➳ WHO WE ARE
We're Lisa & Jeff Warnick and we've been repping Thrive freeze-dried foods for over 10 years. It's been a dream of ours to have a van to travel the country, supporting our team and sharing the Thrive love. After we built our first van, we realized how much we love the creative process of designing and building vans...so now we're building and selling our own custom vans. We also do conversions on client-owned vans. In this video

Excellent. Thank you.
Hands down one of the best resources for diy van building. Thanks!
Wow, thanks!
Thanks for the great video. I do wonder how this installation would hold up in the winter with snow on the roof.
Thanks for the review.
The Google Doc parts list is awesome and very appreciated
You’re very welcome!
I use their residential plan capped at 1TB (1000 GB). The reliability has been amazing since I live in the Colorado mountains.
Looks like StarLink is getting closer to a convenient power solution for vans. I'm holding off spending on my system until they get it right. I already feel a bit stung by that price drop to $299 three months after I bought my dish.
I'd love a hardwired 12V supplied receptacle with some sort of waterproof (marine-type) passthrough option so I can plug the dish into the (out)side of my van... from StarLink rather than an after-market hodgepodge. That doesn't seem like too much to ask at this price point.
Running the ethernet cable out a slightly cracked window proved to be a disaster in the Yukon. Mosquitoes found their way in. I move everything outside because I have a 120V receptacle on the outside of my van. However, I'm not crazy about having all my gear outside in the rain or tipping people off when trying to be stealthy. Lastly, I ruined the ethernet cable unplugging it 30+ times. That looks like a design problem to me. Their waterproof solution makes it difficult to dislodge the cable.
Checkout the ChargeIT! 280W Dual USB Type-C PD Charger . It's a 12v input and 2x140watt usb c outputs. They also have lower watt and just 1 usb c output optiona. I just bought a handful for my builds to let me charge my laptop in different parts of the van
I know this isn't the point of this video, but...
How do semi-permanent mounts perform in the wild? My StarLink at least "requests" to be aligned with respect to tilt and rotation. (I haven't checked if it actually works when out of alignment for some reason). Are people parking their vans north-to-south if possible, going without internet, or do you get internet service regardless of whether you are optimally aligned?
Can you make a video about when exactly you put your finished flooring in? I’ve seen vids where you say you do it around the cabinets, but noticed you have the floors done under the galley and bench in other videos.
Great info! Can you do a review of the X2 AC sometime?
Yes I can
Is there a way to connect the dish to a cable with a lock? I love the flexibility of the magnets but seems like it would be easy to steal and at $500 that would really suck.
I’m not aware of any, but you could rig up a cable lock. It sits below the roof rack, so you can’t see it unless you are above the roof.
Check out Cool Gear’s USB power adapters. They have a 100W/200W multi-port device that is intended to be mounted behind panels. They are arguably the best you can get, as they have mixes of USB A, C, and multiple modes like QC and PD. A bit pricey but worth it in my opinion.
I'll have to check those out!
the starlink mount you got is not what they sell anymore. the one I got was awful quality metal, peeling and rough edges
Wondering...with the built-in router enclosed inside the Mini unit and mounted on the roof, how is the internet connection when you're inside the van with all doors closed? Does the metal roof interfere with data speeds?
Seems to work fine.
distracted by the plastic wrap on your AC...what's up with that?
That's how it comes from the factory. We take it off before delivery to customer.
I would rather continue putting up with my very slow internet service than give Musk a penny on purpose.
You need to visit a Psychiatrist
He doesn't want or need your money anyway. Keep crying.
Im sure he (or anyone else) cares how you punish yourself.
