You'll have to flip both flippers while the replay animation is displayed on the DMD.

    Awesome one of my favorite tables! Thanks for all the tips! I'm going to go with a virtual pinball machine, I've played this table on PlayStation and was impressive Oh, I hope that my 49 inch cabinet , UHD screen, 10 solenoids, tilt Bob , Shaker motor, we'll get close to this game play, It's coming on Friday

    Thanks for the vid! Just got my First Pinball machine, the TZ. I wonder if its correct when you drop all six balls in the drain for the autoload the first time you play. Three steelball was loaded to the gumballmachine and the two others plus the powerball is in the machine ready for play. That means that the powerball comes into play everytime. One of your three balls Is that right?

    • @steveking9011
      @steveking9011  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello
      That's probably correct if your settings require 6 total balls. I purchased the home rom 9.4. The home rom gives the options for the gumball machine to accept 4 balls for a total of 7 total balls. The home rom was only $10 and is simple plug and play. I like having 6 steel balls and 1 porcelain ball loaded into my TZ. Makes the power ball a bit more special. Hope this info helps. Keep pinballin'!

    So the Dead End Extraball isn't an option for you due to the risk of shooting through the pop bumpers I guess???

      During Multiball (Fast Lock ideally) is a safe time to go for it as you have multiple balls.

    • @steveking9011

      Correct! TZ pop bumpers results in a center drain about 30% of the time. Pat’s pop bumper design on TZ was genius. Brutal, but genius.

      I like The Amber glow of the incandescent bulbs, but swapping this table to LEDs reduced the overall power load significantly. It also reduced the heat coming off the table. This was huge for me considering my pins are in a small room.

      Plastic piece 1/4” x 2” heated up and bent in the center. Used a dab of gorilla glue to hold the quarter On the plastic and screwed it down using a factory screw.
