Not sure if it would be too aggressive, but take a look at an air needle scaler. They are designed to remove rust, scale, and paint from metal surfaces. It might be just the thing to get the undercoat removed quickly and much more efficiently. Keep up the great work.

Your 356b is as or is more crispier than Dominick chineas 356 a, or the guy from garage time diy restoration green 64 356c you tubers cars. You should check out their content it may help you good luck. I suggest a drill with various wire wheels will save time anless scraping.
