Hang in their. Inpatient is much easier once you get the hang of it. It’s team work and you always have someone to reach out to when your patient is crashing.
When it comes to differences in opinions don’t take it personal- there are many ways to skin a cat. Medicine is mixture of art and science. 5 physicians may have different opinion on how to treat a patient. This is where clinical practice guidelines is applied. If there is a reason why a standard of care is not performed always document why . Example u suspect PE however pt with AKI which precludes CTPE - u have to document why u did not order CT PE and will use VQ/ LE DUS vs starting DOAC depending on how strong your suspicion is depending on bleeding risk and entire clinical picture.
For physical exam -. Not everyone needs a MSK or skin exam. Each patients exam is different based on presentation and chief complaint.

    Pros for inpatient
I don’t have to respond to telephone calls or inbox messages from patients.
    I never take work home.
I finish my work by the end of my shift.
I hardly ever work over time.
    Cons for inpatient
Work weekends, holidays, 10-12 hr shifts.
    High acuity- really sick patients.
Would not go back to outpatients with this new world of electronic medical record. Patients want Acess to provider 24/7.
